Riu Sri Lanka

A FABULOUS HOTEL Staff are very friendly and the food is excellent Location is fabulous and the amenities are superb Highly recommended Particular praise must go to the animation team and to the Restaurant Manager called Marshall,he was very friendly and always made us welcome. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Well worth the 12 hour flight from the UK to get here!

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the entire team at RIU Hotel for the outstanding hospitality and exceptional service extended to me and my family during our recent stay. From the warm welcome to the excellent service, delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and the genuine care shown by every member of the team, everything made our stay truly memorable. We were especially impressed by the professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail demonstrated throughout our visit. Thank you to the entire RIU team for making us feel so welcome and for creating such beautiful memories for our family. Your exceptional service is truly commendable, and we look forward to visiting again.

Best hotel in the area ! Special Thanks to Ravindu and Piumi 🫶

What an absolutely brilliant hotel! All the staff are amazing and make you feel welcome from day one. The reception team go out of their way to help with any requests, and the bell boys are always on hand to assist with luggage, making your arrival and departure completely stress-free. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and I would like to extend my thanks to all the cleaning staff. From those who keep the dining area immaculate to those who maintain the bar areas and public facilities, their hard work and attention to detail are evident throughout the resort. The housekeeping team are awesome. A massive thank you to the supervisor, Sadeep, and my room attendant, Prabash, who created amazing towel decorations on my bed every day. It was such a lovely touch and always brought a smile to my face. The Animation Team are brilliant and encouraged me to get involved in the pool games, which I would not normally participate in. A special thank you to Bawadtha and the entire team. The evening entertainment they provide is outstanding, and it is clear how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly and everyone has a great time. The waiters and waitresses in the dining area are exceptional and really look after their guests. My sincerest thanks go to Livera and Vimukthi, as well as every member of the team. I only wish I had been able to remember everyone's names because they all deserve recognition. The chefs are outstanding and work incredibly hard to ensure the food is always fresh, plentiful, and beautifully presented. Now to the bar staff and waiters... what can I say? They are all fantastic! Once again, I wish I had managed to get everyone's names, but a special mention must go to Sithum, Minidu, Shev, and Rohitha. Along with the rest of the team, they make the best drinks and provide exceptional service. The Sri Lankan Cocktail (bitter rather than sweet!) is absolutely out of this world, and the Vodka Cream is equally delicious for those of us who don't enjoy whisky. They are some of the friendliest, most welcoming people you could ever hope to meet. I truly hope I have made some wonderful friends here at RIU Sri Lanka. Will I be back? Oh yes, without a doubt! 😊 Thank you all for making my holiday so memorable.

The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and the food is truly excellent. But the welcome and overall hospitality fell short of our expectations, especially compared to Shangri-La. We sometimes felt ignored, possibly because we were local guests. The male staff, particularly at the reception and in the restaurant, came across as arrogant and unfriendly. Generally, there were very few smiles, and many staff members seemed annoyed rather than welcoming. The only exception was young gentleman wearing spectacles at the front desk, who was professional, polite, and pleasant to deal with. While the property, cleanliness, and food are excellent, the overall guest experience is let down by the staff's attitude and level of hospitality. The hotel needs significant improvement in staff training, friendliness, and guest service to match the quality of its facilities
