The hotel my company normally books was full the night I needed so I ended up here. Despite the not so glamorous exterior, reception was satisfactory. The corridors coming out of the lift were many, but I found my room easy enough. I surprised how spacious the room was, spartan but spacious. Huge bed. Nice cupboard with safe and a very decent bathroom. Good toiletries and surprising to see a razor and shaving cream on offer. So often you see all the cosmetic stuff for women, but I think this is the first time I've seen this offered in a hotel. Along with a toothbrush and paste too! The bed was firm and the long pillows fine, but I did find the sheets a bit rough, I ended up needing to use my PJs. I did manage to get a good nights sleep after that. The TV has a wide range of channels in multiple languages but if I recall correctly just one English speaking one. Breakfast revealed why they provided shaving equipment. I think there were only two or three women there. The rest were men, so very much a business hotel. At least it was on the day I was there. The food selection was good. My only comment was that it wasn't replenished fast enough. Often I went up and there was no fruit, churos or eggs left. Check out was efficient, save for a comical misunderstanding if the room had been prepaid or not. It wasn't and that what I was expecting, it was just something lost in translation that came across as it was prepaid. All sorted out with no fuss. I'd happily stay there again on my next visit.
The hotel is functional but does a decent job for the money. We chose the hotel due to its proximity to the Jarama Race circuit. Staff on reception and in the restaurant were all really friendly and helpful. Rooms were as expected, standard size, fairly basic, but pleasant enough. The pillows were on the hard side, there is no hot drink making facility, though there is a mini-fridge. Just 5 clothes hangers!! Our room had a terrace, which was nice to air the room, but the view isn't pretty, the immediate area is commercial. We ate in the restaurant and food was ok, but it is as brightly lit as dentist surgery. There are plenty of good resultants within the vicinity, some excellent ones in nearby Moraleja.
Really nice hotel and great friendly staff. Good food and close to shops and restaurants. 10 minute walk takes you to a leisure complex with loads off restaurants and 10 pin bowling. Madrid center is only around 10 min in a taxi. Also lots of authentic Spanish restaurants close by.
Important to know - this hotel is for business travellers. We booked through an agent who, having read the promotional material, assumed that it would be suitable for holiday travellers wishing to see Madrid. Wrong! I cannot fault the hotel for service. food and comfort, although it is rather soulless and our room had one non-opening window looking at the opposite wall 3M away. However, it is situated in a business district on the wrong direction from the airport for Madrid. Despite comments, It took 15minutes walking and three metros to get to the centre, which means that you will need 1 hour40 minutes on average to get into town. You could take a taxi which is faster, but quite expensive. We actually cancelled our room for half the holiday and moved into their other hotel nearer to the town centre. Big improvement
On day 1 we asked for the room to be cleaned whilst we were out exploring the area. When leaving our room, our suitcases were left open on the floor with valuable possessions left on the side including perfume, woke laptop/phone jewellery as we expected these items to be safe within our locked room. Upon our return we found our possessions had been rummaged through with our suitcases being emptied and couldn’t locate a perfume bottle (£150 value). The next day we spent the day searching for the missing item which was not located. To our knowledge this is the only item that was taken but have yet to fully go through our suitcases which were tampered with. We reported the item missing to reception after we throughly checked our room to which we were told the staff were aware of the perfume ‘incident’. When questioned they said upon arrival to the room the perfume was already smashed. This was inaccurate as the item was not left on a smashable surface and we would not have reported the item missing had we broken it ourselves. The staff failed to apologise or inform us of the incident, and when questioned all staff were knowledgeable about the ‘incident’. After trying to resolve the situation, they then accused us of having smashed the bottle ourselves instead of offering to rectify the situation or offering a solution. The item was obviously stolen as we didn’t smash it and, had they accidentally smashed the perfume whilst cleaning, the room would have smelled potent given it was a brand new, full bottle of perfume. We asked to speak to the manager who was rude, changed her story multiple times after consulting with back of house, laughed at us and said she couldn’t understand us despite speaking perfect English. We were also told to “f*ck off” and to contact the police if we wanted anything done about the situation. Would not recommend staying here.
