Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai

Belated review, we stayed in May 2025. The Nam Hai deserves all the recognition! Perfect setting, staff, and service. Despite some construction going on during our stay, it was perfect in every way. We really enjoyed the breakfast, pool areas, beach, and the Yoga classes. The bikes are great for getting around the resort. Perfect distance from Hoi An to be able to go in to town when you want. The small touches really add to the level of service. Gifts each night at turndown, a sunglass "doctor" at the pool, and thoughtful snacks during the trip. One of our favorite resorts we have ever stayed at, and hoping someday in the future we can return!

Overall, this is a truly top-notch property and, having stayed at many Four Seasons hotels, I would definitely say this is one of the most impressive. The entire resort is exceptionally beautiful, calming, and aesthetically striking — a place that is simply a pleasure to look at both by day and by night. The villa design, layout, and furnishings were stunning: modern, yet still with an Asian twist. We absolutely loved it — it felt very much like a true Four Seasons experience. The arrival amenities, including fruit, chocolates, and even champagne, made us feel very special from the beginning. The property as a whole always felt quiet, sophisticated, and beautifully maintained. The grounds are absolutely stunning — so expansive and architecturally impressive. Management was visibly present throughout the stay, regularly interacting with guests and engaging in genuine conversation, which added a lovely personal touch. Service was exactly what one would expect at this level: extremely efficient and delivered to a very high standard. Communication with the hotel was always effortless via WhatsApp — every request, question, booking, or enquiry was answered almost immediately and dealt with in no time at all. The staff were always kind, helpful, and very friendly, although at times I could not entirely shake the impression that some of them seemed rather stressed. The breakfast buffet was beautiful, plentiful, and offered many delicious things to eat. That said, I did not particularly like the repeated warning that breakfast would be finishing in 15 minutes. It was always delivered kindly and respectfully, but it nevertheless created a slight sense of being rushed. In addition, while the breakfast selection was generous, avocado on a croissant did not feel like the most convincing option for health-conscious guests. A chia pudding, for example, would have been a very welcome addition. One point that felt unnecessarily strict was the handling of the quiet pool. Of course, I fully understand and appreciate the idea behind such a pool — especially as a calm space away from screaming children and toddlers. However, a quiet pool should still allow for natural human emotion. When staff feel obliged to remind guests of the pool rules after a single laugh shared between an adult and a 15-year-old girl, it feels rather disproportionate. A teenager laughing with her aunt should not be treated as though she is violating the spirit of the space. The gym and sports facilities were also excellent — modern, spotless, and maintained to perfection. Even something like playing badminton under floodlights felt luxurious. The only real thing I felt was missing was an additional internal restaurant option. The three existing restaurants delivered superb food, but to round off the offering, a fourth dining option would have been wonderful, or alternatively a broader and more open menu at Café Nam Hai. All in all, this is an exceptionally beautiful, sophisticated, and high-level resort — a truly aesthetic property and a memorable Four Seasons experience.

We have just returned from the Four Seasons as a group of 8. We stayed in the four-bedroom villa, which was absolutely stunning. The villa complex was maintained beautifully, the rooms were so comfortable, and the views down the beach to the sea from the pool were out of this world. From check-in to departure, every member of staff we came across was fantastic, friendly, and welcoming. Even walking to the gym at 6:30 (which was a great gym), I got a hello from all the wonderful grounds people I came across. We had in-villa dining a couple of times, which was laid out wonderfully and was more like bringing the restaurant to your room. We also organised a BBQ poolside at the villa—this was truly special. Amazing food and service where we learned more about Vietnamese food traditions and culture, and the villa was decorated beautifully. But, I have saved the best for last—Tiim! Tiim was our villa butler/concierge, and he was truly wonderful at his job. He knew our names, helped organise external dinner reservations, organised the previously mentioned BBQ, and would appear with wonderful fruit juices by the pool with cool towels. He would bring us lovely cut fruit plates. He kept the whole villa in tip-top condition. He also remembered what drinks/ice we had asked for on previous days, so in the evenings they would be waiting in the main area for us—he was great. Oh, I almost forgot the staff at the breakfast as well; they knew us by name on arrival and were very attentive and extremely friendly.

