Apart Hotel Adelboden

Location is very good, smack on the middle of Adelboden's main street. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The view stupendous. The beds are good. The cleaning staff is friendly. This was our 3rd stay here, this time for 5 nights but we were disappointed. The terrace was still too skimpily equipped with just a small metallic table, no outdoor furniture. Of course one can use the apt's uncomfortable wooden chairs but not ideal to enjoy the beautiful sunset for a long time. But the most unpleasant points were these: the noise volume in the evening sometimes well past midnight with people talking/laughing quite loudly below; and the very inadequate and limited communication skills of the person in charge of customer relations. In addition there were 2 fire alarms one day, the second one late evening had all guests clueless on their own evacuating the building.. no explanation or apology from the management the next day, were we all on our own.

The apartment was really lovely and the operators made it easy to do everything virtually - the town is also adorable. My only big complaint is that the bar next door allowed people to sit outside and be so noisy until very late (which is typically against Swiss noise standards) and it made it so we couldn’t open the windows so we roasted…

The hotel's location is excellent, and the room facilities are good. However, The hotel has an unusual self-check-in system! I booked my room directly through their official website, yet there was no mention of this process. I struggled to find a way to enter the hotel and ended up spending over an hour trying to get in. The worst part was the housekeeping staff. A cleaning lady rudely knocked on our door and insisted that we leave even before the check-out time. This was completely unacceptable. As a tourism professional, I believe that hospitality should come first—before implementing modern systems, make sure to show a warm and welcoming face!

Pros -good location; beautiful village - local restaurants close - nice kitchen - clean apartment Cons - all digital ( keys, etc). No internet =no way to get in - poor instructions - nobody on-site to handle issues. AirBnB usually has much better communication/instructions/prices. - lots of paperwork just a few days prior to check in (not fun trying to complete this while on vacation) - excuses from staff when approached with problems - LOUD neighbors (again no ownership from staff)

The lack of **quiet hours** resulted in disturbances from a noisy group nearby, which particularly affected our family's rest. Despite raising this issue, the **hotel management did not address** our concerns, which was disappointing. We also faced a problem with our **assigned parking spot** being occupied. With no nearby alternatives, we struggled until we located a phone to seek help. This added unnecessary stress to our experience. The hotel's **digital access system** for rooms, while innovative, poses a risk if your phone battery dies. We recommend having a backup plan for such instances. Although the accommodations were **well-equipped**, the location's suitability for families is questionable due to these challenges. A more proactive approach from the hotel management in resolving guest issues could improve the overall experience. In conclusion, while the hotel offers modern amenities, attention to guest concerns and clearer communication are areas needing improvement.
