Krásný hotel, velice jsme si užily naši dovolenou. Je zde velice krásný výhled. Moc jsme si užili moře a pláž. jde zde skvělá restaurace a jídlo je výborné. Animační tým je velice přátelský a milý. Speciálně musíme pochválit Polinu, velice milá a přátelská. také servis v hotelu vyborný. pokoje krásné a čistě uklizené. Určitě se brzy vratíme zpět.

We stayed for 3 nights all of the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the bed is so very comfortable. The pool is bigger than we thought Fabulous hotel for the price in. Great location with less than 10 minute walk to the beach

⭐ 1/5 — AVOID THIS HOTEL. THE PHOTOS ARE EXTREMELY DECEIVING. I genuinely wish I had listened to the negative reviews before booking this hotel. If you are considering staying at Canary Hotel in Zanzibar, please think twice before spending your money here. The reality of our stay has been completely different from the impression you get from the photos when booking. Since arriving, it has been one problem after another. The Wi-Fi barely works. We actually had to CHANGE ROOMS because of the Wi-Fi, only to discover that it is still absolutely terrible in the new room. The shower was leaking, the door was broken, and the air conditioning works whenever it feels like it — constantly going on and off. These are already unacceptable problems for a hotel people are paying good money to stay in, but somehow they aren’t even the worst part. The biggest issue is the regular loss of WATER AND ELECTRICITY. This has now happened to us TWICE during our stay. At the time of writing this review, we have been without water for more than an hour. My sister is literally STUCK IN THE SHOWER WITH SHAMPOO IN HER HAIR because the water suddenly stopped working. We cannot shower, wash ourselves properly or even use the toilet normally. Because of this, we have now lost a restaurant booking we had made. Imagine coming all the way to Zanzibar on holiday, making plans and reservations, and then missing them because your hotel cannot provide something as basic as RUNNING WATER. A temporary outage can happen anywhere, and I would understand that. But when the same thing keeps happening alongside broken facilities, unreliable air conditioning and terrible Wi-Fi, it becomes completely unacceptable. What frustrates me even more is how DECEIVING THE HOTEL LOOKS IN THE BOOKING PHOTOS. Looking at the pictures online, you would expect a completely different standard. The photos make the property look beautiful, polished and far more luxurious than the experience we have actually had. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL BASED on the photos alone. When you travel this far and spend this much money on a holiday, you should not have to wonder whether you will have electricity, whether the air conditioning will work, whether you can connect to Wi-Fi or, unbelievably, whether water will actually come out of the shower. We came to Zanzibar to enjoy our holiday, not to repeatedly deal with basic hotel facilities failing. I very rarely feel strongly enough to tell other travellers to completely avoid somewhere, but based on our experience, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CANARY HOTEL. PLEASE STAY AWAY. There are so many hotels in Zanzibar competing for your money. Spend it somewhere that can at least provide the basics. If I had known before booking what our experience here would actually be like, I would NEVER have booked this hotel. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

The place was really beautiful. The environment was amazing, the food was great, and there was also a nice space for parties. They even have a swimming pool right there, so the whole atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and having a good time.

My sister, friend and I booked a triple suite at Canary Hotel and Spa. We arrived very late at night after completing our 3 day safari in Serengeti national park and the Ngorongoro conservation area. We were warmly greeted by Denis on reception who took all our luggage up to our room and explained everything. Unfortunately we encountered a couple of problems in that particular room which we reported to Denis. The manager Muhammed was also present and they both immediately set out to address our needs. Cleaners were called upon to prepare two last minute rooms for us just so we could sleep the night as they could see we were very tired after our long journey. The following day they had a different triple suite ready for us which we were very grateful for. The hospitality the staff offered, from the reception, to the dining area, the Choum tours guys, the cleaning staff, even the security guards, was simply heartwarming. Everyone always carried a smile, they were always very pleasant and friendly, always asking us how we were and if we needed anything. We even had the operational manager approach my sister and ask how our stay was and to let him know personally if we needed anything. I very much enjoyed our stay here. Even though we didn't make full use of everything this hotel has to offer as we were always out, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient location to stay. It's actually the staff that make this hotel such a great place.