I usually read many reviews from various sources before selecting a hotel. In the case of the Four Seasons The Nam Hai, the reviews usually start with something like this: ‘I have traveled the world and stayed at many top resorts, the Four Seasons The Nam Hai is one of the top.’ Having read those reviews, my expectations were high. I am happy to say, those expectations were met. And, having traveled the world and stayed at many top resorts, the Four Seasons The Nam Hai truly is one of the nicest resorts in the world. The resort and its facilities are beautiful. The service is amazing. I can only find one fault (more on that later). The Four Seasons experience started at the Da Nang airport where we met our driver. In short order, we were whisked away and 30 minutes later we arrived at the Four Seasons. We were escorted immediately to our villa, where we checked in. We were traveling with friends and stayed in a two bedroom pool villa (#1020). At the villa, we met Ms. Ahn, the butler who would be taking care of us during our stay. The villa itself was at the edge of the resort property and quite a trek to the restaurants and pools. But, not to worry, each villa has its own set of bikes to get around. The beach and the grounds of the resort are nothing short of spectacular and we enjoyed using the bikes to get around. Lush green gardens give way to the beautiful beach and ocean. The three resort pools are very large and are surrounded by loungers and cabanas. Within 30 minutes of arriving at the villa we were in bathing suits and in the pool. A late lunch and cocktails arrived 15 mins later. We were quite impressed with the villa. The building with the central living and dining room was quite large and afforded a beautiful view out to the pool and the ocean beyond. The stand out feature of the villa was absolutely the infinity-edged pool with the view out to the ocean. As a group of friends, we spent hours in the pool relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. We were also able to enjoy lunch by the pool at the outdoor dining table. In the evenings, we retreated inside to the large dining room to share meals and play games. The bedrooms, if you can call them that, are separate structures and probably larger than most NY apartments. Our bedroom included a sleeping area, sitting area, study, terrace and a bathroom with an outdoor shower garden. The villa was immaculate. Having stayed in many Four Seasons before and having our own Four Seasons bed at home, going to sleep at night felt absolutely perfect. I love the very plump king sized pillows and the down comforter - nothing better. I also very much enjoyed the garden shower. Toiletries at the Four Seasons are from Natura Bisse. As for the one complaint / fault I could find, it is related to the various levels of the villa. The villa steps down from the bathroom to the sleeping area and then again to the sitting area. At night, the villa is very dark and the steps are not illuminated, making getting up at night a bit treacherous - nothing a flashlight can’t solve, but something to note. While we were at the Four Seasons, we took advantage of in room dining as well as breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Food was excellent across the board. While we would normally prefer to have breakfast in the villa, I will say that breakfast in the main restaurant is absolutely worth getting out of bed for - the spread was amazing, featuring Asian as well as Western cuisine. My personal breakfast favorite was the beef pho, but with so many options you will be spoiled for choice. During the day, still being full from breakfast, we typically ordered light bites around the pool. Everything arrived piping hot and was delicious. On our last night, we went to dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant where they were offering a street food tasting. Again, the variety and quality of the food was amazing. We ordered so many dishes that it is hard to recall them all and claim favorites. One night we took the resort shuttle into Hoi An and had dinner at the (original) Morning Glory restaurant - the service was quick and the food was excellent. While we only made it into Hoi An on one occasion, the coffee bar and restaurant scene there is excellent and you could easily return again and again. Shuttle transfers at specifics times are complimentary. Last, but certainly not least, our butler, Ms. Ahn, was absolutely wonderful and anticipated our every need - arranging a buggy, extra pool towels, breakfast before departure, sunscreen, making dinner reservations, etc. In addition, Ahn also provided us with little extras that we did not know we needed - fruit and cocktails by the pool, a special bath with rose petals, ironing our clothes, etc. Ahn was integral to our overall experience and representative of the service that sets the Four Seasons apart from the others. If you look for a place to relax and forget about the world, don’t even think twice about the Four Seasons The Nam Hai.

Had an excellent stay here in a three bedroom beach front pool villa. Villas are well appointed and comfortable with plenty of outside space facing the beach. It is an extremely well run hotel. Our butler - Sue - was exceptional - attentive and discreet and made our stay particularly happy. Hoi An is close by for restaurants and shopping. The beach is empty and good but not the most beautiful in the world , the sea a bit rough when we stayed but the hotel facilities and service at the hotel are top notch.
