Our opinion of Nozha Beach Hotel is mixed. We travelled as a party of 7, 5 adults and 2 children aged 8 & 4, so I’ll give the review only as the opinion of the 2 eldest adults. We originally visited this hotel over 30 years ago and much has changed as you’d expect. Our main issue was the noise of the entertainment. The hotel is surrounded by other hotels on both sides and has a main amphitheatre for entertainment in the middle so whichever room you have faces either the noise of your own entertainment or that of the adjacent hotels. Remember that this is a family hotel and not everyone wants or is able to stay up late for the entertainment. The entertainment only needed to be loud enough for those in the amphitheatre but when in the room you could hear it just as well as the double glazing was virtually non-existent. It was just far too loud but enough said about the noise. Most of us these days have mobile phones and other devises that need charging but there are no usb sockets in any room so don’t forget to take local adapter plugs. That said, the socket by my bed was very temperamental and sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. I think they turn Wi-Fi off at times because sometimes it was excellent and other times would not connect. We asked about this at reception one morning at about 9am, it having been off since the night before and was told it would be on in about an hour! There were often long queues for food in the restaurant. In the morning, they squeeze fresh oranges but use a home juicer so if there are 3 people in front of you, expect to queue for about 20 minutes to get yours. A similar situation with the omelettes, meat and pizzas – whereas in most hotels I’ve been to, they have several on the griddle or in the oven at the same time cooking so when they’ve served what’s available, the next batch is ready. Not so at the Nozha Beach. Nothing goes on until it’s all been served so you then have to wait for it to cook, causing more long queues. When the tea bags ran out, they weren’t replaced. We asked for more and they brought out a couple for us, not replacing the stock. Oh, and they don’t do tea or dessert spoons just small wooden spoons like you get with ice cream tubs. The air conditioning in the restaurant is poor. It was so hot that meringue desserts, ice cream and even cheese was melting. That can’t be good for things like salads and meats that need keeping cold. The rooms are compact but you’re on holiday so don’t spend too long in your room. However, our shower drain was blocked so it overflowed into the bathroom. We asked on several occasions for it to be cleaned out but no-one came so we did it ourselves. Similarly, we had to borrow a broom to sweep our room and pile the dust and sand into a corner where it stayed for the duration of our stay. I’m not sure what housekeeping did but they didn’t sweep the rooms or make the beds, just straightens out the quilt. The air con in the room was great. We always managed to get sunbeds but I’m an early bird and got up most days at 6am. However, it was obvious that people were saving beds overnight. On one evening at 9.30pm, we counted over 50 towels already laid out for the following day despite there being signs up prohibiting saving beds. Reception staff weren’t interested and just said ‘what can they do!’ One last negative before I get onto the good stuff. Supervision around the slides is poor which on one occasion did result in injury. The regular slide pool guard is more likely to be chatting up the beauties or playing on the slides himself rather than supervising so rather than making sure the kids are clear before allowing the next user, the kids are left to their own devices and slide too close together often colliding. The curly slide can sometimes be slow, resulting in users getting stuck part way down. Inexplicably, the next user will go at quite a speed. On one occasion my grandson got stuck part way down but the next user came fast. My grandson split his lip enough to need stitches! However, the Saturday relief guys are great and always alert. The remainder of the pool staff were great, always cleaning and trying to keep the pool side dry to prevent it being slippery. There are plenty of general waste and recycling bins around the pool area for the plastic and paper beakers served at the bars. There are bins on the beach every few feet and a great idea of a foot shower at the edge of the beach which reduces the amount of sand brought back to the hotel. One of the beach guards regularly takes the big rocks from out of the shallows to make it easier to get into the sea. Both the pools and the sea are a nice temperature and the sea is crystal clear. The beach is mostly lovely soft clean white sand. Unfortunately, on the beach are the remnants of the many balloons the entertainment team burst during their activities and despite the multitude of bins, paper and plastic cups that guests can’t be bothered to pick up! There are 3 outside bars and one inside and I never had to queue once. The local alcohol is pretty good and they serve some lovely cocktails with good measures and in the evening bring out snacks of nuts, olives and cheese. There is a different singer on the terrace each evening and the reggae guy is particularly good Reception staff were very friendly and helpful but awkward when it came trying to organise a late check-out. Apparently it’s better to pre-arrange this before you arrive but I didn’t know that was an option. Would we go back? Probably not. It’s only 3 hours from the UK and the beach made it for us. Overall we did have a great time but for us the noise and the long queues for meals just spoilt it.
