Lenkerhof gourmet spa resort

very disappointing stay in a very nice location. employees are evry nice and multilingual, especially the boys at the entrance are very helpful and friendly. however the people seem not well trained or understaffed: the waiting time in the restaurant, 1h between 2 courses and more is deseperate, if on top after all this time waiting your plate arrives cold, you get really frustrated. they also seem a little blind, not taking away plates while passing at your table with empty hands. no one is filing up your water glasses or asking if you would like more wine etc. by the way, wine: ordering a sparkling wine that is recommended with the menu: it arrives warm... the only thing that was really quick in the restaurant was the childerns menu, however the portions were very small and the pasta was swimming in the oil. when also for breakfast it does not deserve 5stars: coffee orders that do not arrive at all or only after asking several times. tableclothing with holes... also roomservice is a little blind, forgetting to take away empty plates or used glasses and finally swimming pool area: deck chairs that seem not have been cleand from one day to the other (one that we did not chose the first day as there were crumbs on, had still crumbs on the second day), a towel with a really big hole in it and the area before entering the external pool was full of black stuff, no idea what it was but did not leave a nice impression it was not our first stay here but it was really disappoing and not what you expect for the price you pay. Do not think I will come back under the current ower.

We chose this beautiful hotel in one of the most stunning parts of Switzerland to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and it was truly the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome and were thoroughly spoiled throughout our stay. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, helpful, and professional, making the entire experience feel effortless and special. The restaurants are outstanding, offering a truly high-class dining experience, and breakfast is excellent, while the spa is simply exceptional—a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The natural surroundings are equally breathtaking, with the beauty and tranquillity of the Swiss landscape adding something truly magical to our stay. Our anniversary celebration became a genuinely memorable experience, and we could not have wished for a more special place to mark such an important milestone. We will certainly be back! Highly recommended.

Imagine that perfect hotel, elevated above the village at the end of a Swiss Alps valley, fantastic views from your balcony and the restaurant terrasse, most lovingly preferred dinner in two different gourmet restaurants (coming with the best cheese buffet we have ever had, and we have seen many), friendly staff and everything falls into place. But they have put that high pressure water shower into the outdoor pool that switches on 7:30am and keeps on going automatically all day, facing off to all balconies and the terrasse. You dont hear the quiet, you dont hear the little stream next to the hotel, you just regret that avoidable noise. Hence only 4 stars and the request to the new owners of the hotel to give more space to peace and quiet when they rebuild the outside SPA (which we hear is in the making)

We stayed at this hotel and overall the property itself is nice. The hotel and restaurant are pleasant, well maintained, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. Unfortunately the service was significantly below what one would expect for a 5 star hotel. During our stay the valet misplaced our car key. After some time the hotel eventually found the key they had misplaced. However, instead of simply returning it, we were asked to pay CHF 36 to have it mailed back to us. Considering that our stay cost around CHF 14’000 and that they were the ones who misplaced the key in the first place, this response felt quite inappropriate and disappointing. Another aspect that felt out of place for a hotel in this price category is their upgrade bidding system. It gives the impression that the hotel is trying to extract every last cent from guests rather than focusing on service and hospitality. The property itself is nice, but the service and overall guest experience do not match the level one would expect at this price point.

Let's get this out of the way: the Lenkerhof is expensive. That having been said, it was worth every franc. This is a full service gourmet hotel and spa. That means that the room was elegant (we had a suite), the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was accommodating at every turn. This began BEFORE check-in, where the bellman whisked our luggage to our room, and was waiting for us after we checked in. With one exception, everyone we dealt with spoke at least three languages- French, German, and English, and most spoke other languages as well. With the exception of one sauna area, the entire facility is kid friendly, and there were quite a few present. The highest praise I can give a restaurant is, “I wish I could cook that”, and this was true of both in the hotel. Both do tasting menus with a variety of choices that change rapidly. The chefs are ambitious and imaginative with their use of ingredients (many local) and flavors. There is a half-pension deal on the tasting menus that is well worth it. The wine menu consisted of somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 selections, of which we tried four. Restaurant Spectacula and the bar offer a VAST array of cheeses for desserts in the evening. Apart from the cheeses, which you help yourself to, the portions were right-sized. The spa is delightful, and it features an outdoor pool that is meticulously maintained, with water temperature of around 35°C. There is also a cooler lap pool. We did take advantage of full massages, which were quite professionally performed. There are also dry and steam saunas and a full gym. While we didn't ski on this trip, the Lenkerhof is conveniently located next to a gondola, for those who do, and it has a ski room for storage. It also has a garage with two charging stations for EVs. Two comments about its location: the paths and roads to the hotel can get icy, and one must take care. Second, Google Maps may get the last turns wrong: it is best to consult a map before you approach the hotel.
