Globales Cala Blanca

Not normally one for sharing bad experiences as no hotel can get everything right and trip advisor can be mis-leading as everyone's expectations can be different. But this hotel is would not recommend based on its 4 star family hotel rating. Yes its a small hotel, that isn't an issue but the facilities are out of its depth for the number of rooms available (160+). There is only 1 lift/elevator to service the whole hotel with a max occupancy of 3 people which cant be achieved with suitcases. The food selection was the worst I've experienced in a 4 star hotel, I've had far superior options and quality in 2 and 3 star hotels. There was only 4 main options with around the same side options. The slad bar I cant complain at and was pretty good and the best meal of the day was breakfast. Looking around a family hotel the options for children seemed only to be chips and rice. And on lunch and evening no tea/coffee available in the resturant as the machines were switched off and cups covered up. The drinks such as cocktails were shocking, and yes I expect a level of local drinks but some were nothing of what we're described. Outside the bar area the decking is on the verge of being unsafe, when you walked on the part near the steps you bounced suggesting the support under the decking has failed (many others who have reviewed have highlighted this). The rooms are described as recently renovated on their website, im not sure what year they were last renovated but it certainly isn't recently. The pool i have spoken to TUI as it looks to be mouldy on the tiles on large areas of it, not without testing but it can be seen very easily. The entertainment was unbelievably poor especially for a family orientated hotel, ive never witnessed kids so bored during the day or on an evening. When you book a 4 star hotel you expect a higher level standard but this hotel falls below that standard and acknowledged by TUI (see pics). Our experience with the rep Raphael was one that felt he knew of the issues we raised in resort but was unwilling to act upon them other than a small gesture of improving the food options for 1 meal, that meal pasta bolognaise and pizzas were served with a bit more of a selection but reverted back to the same quality and options for food. He also failed to report these back through the official TUI complaints reporting and TUI tried to say we never reported the issues as he never filed a report. But correspondence further presented to TUI showed we did. This again goes as a negative, because if the rep fails to do his job then he fails all customers with the in resort service. On a positive the staff were very friendly and the hotel is fairly clean for the most parts but these are my only real positives. The hotel should be reviewed/audited and have its 4 star rating downgraded to meet the standards of what's currently on offer.

Third time in menorca beautiful island Staying here I really can’t fault the staff and rahael TUI rep,we arrived on the Thursday everyone very pleasant and helpful,no problem with hotel shower,room,bed fine,air con a bit poor but we went down for dinner first night was like a poor school canteen everything was lukewarm at best,I noticed a microwave in corner so Friday started using it to warm dinner up,on the Sunday lunchtime I had chicken curry tasted quite nice but again was cold so off to the microwave I went,while I was eating it properly half way through I noticed red bloody chicken inside that wasn’t cooked,was ok until about 6pm that day and had to go to bed had terrible aches and pains in legs and front of my head and won’t describe what I was passing out of bottom which I’m still doing unfortunately,I saw the doctor in Cala Blanca who told me I had a stomach bug and just drink plenty of water and take paracetamol every 4 hours for the pains and it should pass ,we had booked a tour on the Tuesday cost of 96euros which my partner went on but I lost my money as just felt so bad,it’s now Wednesday going home tomorrow and I’m still in my room,just drinking water to try to clear my body.going back to the food I understand they have to cater for lots of people but there was flys all over the trays holding food,and cold and lukewarm undercooked food just isn’t safe,will be seeing my own doctor in uk on Friday if symptoms are still as bad,

Lovely hotel , rooms spacious & cleaned every day. Good pool area , clean & entertainment crew excellent. Food good very much your normal all inclusive and was cooked well. I have several food allergies and did not struggle to eat. Night entertainment okay but the wait between bingo & the act could be cut shorter. Had a fab time & would stay there again

1st visit here Positives: very nice hotel, lovely room overlooking the pool and with seaview. Cleaned every day and all public areas were spotless. The pool area and grounds were lovely and the surrounding areas and local bars and restaurants at the beach were good. Negatives: the all inclusive drinks were abysmal especially the wine. The restaurant was like a school canteen and the food wasn’t good. Luke warm , meat overcooked but chicken often undercooked. Very little choice compared to every other 4 star all inclusive hotels. Entertainment at night was too late and not much going on during the day. Very disappointed and wouldn’t return or go to any Globales hotels if that’s the standard they think is acceptable

On the good side - the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel and grounds were spotlessly clean. We had a nice room with a view over the pool area and to the sea beyond. There was a good variety of food on offer for lunch and dinner each day, although the mains were not hot, unfortunately. On the negative side - the lift is tiny and takes a max of 3 people at a time. Totally inadequate for the hundreds of guests staying there. We didn't like being expected to pay a deposit for towels, and to charge for the use of the safe in your room is outrageous. 4 star??? Also would have expected some toiletries in our bathroom but just had liquid soap. Jostling in the restaurant to make our own tea with a teabag and hot water from a machine was a pain. We expected some waiter service with tea being brought to your table at breakfast time. Towards the end of the week we were bored, as there's nothing much to do there except visit the nice little beach a 5 minute walk away. Our feelings were echoed by many guests staying there. Definitely a 3 star hotel.
