We stayed 14 days from the 7th April. This review is detailed so as to help you make a decision if this hotel is for you. First impressions of the hotel are not great, on arrival opposite the entrance to the hotel is a large building project which appears to have been in progress for years and there was some work being done while we were there. The entrance and particularly the reception desk area are underwhelming. At the front of the hotel the setting is gorgeous, Fethiye town and its harbour are surrounded by large mountains to the south, to the west lots of Islands with Rhodes just visible on the horizon, more mountains to the north, beautiful sunsets and a long promenade. Dolmus’s (mini bus) or the water taxi run into Fethiye. Our first room was on the 1st floor across from reception and was tucked in next to a large external fire escape, which made the room feel closed in and gloomy, not somewhere we wanted to stay for 14 nights. The wardrobe as with many other rooms has a large structural pillar running through it which makes it quite small. I was told all the wardrobes were like this which is not the case. After a number of days we were offered a room with a bright outlook and were given 12 extra coat hangers. Guests who had stayed previously had taken extra coat hangers. The rooms have a free to use safety box which is good. The shower was good, the bed was comfortable and very importantly the room was quiet at night. Amenities - there is a free of charge sauna and hamman room, where ever we have stayed you can use these anytime of the day but here you had to book a slot, this just got a bit bizarre, one day ahead maximum and 1st thing in the morning for the following day the sauna was fully occupied between 14.00 to 19.00. I went a number of times but gave up on the booking process, it’s not what you want to be doing on holiday. The pool area is multi level with 3 tiered pools and there are lots of good quality comfortable sun beds. The pool bar was good and there is a lot of seating between the pool area and the promenade. Mete runs a number of activities around the pool, he works hard is enthusiastic and is a whole lot of fun, he made our stay so enjoyable, cannot speak highly enough about his dedication and professionalism. I saw Ozge for some stretching sessions in the gym, she was very considerate and professional and is a lovely person. Food - generally good but there are some areas which need improvement. On our first visit to the buffet one of the first things I saw were items being emptied out of plastic bags into the deep friers, not a good start. There are three food areas in the buffet, to the left lots of good appetisers, soups, fruit and deserts, sadly the only juice there was carrot juice. The main buffet food was a bit hit and miss, a lot which was pre cooked and or bought in and was clearly limited by cost considerations. An awful lot of dishes had a covering of melted cheese. One night we had moussaka, it was a mass of mush with poor quality meat. On the plus side there were some very good dishes especially dishes like stuffed peppers. At the far side of the dining room there is another area which at breakfast has waffles, simit bread etc and at other meal times has grilled fish, pizzas, pides etc and all were good. There are two bookable al a carte restaurants, the Turkish one is outside between the buffet restaurant and the promenade. We went once and while the starters and deserts were good the mains let it down, the lamb kebabs were very tough and of poor quality, the rib eye steak was just acceptable. The service was very good. The Italian al a carte is located on the 3rd floor and has a fantastic outlook. Our 1st meal here was very good. Our next meal there was not good, the octopus dish was not as described, I love a seafood pizza so choose the pizza marinara, it was nothing like any marinara pizza I have had and was nothing like the menu description, or in fact like no other pizza I have had, it was basically a pizza base and a huge mass of cheese, I physically could not eat all of it and another diner next to us ate even less of his pizza marinara. I could not eat anything else. I reported it to the relevant staff members. We had a 3rd visit and had a good meal, shared the rolled beef starter, had steaks and deserts. The service was excellent. Other guests who ate at the al a cartes mentioned inconsistency’s in line with our own experiences. Drinks - these are very good with a varied selection of cocktails. Entertainment - just before we arrived it had been held outside, it was then moved inside because of the cold. It then moved outside for a little while. We had a little rain and the entertainment was cancelled, we know the reason why the entertainment did not come back indoors. I and other guest enjoyed the entertainment. Cleanliness - a team worked tirelessly cleaning inside and outside ensuring everywhere was spotless Staff - they are fantastic, hard working, professional yet friendly. They all deserve our full thanks and are at the heart of this hotel. There are some that I would like to give a special thanks to, so in Turkish if I say sag ol and sonra gorusuruz you will know it’s you. In summary we really enjoyed our stay here, the setting is fantastic and while there were some misgivings with the food overall it was good.
