A Pleasant Hotel near the Old Town I had a single room for one person with a single bed and a balcony with a wonderful view of the mountains . My stay was very pleasant, mainly because I was so relieved to get away from the heatwave in my home area.But the hotel itself was so so. The hotel is in two parts and the part I was in was the one with hotel rooms and the reception desk. All staff were very welcoming and nice - but there was a general feeling of lack of organisation. Reception staff on my first two days were new and seemed poorly prepared and lacking in knowledge.This was a little frustrating at the start of my stay. There was no information in the room, or given automatically on check- in , about how to access wifi, how to operate the TV or how to use the safe. I had to go to reception for each thing. The room itself was small but perfect for one , with a nice bathroom and surprisingly large balcony. The wifi was not always very reliable and the TV ( when I got someone to get it working properly!) had a huge number of channels but very poor picture quality, so I didn’t bother to use it. There is a “ wellness” area.The pool is nice but very small , so not for swimming,and when I tried to use one of the saunas it wasn’t working properly and I had to get someone to get it to heat up - which involved some waiting. Bathrobes and slippers are available but this was not obvious and I only got these as , by chance,an employee - a rare presence in this area- spotted me using the facilities . The main problem for me was noise - I could hear my next door neighbours having loud conversations as the sound insulation is poor. Same problem with people closing - or often slamming - doors. I could hear people putting things in cupboards/ wardrobes and moving things around. It must be much worse in the high season when the hotel is much busier. The staff are extremely approachable and do their best ,but they are undermined by what seems like poor organisation in general. This hotel could be much improved with a bit of effort.

The hotel experience was a mixed bag: Great location near the lovely old village, and a short walk from the bus station and shops.My room for one was small but perfect for me,with a huge balcony and amazing view. Tea and coffee making facilities were much welcome as was the mini fridge. No instructions in the room about how to access wifi, operate TV,or use the safe though; I had to go to reception for all of this. My tv had no signal and I had to get someone from reception to sort it out.But, in the end,the picture quality was dreadful,so I didn't bother to use it! Wifi connection is ok but sometimes unreliable. Staff at reception seemed not to know much - on my first two days,two separate receptionists told me "it's my first day". There was a general feeling of poor organisation. Staff were extremely kind and did their best - but niceness can't solve everything. The hotel has a "wellness" area . The saunas ( both of them) were not functioning properly when i tried to use them and I had to wait for one to heat up.The pool is nice but quite small,so not really for proper swimming, but probably nice for relaxing in the warm water. Bathrobes and slippers are available, but nowhere is this made clear.I only got these by chance when a staff member happened to see me there and gave me some.Most times I went to the pool,I saw no staff around. The only real problem I had with this hotel was noise.I think the rooms have poor sound insulation , so I could hear my neighbours' loud conversations or the sound of them opening and closing drawers and cupboards..I was also woken up by hearing the chain being pulled in someone's toilet. Luckily the floors are carpeted - so it could have been worse. The noise issue would put me off booking here again.

Spacious and very comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Super location, 5 minute walking distance from baths and ski area. Big rooms. Delicious continental breakfast. Perfect for family vacation. We will come back again.

I spent a wonderful Christmas at hotel Grichting with my boyfriend. The Christmas meal was delicious and the staff very friendly and professional. Broad range of choice for breakfast. Highly recommended.

Hotel was great and owner exceptional organizing our breakfast early for us to make first tram to climb the klettersteig. She also called to check if Klettersteig would be open upon our arrival without us asking. Highly recommended!
