Globales Cala Blanca

We have just returned from our 4th visit to this hotel. We like to go in May and September / October. We have had another great 2 weeks. If you like a small hotel in a quiet residential area that is near to a lovely sandy cove then this is ideal. I won't repeat what I put after my previous visits but they are all positive. Feel free to read my previous posts written after our returns in May & October. I love joining in with all the activities. These are organised and run by Mayte and Judith. They do an amazing job. They are the engine of this hotel. They encourage people to join in but if people don't want to then they don't push the matter. The activities include air / pistol shooting, archery, shuffleboard, french boules and many more. What I love is when people give it a go and invariably they love the activity and meeting other friendly guests. The evening entertainment is also very good with live acts like the Mowtown evening, Top of the Rocks couple, the acrobats and the magician. If anyone leaves the restaurant feeling hungry then I would think they have a very very very picky palette. There is plenty of choice and the theme nights are popular. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Viktor runs a very efficient bar and the newly introduced plastic token is very simple, works very well and cuts down on waste. I just don't see what people have about 'paying' for a beach towel. You don't pay. It costs nothing. All you do is pay 10 euros and you get that returned when you return the towel at the end of the holiday. It isn't rocket science. The place is kept very clean and I really appreciate that the smokers did use the smoking area as I hate passive smoke. So thank you to everyone who works there and hopefully we'll see you in May '27. Finally can I just say a huge 'thank you' to all the lovely fellow guests that I and Valerie met and had a great time with. There are far far far too many of you to mention individually , but you know who you are. x

Let me start with the one positive I have. Most of the staff were lovely, work extremely hard behind the bar. As soon as we checked in we were bombarded with request for money, We all know about tourist tax, but usually you are asked to pay later in your stay, not before you are given the key to your room. Then 10Euros for pool towels and when they need changing another 2 Euros. 40 Euros a week for the safe in your room. The rooms that we were given were not the rooms we booked and had to wait two days for the Tui rep to appear to have them changed, then they would only change one room and not two. Unacceptable, but nothing we could do about that. The same Rep. made a mistake with a trip booking that cost us £407. Tui offered us a £300 voucher for our next holiday. As if we would ever book with Tui again. The rooms are old and need redecorating, not all the lights work, When we asked for water we were told to refill the plastic water bottle in the on water station in the bar, my sister refused to do this as it is a health hazard and had a full blown argument with the reception staff. The photo I am now looking at of the hotel is completely false, the sunbeds that we had were old, dirty and uncomfortable. I could not use them, when I asked for cushions to be put back on the furniture outside the bar area, I was told they would not put them out in case it came to rain and the barman would have to run out an bring them in. The food they serve in what is no better than a staff/school canteen is passable at best, no ingredient are displayed on the cards, therefore if you have an allergy or intolerance you have to ask the staff. It is more than 500 metres to Cala Blanca as stated in on the website, it can be walked in 20mins. or take the bus for two stops, but the only thing there is a supermarket, an Irish pub, and a few restaurants. There is however a very nice restaurant by the beech which we frequented quite a lot, even though this hotel is all inclusive that's another thing that need to be changed to part inclusive, the cocktails are diabolical. They give you a blue token on arrival which you exchange for a drink in a plastic glass whether you drink inside or outside, this lasts until 7pm when they change to glass but it's a half pint glass that you get every drink in. If we were told that Bingo was played every night before the entertainment we would have avoided this hotel Unfortunately we booked for two weeks, and I can honestly say this if the only time on holiday that we were all glad to be going home. This is no where near a 4star hotel and is a 2 star at best. The hotel Meditaranni that is the sister hotel and not far away was lovely but you are not allowed to use any of the facilities at this hotel, the reason for this in my opinion is that most of the guests at the Cala Blanca, would be there most days and evenings.

Near sea lovely views, very quiet around hotel, rooms lovely and clean and comfortable beds, request a shower on its own if disabled you should get one but won't be pool facing sadly. Food was good, salad bar could be better. Drinks fine but take your own coffee and tea for your own preference. Kettle in room and coffees sugar etc filled daily. Hotel spotless. Staff all lovely and helpful. Lift only one lift a bit of a pain sometimes took ages Entertainment was good live music several times a week. Animation team all lovely. Pools lovely and garden area nice. Beds a bit low for me as I'm disabled. They have a hoist to get you in the pool if disabled. Local shop 5 mins away. Surrounding area not good for wheelchair sadly, pavements were up and down very dangerous. Bus stop right outside hotel to take you to different towns. We would return.

We were put in a quiet room as requested, and the room was comfortable and clean. The cleaners came in daily but for some reason made the bed but never changed it, which was a bit disappointing. We had an issue with the shower one day and it was fixed immediately upon reporting it. Like others have said, there’s one lift, my wife has mobility issues and at most a few minutes is all you have to wait, if at all. There’s plenty of places to sit if you need to wait. It really isn’t an issue. The animation team were great, very friendly and got people involved in the activities. It’s not too in your face though, if you don’t like that sort of thing. The evening entertainment could do with a refresh. One night in particular, was bad, some sort of true or false quiz of 15 questions, and along with the nightly bingo, that was it for the entire evening. It was disappointing. The sun beds desperately need replacing, they are extremely uncomfortable. I could not lie on them for very long without it hurting my back. The food was ok, there was always plenty of choice. I can be quite fussy but I managed to find something to eat at each meal. They do different themes each night, which is a good addition. The snacks need improvement. We went a couple of times, before lunch and all that there was to choose from was the leftovers from breakfast. It was the first time we have been all inclusive and after reading some of the scathing reviews, we were quite worried. All in all though, we had a nice relaxing holiday, with everything we needed. They even brought up a bottle of fizz for my wife’s 60th Birthday, which was nice. Yes improvements can always be made but for the price you pay you’re getting a good deal.

this is the worst hotel we've stayed in so many hidden charges ie 51 euros for a safe for the week you get 10 euro back , pool towels , 10 euro , 1 euro to exchange it one lift for 350 rooms, the soda dispenser didn't work flat drinks all day , food is not good & only good thing the cleaning team or good this is not a 4* hotel
