Innside Madrid Genova

Last year we ended up at the Madrid airport INNSiDE due to airline snafus. We liked it, so when we planned a return trip to Madrid for the total eclipse, we chose this sister location thinking it'd be similar. Not so much. First, the good: the room on the 6th floor was clean and quiet. There were charging outlets in the room. I asked for more towels and they came within 15 minutes. A couple of restaurants were within short walking distance, important after a long day of walking around. Now, the bad: I had presumed the room layout was standard, not picturing a shower right in the middle! The problem is that the light from the shower spills into the bed area (not to mention the noise of it). Because the shower stall lets light through, you'd think the bathroom window would also have blackout curtains, not just the main window. It kinda defeats the purpose to have one window blocked but not the other! The shower itself was slippery, and the drain cover loose, making it a hazard. There's a teeny tiny trash can in the bathroom. Seriously? They've never heard of feminine hygiene products? The room did have its own small trash can, and that filled up quickly with Kleenex as my nose was unhappy with the air conditioning in the dry heat (opening up the window helped a little bit). The breakfast buffet was large but lackluster in taste, especially compared with the buffet at the airport location. Heating lamps did nothing to keep the food warm. Day two we bailed to Panera Rosa next door, and tried again Day three (they were closed).

We’ve been to other INNSiDE hotels before so chose this one due to reputation, price and location. Within walking distance to lots of tourist attractions, and bus stops for each direction within three minutes walk. Also a couple of metro stations within five minutes walk. Room was modern, clean and with fantastic air conditioning which was needed this week (we checked in on the 26th). Housekeeping excellent, towels and bed linen changed every day. Reception staff couldn’t do enough for you. Complementary water and soft drinks in the fridge every day. Always a chap on the desk downstairs and someone on reception 24/7. Great rooftop bar as well. Didn’t have breakfast or other meals there as we like to try different places each day. Excellent stay thank you.

The hotel is very modern and clean and great location. But there are also quite a few downsides: - The noise isolation is very bad so if you are a light sleeper, look for another hotel. - The shower is in the middle of the room, so unless you are traveling alone or not as a couple, it might be weird - To connect to Wifi requires lot of patience Besides that beds are really comfortable and breakfast is good. Staff is very friendly and rooftop is great (if there is no heatwave). There is no pool.

There was a valid reason why finding a room in this hotel was not easy. It’s brilliant and very much sought after! Visited here for 2 nights in June with a colleague on a business trip and absolutely loved it. Tucked away less than 100m from Gran Via, the hotel itself is modern and calm, away from the chaos on the main street Had booked the Innside Room but was upgraded to the Innside Room Gran Via View - thanks to the hotel management - and was very pleased with the room. Decently spacious, clean and well maintained. No creaky bed, doors or dusty corners. A minibar stocked with complimentary beverages that are replenished everyday! Something I haven’t seen in Europe in ages. The breakfast was also good, small, but did its job to start the day. Especially eating it out on the terrace overlooking the Gran Via. Will definitely be back next time I am visiting the city

We had a great stay at Innside Melia Gran Via. The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of all of the key tourist attractions and shopping area. We didn’t need to use public transport at all. We stayed in a Gran Via view room which was a lovely view, a little noisy at times to be expected on a busy street. The rooftop bar was wonderful, it did get very busy so we tended to go after dinner around 9-10pm. We didn’t eat at the hotel but can recommend Zenith for breakfast/brunch 2 mins from the hotel. We’d definitely stay again if we went back to Madrid.
