Naranjos Resort Menorca

Terrible experience with this hotel. We arrived in at this hotel late at night with two very tired young children . On arrival, reception was closed and there was no way to get in, it was a self check in on a screen outside . Our reservation number was appearing as invalid. The emergency number on the door rang out . We went to the restaurant next door , where a lovely lady helped us , without her we would have been stranded. She phoned the hotel manager, who very bluntly and unsympathetically told me we had no reservation , there was no record of a booking in our name and they don’t work with last minute.com who we had booked the package through . He was extremely unhelpful and offered no help or alternative accommodation Thankfully the lady in the restaurant next door helped us , if it hadn’t been for her we would not have had a bed for the night . On investigation with last minute.com , they said that the hotel had overbooked and when we hadn’t arrived at 1pm ( when we were still at home in England) they allocated the room to someone else . There had been no correspondence saying we had to arrive at 1pm and obviously this was impossible . Extremely shocked at this level of service . Thank you to the lovely lady in the restaurant next door for helping us out , she was amazing .

We really enjoyed our stay at Naranjos, it provided a lovely base for exploring the island. We hired a car and found S'Algar to be a good location. A lovely short walk to the shore, no beach but still beautiful view. We had a two bedroom apartment, set up as a double and twin, with twins pushed together but separate sheets which was perfect for us. Check-in was straight forward and easy, our room was available earlier than the stated check-in which was amazing after an early start. The pool area was clean and well maintained, with plenty of sunbeds. The resort has a calm atmosphere, quite family oriented but not super lively which suited us. We had apartment 3A, which was quite close to the restaurant. There was occasional noise in the evening from the restaurant but nothing disruptive. We ate at the restaurant for lunch on our first day, the food was fine and no issues with service. What would have made it 5 stars for us? A more comprehensive welcome pack would have helped our expectations of cleaning and towels etc. Our towels were replaced once in a 7 night stay and the apartment wasn't cleaned at all. We believe we could have requested housekeeping but weren't sure! It didn't affect our stay significantly. The apartment is a little dated but everything worked and was clean. The pool didn't have a lifeguard and when some kids got a bit more rowdy there wasn't any enforcement of rules, which at times made us a little wary with our four year old. The Alua Illa de Menorca is just up the hill, and we could hear the noise from the evening entertainment most nights. It didn't bother us much and we always travel with earplugs anyway! The Alua also allowed us to join in the mini-disco if we bought a drink at the bar which was very kind. The Alua Mediterraneano Menorca which is slightly further away through the village also offer use of their pool and mini-club for a deposit which is redeemable against lunch at their Italian restaurant (which we did and enjoyed the food) Overall we would be happy to stay at Naranjos again, it felt like decent value for money for what we paid and a good experience.

Absolutely fantastic short break with our friends as a group of couples… the rooms were immaculately clean, staff so friendly and the food was amazing … had a great few days away and definitely recommend … we will certainly be revisiting soon ❤️👍

Just stayed here with friends. A very relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful location. Spotlessly clean and great sized rooms. What made our holiday we the level of service from Gabriel and Jose. They could not do enough for you and made the holiday feel really special. They are an asset to the hotel and we would come back for the service alone. Looking forward to coming back Dan and Hayley

Just spent 10 days at these apartments and must say they are lovely, very clean well equipped & good views, it is in good location & the pool area is great nice sunbeds & very peaceful. Unfortunately the complex must have some arrangement with the locals because every weekday from 4pm & all day Saturday & Sunday the complex is swarmed with kids & very noisy too, they take over the place so using pool, bar or restaurant is virtually impossible which let's they place down badly!!!!
