Sa Barrera

I cannot recommend Sa Barrera highly enough. I had been having a wonderful holiday here from 17th Sept. to 21st Sept over the fiesta weekend. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and the staff very professional including the young women at reception who carried up our 2 suitcases to our room. I was thoroughly enjoying my stay with a lovely view from the balcony of my room. It is in close proximity to the main area of Calan Porter and the restaurant in the evening has a wonderful view to watch the sunset over the beach. Unfortunately I had an accident while out and about and broke my leg, resulting in a full leg cast from thigh to toe. Obviously this meant I had difficulty getting about. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful and supportive. They went above and beyond including helping me up the stairs - thanks to Roberto and Isham for this. Also as special note of thanks to Lydia who had been very informative and welcoming prior to my accident and even more supportive after it. Ada was also really helpful and there were some others whose names I didn’t catch. I had to book an extra night on the ground floor which still involved 2 steps to manoeuvre - again all staff were really helpful. I could go on and on but really what I want to emphasise is how helpful every one was and I really appreciated all the support. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Calan Porter and totally recommend it to others.

This is a great hotel...I booked direct with them, liked the proximity to the airport as we had late flights.Staff friendly, an unbelievable setting, the view from the breakfast terrace is stunning It was calm and quiet and just a few mins walk from town The beach is 200 or so seriously steep steps below you, so be aware We booked the last room that was available, had a small terrace overlooking the pool, the only minor gripe being the room was small and didn't have a full length wardrobe, I assume there are bigger rooms available But the room was spotless and cleaned every day Value for money here is 10/10 There's a bus stop 2 mins walk away so great for day trips to Mahon as well

Nice beach nestled in bay - hotel overlooks this from terrace. The atmosphere was quiet, which I was looking for and it was off season. However, I’m not sure if this meant they weren’t keeping up with the rooms in the way they normally would. My room was OK - though when I arrived there was an ashtray with cigarette butts left on the balcony - I’m a non smoker and it didn’t convince me they had done a proper clean- not to mention what when after a hot shower the balcony doors steamed up and revealed some previous finger drawings of a phallic nature on the glass! The hot water went in my room, but they fixed it quickly. On the third day, my towel was pretty damp and I had to request it to be replaced and room turned down as no one had come day before (which meant I also had to go down and ask for toilet roll). The clean was better when they came, and amenities replaced. Breakfast was nice and staff were really pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. I ate at the hotel one dinner - squid which was not great, and a pizza which was delicious. A mixed bag - for an adult only hotel in such a nice location with great staff it has real potential to be wonderful, but just a bit rough around the edges in terms of cleanliness and finesse.

It was a ok hotel for the night for our Cami de cavalls trip! Room was of a good size, not that clean unfortunately, couple of coffee rings and the bathroom wasn't perfect, however the Staff were lovely and friendly Breakfast is minimal and basic. But it did the job for us for 1 night

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the long May bank holiday weekend and had an amazing time. The hotel is quite funky and I loved the decor in reception. The place is immaculate. Our room was a pool view room and it was lovely. So clean and had everything we needed. The pool area was also so clean and so relaxing. 2 minutes to the beach, the steps back up are a killer but worth it! The town itself is so lovely with a supermarket nearby and lovely tapas down the street and also a restaurant nearby. Hotel serves food also which was lovely! I cannot fault the staff at all. Roberto, although quiet, is a lovely man and nothing is too much trouble, he makes a mean Negroni too!! There is also a lovely blonde girl on reception but I can’t remember her name, she was so helpful of where we should go for dinner or drinks. Club Menorca for dinner is a must just for the scenery. Also Cova D’en Xoroi is a must for the sunset! Stunning! We will definitely be back soon and can also see us coming back here for a long time to come.
