I found the design, maintenance and cleanliness of the “accessible room” (room 44) to be substandard. Did not like that Room 50 had no privacy for the shower. Room 44 - accessible room on floor zero and farthest away from the elevator with carpeted hallways. How does this make sense for an accessible room? No hooks in the bathroom. No trash can in the shower area. No access bars to use the bidet. The enclosed shower - the water runs under the tiles for the drain. The black mold growing down there is not sanitary. How does this even get cleaned? When was the last time it even was cleaned? Bedside plugs should be more accessible. Hair dryer should be more accessible. Magnifying mirror is inaccessible.

The hotel is in a great location, close to shops, amenities and restaurants/cafes etc. The hotel is an excellent standard with everything you could need and to a high standard. The whole place was very clean and tidy. The swimming pool was closed during the visit which wasn’t obvious during the booking process on LoveHolidays. The hotel is located near the train station which you can get the train to Madrid Atocha station in 40/45mins. The rooms temperature once the key card was removed defaulted to 23DegC and could only be lowered to 20DegC which was too high and resulted in having to sleep with the window open to make the temperature bearable. Staff were very friendly and helped with any queries, they allowed us to check in early as the room was ready and they ordered us a taxi back to Madrid airport. The staff only really spoke Spanish with very little English (not a complaint, just something to bear in mind). The onsite bar and restaurant was always a good place to visit with table service and very reasonable prices including complimentary nuts and crisps when ordering drinks. Overall, excellent stay and would recommend to anyone.

I just arrived yesterday, will be here for a week, and am already struck by how excellent this place is. Really nice rooms with really nice appointments, enormous breakfast spread, coffee in the wee hours at reception if your room hasn't its own machine, really nice bar/cafe in addition to superior restaurant (that starts serving at 8:30 pm, a challenge for Americans with reflux !!), pool (in season), fitness room, spa (extra), lovely giant interior garden that's probably more stunning in season. . . and REALLY REALLY REALLY nice staff, from the reception desk to the bartenders to the servers at breakfast to the guys who didn't make fun of me when I couldn't figure out how to turn on my coffee machine or make certain TV programs have English audio. This is no ordinary parador, and it's a huge complex right in the heart of the city.

A peaceful and enjoyable stay in a fine hotel. It is comfortable and quiet with a great ambience in an historical setting.

Very nice hotel telling an interesting story from the past. It is walking distance from the old town, very nice location. Nice staff, good services.
