We stayed at THB Bamboo for five nights (July 18–23). The hotel itself is new, modern, clean, and check-in was fairly smooth. Our first impression was positive—until we walked into the room. The biggest surprise was how compact the standard rooms are. I understand that room sizes can be smaller in Europe than what many U.S. travelers are used to, but what really caught us off guard was the bathroom layout. The bedroom, shower, and bathroom are essentially one shared space. The bathroom and shower are separated by glass, and the bathroom door is shared with the shower area. If your partner is using the bathroom early in the morning while you’re still sleeping, you’re less than five feet away. For us, especially after paying what we considered premium prices, this wasn’t ideal. It honestly gave us “luxury jail cell” vibes. We went downstairs to speak with the front desk, who were understanding and explained that every standard room is designed this way, with only the suites offering a traditional bathroom layout. They offered to show us the available suites and mentioned they might be able to provide a discounted upgrade. We viewed both the regular suite and the Premium Suite. They were significantly nicer, featuring a spacious bathroom with double sinks, a separate living area, and a large wraparound balcony overlooking one of the pools. However, the upgrade pricing was $100 per night for the regular suite and $120 per night for the Premium Suite. After already spending nearly $2,000 on our original booking, another $600 for five nights didn’t feel like much of a discount. After grabbing lunch and discussing it, we ultimately decided to upgrade because the larger layout made our stay much more comfortable. The hotel manager apologized for the inconvenience and offered us two complimentary drink vouchers. He explained that he couldn’t reduce the upgrade price further because of existing pricing policies. He also mentioned that Expedia’s room photos were somewhat misleading and that THB’s own website better represented the actual room sizes. Personally, I didn’t completely agree with that explanation, but after walking around in nearly 99°F (37°C) heat looking at rooms, I was ready to move on and enjoy the vacation. The following day, we noticed the suite appeared to have been unoccupied for a while. The balcony furniture and flooring were dusty, so we asked if housekeeping could give it another thorough cleaning. To their credit, the front desk responded immediately. Housekeeping came quickly, cleaned the room again, and even buffed the balcony floors. I genuinely appreciated how responsive they were. While I still feel the substantial upgrade cost deserved a bit more than a toiletry bag and two drink vouchers, the staff definitely made an effort to resolve our concerns. A few things future travelers—especially those from the U.S.—should know: * The standard rooms are very compact. * If you’re traveling with several large suitcases, expect them to take up most of the room. * The open bathroom layout may not be comfortable for everyone, even couples. * If privacy is important, you may want to book a suite from the start. Once we were settled into the suite, we really enjoyed the rest of our stay. The hotel has a relaxing adults-only atmosphere, the property is attractive and well maintained, and the staff throughout the hotel were consistently friendly and polite. One interesting observation: during our visit, there were a large number of German tourists staying at the hotel, so that seemed to make up the majority of the guests. The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of options each morning. We didn’t try the dinner buffet, so I can’t comment on that. Overall, I think THB Bamboo is a nice hotel, but during peak summer season I don’t believe it offers the best value for the price. If you’re considering staying here, I would strongly recommend budgeting for a suite if privacy and extra space matter to you. Final Rating: 6.7/10

THB Bamboo Alcudia is a very nice hotel, located close by the sea (3 mins walk), close by public transport, close by supermarket but still not to much noise. The atmosphere is great, adults only, a lot of couples (young) were there when we were there. The Rooms are very very small so if you come, come with someone you are close to and be aware that toilet and bathroom are visible and absolutely not discrete! Rooms are really the reason why I can only give 3 stars instead of 4 stars. Value for money is good if not for the rooms! It is a very clean hotel. Service is very good.

