Alua Illa de Menorca

We had a weeks holiday mid September booked through Saga. Their organisation was great and we loved the rep Maria, so helpful. The hotel was spotless, could not fault the cleanliness. The rooms were OK we would have preferred a walk in shower rather than one over the bath with a very awkward glass door. The bed was comfortable, pillows less so and the noise from adjoining rooms awful, no sound proofing whatsoever. The meals ranged from, not that again to very good, we loved any regional dishes. There was a lot of variety but I am afraid it did not always appeal especially some of the meat offerings. I love fruit and yoghurt for breakfast. Often the fruit was not ripe and if you chose the mixed berries they were often still frozen. The main gripe was, why no tea pots? Making a cup of tea in a cup is total naff IMHO. You provide tea pots at Jumpers bar why not in the the mdr? We felt we were adrift as there was no where really to walk to. I can see why this hotel is all inclusive because there is no where to go for a meal, it is what it is, we should have done more thorough research. The pool and pool area were nice, though I would question the availability of sun beds. Some days it was totally rammed with nothing available. We did what others were obviously doing and put towels on sun beds before breakfast. The noise round the pool was not good. It was not music, more like a really annoying noise that added nothing to the pool experience. The entertainment crew were very proactive and friendly, cannot fault them.I Evening entertainment was a mixed bag ranging from pretty good to pretty awful. The wait for a pre dinner drink at the main bar as unacceptable. One poor waiter having to cope with a queue of people, just so wrong. Would we visit Minorca again? Most definitely but would we visit this hotel again? No. Loved the sea view from our balcony but we're totally sick of the dog the seemed to bark ,24/7, not your fault I know but it stopped us using our sea view balcony on quite a few occasions. e rep

First things first, Menorca airport the smoothest most efficient airport (both ways), arrived at hotel in middle of day but not an issue room was ready. 5th floor overlooking pool area and sea view - fabulous. Room itself spotless - two singles pushed together. Kettle and coffee making machine but no coffee, asked at reception for so e coffee and got told to use the coffee machines in the restaurant or bars if I wanted anything else (we're early risers I want a coffee at 6am), had to go and buy it ourself which we did. Bottle of water in the roo as you go in but that isn't replaced through the week. Pool area was fine, sunbeds all in good condition and plentiful, no need to put towels down at silly o clock to get your spot. Food was what you might expect as an all inclusive buffet style but quantity and quality were more than good enough. This was welcome because whatever you might expect from the .local area in terms of bars and restaurants, there wasn,t any really. Staff were great apart from one barman who was having an off day. Note on drinks - we were all inclusive but had to pay for my wife's drinks as her tipple of choice wasn't included she is a cider drinker and had to pay extra. Animation team were simply superb, clearly enjoy what they are doing, and it comes over really well, always on hand and ready to help in any way they could. Sports facilities and sports bar a fantastic area - but - the lack of information about any of the facilities was frustrating. Anything you had to find out yourself, our rep told us about shuttle services from the hotel to local sites or towns, but nothing from the hotel. There is a spa and a gym, but the gym isn't signposted I don't even know if the spa was open. Entertainment ranged from so terrible to be laughable, to really good quality singers. All in all more good - Pleunie in the animation team lovely in every way, and Andrea in the sports bar equally so - than bad, lack of information and coffee. A really good week - would i recommend it to anyone else? If they were over 30 and wanting a good, quality relaxing time then yes I would, definitely.

Stayed for a week with (grown up) family. Nice hotel in a quiet resort. We arrived early but most of our rooms were ready. Check in was easy and friendly. Pool area nice. No issue getting sunbeds. The animations team were excellent (Pleunie, Tom, Timeo, Douru and others!) with a combination of fun activities. No pressure to take part! They were also happy to chat in the evening. Food: plenty of choice. Agree with comments about the meats on the grill not being up to the same standard as the other food choices. Drinks: we were AI and drink choices pretty good. We didn’t explore the resort, which is small, but did catch the bus (91) from a stop near the hotel to Mahon. Cost €1.80 each way. Mahon is a pretty town and worth a visit. Market days are Tues and Sat. Overall a good hotel, comfortable beds, very clean with very friendly staff. Would recommend.

Better than expected 4* experience, no complaints, very pleased with Hotel, staff, services, rsturants, and overall value for money.

This is not a 4 Star hotel. 3 stars maybe. Food is terrible, cheap cuts of meat with gristle. Bathrooms clean but very tired. Carpet up the stars is filthy. Fingerprints everywhere especially in the dining room. Music piped throughout the hotel is not by original artists. Report is very very quiet. Hotel is overrun with French guests. I won't be returning
