A Sheraton-Marriott Bonvoy property to avoid! I'm here for 10 nights, and if not for Maribel--front desk staff--the decision to stay at a Four Points Flex for the first time would have been a huge mistake--a total disaster. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member and was hoping for a room upgrade--not available, since all rooms in this budget hotel conversion property are the same (a former Easy Hotel). This hotel/brand simply does not deliver what it claims on the Marriott Bonvoy website: --We focus on the basics, so you experience a friendly, efficient and comfortable stay. --Four Points Flex by Sheraton assures you a welcoming place to rest and recharge, whether traveling for work or holiday. Maribel ensured that I got even the most basic amenities one expected to find in a hotel guest room (that were not provided by the hotel): a chair (there's a plastic stool only, and she got permission to give me a patio chair), a drinking glass/mug, extra pillows, etc. Maribel has been very resourceful, efficient, and genuinely hospitable--attentive to guest needs. Moreover, the room is kept clean daily, thanks to an outstanding housekeeping staff. Good location? It depends: a 25 minute walk to Atocha Station/Reina Sofia, additonal 10 minutes to the Royal Botanical Garden and Museo del Prado. The #6 Méndez Alvaro metro station is half a block away, but Circle Line trains are almost always packed. Fine restaurants across the street in a new business development on Méndez Alvaro ; a five minute walk to a pharmacy, grocery store, and barbershop/salon--and more local restaurants. There is a self-service laundromat 10 minutes away toward the Atocha station. Four Points Flex Madrid Atocha is not suitable for long stays of more than 2 nights--the bed is not very comfortable either. In case of emergency, there is no telephone in the room. Probably, this hotel is not intended for international travelers--TV programs/ stations are all in Spanish. Breakfast is very basic (and the same daily), with limited healthy choices. I wished Marriott Bonvoy had provided a more accurate description of this recently introduced Four Points Flex brand. It would definitely not be my property of choice in the future. It is unquestionably not worth the Euro 175 per weekend night they charged me. I should have read Tripadvisor reviews more carefully.

The hotel was very clean and quiet. The room and bathroom were very small even by European standards. The location is not in the action. But we liked the quiet at night and easily Ubered to our destinations.