Pěkný hotel s krásnou pláží a čistým mořem. Pokoje světlé, opravené. Vždy s balkónem, na straně k bazénu vždy výhled na moře. Bazény čisté a voda teplá. Strava bohatá a některé dny speciální pokrmy. Personál milý a ochotný. Skvělé animace každý den! Od letiště vzdálenější, ale vše v tomto hotelu vám to vynahradí.
great hotel with great food and excellent gym coach
My partner and I have just returned from a 7 night stay at Nozha Beach; we were on holiday with family who were under a different booking ROOMS We stayed in room 2183. The room was modern and clean, although a little small. The wardrobe/cupboards were next to the door, and opposite the bathroom, so not a lot of space for manoeuvring. The bathroom was also small, especially the shower/bath. The mattress was firm but comfortable. The pillows were too firm for my liking, but there was a spare pillow in the wardrobe which was softer. There was a safe and a balcony with chairs/a table, and a space for drying clothes. We’d booked a garden view room, however received a pool view room with partial sea view. The view was great. We were concerned about noise as the room was opposite a lift, and also near the amphitheater. However, the entertainment finishes at 11pm and we didn’t hear any noise outside the room. Despite this, the walls are quite thin; we heard our neighbours very loudly in the early hours of one morning. FOOD There are multiple restaurants at the hotel. A main, indoor buffet restaurant, a beach, outdoor buffet restaurant, two à la carte restaurants, and a snack bar next to the pool. The main restaurant was hit and miss in terms of food selection and taste. Some days we really enjoyed the food, other days we were left disappointed. The snack bar served crepes, waffles, ice cream, sandwiches, and Tunisian donuts every day from 3pm which was fantastic. We opted to try the Mediterranean à la carte restaurant one evening which was really nice. DRINKS There are multiple bars dotted around the hotel, both indoor and outdoor. Drinks were always easy to get with minimal queues, sometimes no queues. There is a cocktail menu with a good selection, and bar staff will make the drinks with minimal alcohol if requested. Drinks are served with ice, but we never encountered any stomach issues. POOL There are 3 pools - a main pool, a kid’s pool, and a small pool for the slides. The main pool was a decent size, although became crowded as the hotel was fully booked. The pool looked cloudy on multiple occasions, and one morning was dirty with floating debris. There were reports of poo being found in the pool on a few occasions. There are 3 slides which operate during certain times of the day. The slides are a free-for-all where kids are left to their own devices to check if the slides/pool is clear before taking their turn. There is always a lifeguard on duty, however on one occasion I saw them on their phone for an extended period and not taking any notice of the slides. There are plenty of sun beds however you do have to wake up early to reserve them. BEACH There is a private beach which is clean, and the sea is clear. We swam in the sea on multiple occasions; there were no jelly fish and you can see plenty of fish which is nice. STAFF The staff work incredibly hard and work noticeably long hours. A special mention for a waiter in the main restaurant who looked after us for a whole week. A table of 8 was always ready with a high chair and drinks. I didn’t catch his name, however he was brilliant. Thank you so much TIPPING You do not need to tip at this hotel to receive food or better service; the staff are great regardless of tips. We only provided tips to staff at the end of our stay to those who looked after us day after day, such as the kind waiter. ENTERTAINMENT The animation team are friendly and work hard to provide entertainment. A member of the animation team made an effort to say hello to every single person around the pool each morning. He remembered our names after day one. The animation team don’t approach you or pressure you to join any activities which we really appreciated. The evening entertainment is varied. We didn’t watch it often as the amphitheatre was outdoors, and was hot even at night, however we did enjoy the bits we saw. ACTIVITIES There are various activities throughout the day such as aqua gym, Zumba, volleyball, quizzes, darts etc. Overall, I did enjoy my stay at Nozha Beach and would recommend it to others. Personally, I wouldn’t stay here again merely down to the food choices.
We had a fabulous week at this hotel booked via TUI. We had 4 adults and 4 teenage boys in our group. The hotel facilities are of a high standard and the hotel staff work hard to keep everything clean and tidy, in the hotel itself and around the pool area. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and created a welcoming and positive atmosphere. We found a wide variety of food available at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and we particularly liked the crepes, waffles and Tunisian donuts available from 3pm each day at the pool bar as an afternoon snack. Ice cream and sorbet is also served at this time. Beer, red, white and rose wine is available along with a range of cocktails. Bottled water was accessible at all times from the bars. We enjoyed dinner at both à la carte restaurants (Tunisian and Mediterranean) - you can book these in advance at a table just outside the main buffet restaurant - a member of staff is available every morning to help with this. You are requested to pre-order the courses for your group. Shout out to Marco, on the animation team who gave an amazing fire breathing display at the TUI night held, and led a brilliant aqua aerobic class in the pool. It was great to have activities available and also quiet areas if you prefer peace. The indoor pool provides a welcome break from the hot sun. The sea was lovely and warm, and shallow so that it is possible to walk out and swim safely. We noticed the life guards working hard to safeguard those who had swum out too far and a high standard of care was provided. There are a few beach sellers (towels, beach dresses and jewellery) and they were very friendly, a polite no thank you was respected with no hassle or hard sell. At times, there was a shortage of cutlery, cups and plates in the buffet, which was a challenge for the waiters, and so this is one area of improvement we would suggest. Although we appreciate we were there in peak school holiday season. The small on-site shop has a range of gifts and snacks. There are several other shops outside the main gates of the hotel. Recommend bringing your own pool tools. Hotel towels provided require a deposit to be left which is returned at end of stay. We would come again to this hotel and highly recommend to others.
