Başka Resort Bodrum

We travelled as a couple to Baska resort and it was our first trip to Turkey. We chose the resort because we could see that it had been newly renovated and we wanted a high-quality all inclusive resort with lots of different places to eat and relax during our stay. On arrival, which was very late at night, we were impressed with the welcome that we received. Our room was lovely, but actually this was the least impressive element of our stay, as it wasn't one of the bigger rooms (I think this was just the luck of the draw!) Nevertheless, it was clean and had everything we needed (although a full-length mirror would have been a helpful addition.) One of the absolute highlights of our trip was Hotel Manager, Hasan. Hasan whatsapped us on our first morning to ensure we had everything we needed and throughout our trip, he was always there to help us with anything (I actually don't know if he ever went home, because he was constantly available!) During our trip, I was unwell and needed to see a doctor, and Hasan arranged this and had us taken to a nearby clinic. He then texted each day to check I was OK. We were the first guests to visit the Baska resort with Jet 2, and as such, we were treated like celebrities! We visited both A La Carte Restaurants (seafood and Italian) where the quality of the service and food were excellent. On our final day, we were treated to a day in a beach Cabana, which was absolutely brilliant - we enjoyed being waited on hand and foot, served with cocktails, fruit and snacks as we sunbathed. We loved the vibe of the hotel. The beach club was chilled out, and I really enjoyed the DJ sessions in the afternoons. The constant availability of high quality and freshly cooked food was a real highlight. There is entertainment in the evenings if that is your thing, and there are lots of different spaces where you can sit with a book or laze in the sun. I really enjoyed the roof terrace with the swing seats. We took a day trip to Kos as part of the holiday, which we really enjoyed. We arranged this with Jet 2, but it would be equally easy to arrange from the Marina in Bodrum itself. We used Taxis when we needed to and found them relatively cheap and accessible. Bodrum itself has some nice shops and cafes/bars, but I sometimes found the sales tactics in shops a little overwhelming and we certainly experienced some inflated prices for tourists. Overall, despite being ill, it was a lovely and relaxing holiday, and we can't speak highly enough about Hasan and his team.

This was our first trip to Turkey and what a great introduction. The hotel is perched on the side of a promontory and laid out over several terraces leading down to the sea, the journey from Bodrum airport taking about 40 minutes in a cab. We wanted an adult centered hotel with a quality all-inclusive package. The team delivered a great experience with a room issue quickly resolved by Hassan who made sure that our stay was an exceptional one. The rooms are clean and well equipped and ours had great views over the bay with sun loungers on the balcony so we could watch the sun set with a drink. A short walk up the road outside the hotel led to the Bodrum Windmills, with great views across the bays, another great spot to watch the sunset. The standard of catering was very high, I think this was one of the best buffet restaurants, in terms of quality, choice and variety that I have tasted. Breakfast, lunch or dinner were equally good. Dotted around the terraces are snack bars, grills, coffee shops, ice cream parlor and some street food style stalls. All this gives a great "feel" of being in a Turkish village. Several bars are spread over the site, and fridges are stocked with drinks that can be taken freely. My wife and grown children tasting many cocktails during our stay. We also sampled the Italian and Fish restaurants which need to be reserved in advance. Evening entertainment was low key with the largest area being at the top of the hill, near reception. This has the advantage of not causing any noise issues for those who wanted to relax in their rooms. My son also made use of the well-equipped gym on several days. At sea level there are many sun loungers and cabanas, you can choose a quiet spot or one closer to the bar and music. The hotel does not have a beach but steps lead into the water which is quite shallow so no worries of you are not a confident swimmer. Sun loungers are taken up quickly but there is always some available somewhere. We were lucky to have a cabana which was a luxurious addition. Whilst the hotel had an international clientele many guests appeared to come from Turkey. This enhanced our experience and supported our view that the best place to go is where the "locals" go! All establishments have some rough edges and on a couple of occasions we needed to ask for more supplies to be put in our room or fix a broken light. These were quickly resolved however, but I mention them for balance. Finally, I want to say is that no matter how good a hotel is physically it is the actions of the team, who are dedicated to making you feel important and ensuring you have a great stay, that made this holiday become a fantastic memory for us all. We stayed here for a week in September, and unfortunately, this hotel was a major disappointment. Our first room was unacceptable: dirty bathroom, hairs and dust, dirt behind the bed, unpleasant smell and damaged furniture. After complaining, we were moved to another room. It was somewhat better and had a beautiful sea view, but was still dirty behind the bed. The worn-out polyester sheets were heavily pilled and extremely hot to sleep in. And the biggest problem: we found huge bugs in our room almost every day throughout our stay. But what disappointed us most was the service. The hotel genuinely feels designed primarily for Turkish-speaking/local guests, while international guests are treated as second-class. We experienced this repeatedly at the bars, towel station and restaurant. Turkish-speaking guests were approached and served first, while we were often left waiting and ignored. At the lobby bar, my boyfriend waited several minutes. A Turkish-speaking guest arrived after him and was served first. Even that guest pointed out that my boyfriend had been waiting, yet the bartender still seemed annoyed. We never expected special treatment — only the same basic respect as every other paying guest. The one exception was Inan, a waiter in the restaurant, who was genuinely friendly, attentive and welcoming. Beautiful views and good DJ sets cannot make up for poor cleanliness, bugs, worn-out rooms and unequal treatment. If you are an international traveller and do not speak Turkish or Russian, think very carefully before booking this hotel.

Had the most amazing time at this resort which is all inclusive in every sense. Beautiful newly done, very close to mett and other older popular resorts. The food and drinks are available 7am thru 3am at night! The staff is most wonderful esp Hasan their manager, he helped me finish my urgent work calls from his own office and helped us on every small request. Rest of his team including tatiana and all are most wonderful, gave us a great terrace bar recommendation. Views from the room are amazing. The spa is also amazing, highly recommend a hammam, sauna and massage experience. On tue night they had an amazing dj blast the best music as well. Just note that this up an hill and has steps with elevators but during peak seasons you may have to wait for elevators though i saw many families with small kids/prams, etc. 5 stars out of 5. Piano playing was amazing too...just also note that if you stay here, you feel guilty going outside for activities as the food/drinks at the resort is missed!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we truly felt at home and incredibly well taken care of. Everything was simply perfect. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, the beach is stunning, and the food is absolutely extraordinary , every meal was a real pleasure. A very special mention to Hassan, who was there for us throughout our entire stay. His kindness, attentiveness and genuine care made our experience even more special. He always made sure that everything was perfect and that we felt comfortable and welcomed. We are leaving with wonderful memories and honestly wished we could have stayed longer. A beautiful place with exceptional service, we would absolutely come back!
