AluaSoul Menorca

We made a last minute booking to Alua Soul and were not disappointed. Only 20 mins from Mahou airport the transfer was quick and easy. On arrival the staff were polite and very pleasant and our room was perfectly adequate. Our room was clean and well appointed and serviced when we needed it. The hotel had a very quiet vibe - which is what we wanted. The over atmosphere was that of a laid back hotel, exactly as described for an adults only hotel. The spa was great on the one cloudy day and being free for everything except massage was an added bonus. The restaurant served good food and was always well stocked (especially seeing as it was their last week open). The beverage choices at the bars were good and as part of the all inclusive we got drinks at Purobeach included. All the staff were very polite through out and said hello every time we saw them and stopped to chat at any opportunity. Special mention to Alexa the activities coach who was engaging and took time out for us when she passed. Being picky food wise would have liked more regional food - but the food was good and plentyful. Overall we were very impressed and will plan a return. Tips for travellers, take a good insect repellent (recommend a good plugin one for the room) and use regularly! It's a quiet area but was perfect for us, but trips can be arranged to Mahon with the staff in advance.

Lovely hotel in a very quiet resort, if you like a lot of bars and nightlife this isn't for you. There are 3 or 4 restaurants, we only visited Reina Isabel and the pizza was lovely, 2 small supermarkets and an ATM next to the hotel. Dinkys cocktail bar had just closed for the season, unfortunately. This overlooks the seafront, so I imagine it is lovely when open. The hotel itself is clean and staff are helpful and friendly. We stayed in one of the suites with a sea view and plunge pool, it was perfect with a beautiful view to wake up to. Food in the restaurant is what you would expect for a 4* hotel, my only complaint would be that water should be provided with your meal free of charge. The coastal walk to Alcaufar is rocky so don't attempt if you're not good on your feet or you don't have any suitable footwear. There is a beach here too. We continued the coastal walk to Punta Prima, which took around an hour in total. There's a nice beach and a few more restaurants. The hotel does offer a free shuttle bus to Punta Prima. They also offer shuttle bus to Mahon for €8 return each, we used this service which took around 15mins but there is a cheaper local bus. This is an adult only hotel, the pool is across a small road in front of the hotel. The gym is at the sister hotel Allua Illa, a short walk up a hill. If you're a regular gym user, you won't mind a short walk! There is a sports bar at Illa where we watched a premier league football match.If you want facilities more on site, the Allua Illa maybe a better option for you, which is also for families. The My Favourite Lounge is a fabulous addition with free snacks such as pastries, fruit and nuts and a coffee machine, a fridge with both soft drinks and beers and a selection of wines. Overall we had a wonderful relaxing stay at Alua Soul and we will be coming back next year.

I have recently got back from a stay at the Alua Sol hotel with some friends we were looking for a short break and to have a last little bit of sun before autumn/winter in the UK. All in all we had a good experience the hotel was clean, and spacious and both of our rooms were lovely having upgraded to the "My Favourite Club" option That the hotel provides. That being said though the hotel did ignore our requests for the rooms to be close together and to have twin beds in both of the rooms. We also never received the welcome bottle of sparkling wine and letter from the hotel manager which the website says is apart of the "My Favourite Club" experience. As we went in October the hotel was quiet and peaceful and we were always able to get sun loungers in the beach bar that is opposite the hotel. The location of the hotel is good if you are really there to just relax, sit in the sun and not do much else as there isn't really much around apart from their two sister hotels, two supermarkets and lots of privately owned villas so if you are looking for somewhere with a bit more life I would recommend a more busier resort in Menorca. One thing that does bring this rating down is the food and sometimes the service that was offered in the in buffet restaurant in the hotel. The food was pretty much the same day in and day out with not a lot of different options and sometimes wrongly labelled or not labelled at all food (I wouldn't recommend this for someone who has food allergies) so it was a bit of a guessing game as to what you was actually eating sometimes. The meat options were never served really that hot and were sometimes not cooked properly, For example the burger Pattys that we had for lunch one day were all a bit pink inside and didn't seem like they had been cooked all the way through as well as the sausages that were on offer for breakfast they also didn't look as though they had been cooked properly either luckily we had cut them in half and noticed this and didn't eat them. This was a lovely hotel for a short break and to just get away and relax but I don't think I would recommend a longer stay here than 4 nights max but for what we paid it was good experience and lovely to be able to get upgraded a bit cheaper than usual as we booked out of season so it was good value for money.

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The resort area is very quiet, probably too quiet for our liking. The only thing that lets the hotel down was the quality and variety of food on offer. We stayed in the Garden Rooms with private plunge pool, which were lovely rooms. Some rooms in the main building had a poor views.

This was a flying visit and we would love to have stayed longer. The hotel was spotlessly clean. All staff were so friendly, we felt spoilt and completely comfortable to ask for anything, wander the surrounding area while feeling very safe. A relaxed weekend, just what we needed.