We stayed 6 nights at the THB Bamboo hotel in Alcudia, staying in a Superior Double with Pool View room. We arrived after a long day of travelling and were checked in by Marie who was very welcoming and helpful. Most of the staff we spoke to during our stay were very polite and helpful. The hotel has been completely renovated and opened in May 2023 so it has a luxurious, relaxing and modern feel. I contacted the hotel to let them know that our trip was for our wedding anniversary, on arrival in our room there was a bottle of Cava and a lovely fruit/cheese platter with a nice card. The room was very clean and a nice size. Walk in shower with a large rainfall style head and hand held attachment. There is only 1 door which can be used as the door for the toilet or the shower, which could be an issue depending on who you are sharing the room with. The sink is on a vanity unit right beside the shower and toilet. There is no full length mirror in the room which i definitely missed having. The only mirror is above the sink. There is a smart TV so means you can access YouTube, Netflix, etc, which is always a nice touch. Plenty of plug sockets, but a nice addition would have been to have some USB ports on the sockets as we only had 2-3 travel plugs so had to keep swapping things over to charge, etc. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room, although no UHT milk portions (which is usually the norm in most hotels). However, I just asked for some milk at the bar to take up and staff very kindly gave it to me. There is a fridge in the room to keep it in. Complimentary carton of water in the room which can be refilled at the water dispenser in the gym area just off the main pool. Wardrobe area with a few hangers and 2 drawers for storage. There is a safety deposit box in the room which is free of charge. When we arrived the safe was locked/closed so we were unable to program in our pin to use. We called reception the next morning and they said they would send someone up. We waited well over an hour for someone to come as they said we had to be in the room. We then called back to ask how much longer it would be and were told that the key had been lost and they were trying to find it. A member of reception staff and maintenance(?) arrived another 45 mins-1 hr later and said they were unable to do anything without the key. As the safe was locked and none of our things were inside we didn't actually have to be in the room. So they said they would come back once they found the key and fix it but no one came back so we couldn't use it while we were there. Also we couldn't get out balcony door to lock. Bed were 2 singles pushed together, which was fine. Found them very comfortable. Pool areas are very nice, one main pool, with another looking on to the lake. There are bali beds and sun loungers with parasols around the pools. Hotel was quite busy when we were there but there seemed to be enough beds to go around. Didn't see many people, if any, reserving beds with towels, etc. Was a very relaxed atmosphere around the pools which i enjoyed. There is a pool bar which serves drinks and cocktails, we bought a few cocktails but to be honest they weren't the best (possibly just the kind we ordered). We were B&B and the breakfast buffet was excellent, so much choice, from cooked items to cereal, meats, cheeses, fruits and pastries. The food was very fresh. You could also have coffee of your choice (Cappuccino, latte, flat white, etc). Lots of fresh fruit juices and you could also have a mimosa if you wanted. The hotel doesn't do a lunch buffet but there is a food truck by the pool which serves food throughout the day, we didn't try any of it but the menu sounds very nice and looked like a good variety available - burgers, pizzas, salads, and much more. There is an evening buffet included if you are staying half board, but you can eat there if B&B for 25 euros pp (price is per night). There is a lovely seating area outside the hotel where you can have a few drinks or coffee and a cake. Large selection of cakes available, all of which are displayed in glass cabinets at the bar area. The location of the hotel is good, about a 5 minute walk to the beach and a variety of bars, restaurants and supermarkets in the immediate area. Our flight home was at 10.30 am so we had to leave the hotel about 7.30 am and had asked on check-in if the hotel could arrange some food for us to take with us as we would be away before breakfast service started. We were told this was possible and they could provide a sandwich, fruit, etc, and to ask reception for this the day before departure. The night before we left we asked the member of staff on reception for this and were told it wasn't possible as the kitchen was closed. I felt this was a bit unfair as we would have paid for the breakfast on our last day in the price of our holiday, which we weren't able to have. We weren't aware that there was a cut off time to arrange this for the next day so maybe worth bearing in mind for anyone who has an early check out/flight home. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel. Due to the issue with the safety deposit box, balcony door and packed breakfast I have given 4 out of 5.
