A day in the life of the Huus. It's 6.30 am; the peal of bells from Sannen Church lures you out of bed to look east, through the pass, to the expectant sun. You shower and pass to breakfast. The chefs and Maria or Marta from the support team will have worked hard to set out the splendid buffet: fruit, charcuterie, bread, all fresh. The breads and pastries stand out. The Muesli—well, this is Switzerland. Always a smile from M&M. By 9 am, you're heading out into the breathtaking hills and mountains, thanking your super-efficient room team, Ana and Patricia, for rocking up early. Today the hike is from Feutersoey. Up into the hills, down alongside the ravishing beauty of Lake Arnensee, then up and up before descending to Col De Pillon. The SBB app says that if you make it by 13.41 you are straight back to Feutersoey on the super-efficient bus service, and the journey is courtesy of the Gstaad Card. By 3 pm, you're back at home. A cool glass of Huus cold tea—heaven. Today: no pool on the sixth floor, a read or music. The evening comes, and it's time to indulge in that view and that cooking at the Vue. A light supper of Truffle Tagliatelle oozing with taste; it might be Joana, Telma or the lovely Mario who waits on you, but certainly Alexandre will make the choice of the perfect wine pairing. To be fair to all the staff, they all smile and greet you. Joie de vie is written into the culture. Tonight is the Huus Tiramisu, as good as anywhere. The food at the Huus is superb, inventive and fascinating. The perfect start, and of course, Gstaad is home to the Proms in the Mountains, the Menuhin Festival. Tonight it's in the Kirche of Lauenen, with a recital by a Lutenist and Soprano with the highest pedigree. The setting is a fairy tale; the music achingly reminds one of a slower, more thoughtful past. Dowland and Monteverdi echo out into the night— and then back to my home, and sit on the Balcony and enjoy the stars, reflecting that this is just one of many nights at my home in the mountains. 2027, of course-Inshallah.

We stayed there as a family on the night between Sunday and Monday. The hotel markets itself as a family-friendly establishment. At check-in, we weren’t told that there would be a disco at the hotel (on Sunday night). We were given a family room with our children, right above the nightclub. We spent the night listening to club music. When we complained at check-out, we were simply told ‘sorry’.

yes, perfect! But until the next day the people staying above us at 6.30am was already pulling chairs back and forth :( it is so irritating. Cleanliness was good. Staff was very helpful, around pass 11pm out electricity was shut dowm, the staff came and fixed the problem immediately. The breakfast buffet was really good.
