Jambo Matemwe! We stayed here for 5 nights on the last part of our honeymoon, and we had the most wonderful stay at this amazing hotel. Firstly the setup and design of the hotel is stunning - we stayed in a Deluxe villa with a pool and sea view, it was perfect for relaxing in the day and enjoying a drink in the evening before dinner. A real highlight of our stay was how friendly, welcoming and lovely all the staff were, and we'd like to shoutout some of the team in particular for making our stay so memorable. We received a warm welcome from Thobias on our arrival and he would always say hello when we saw him throughout our stay. We went to the Upepo bar daily and would like to shoutout Allen and the team for being attentive and friendly. In the restaurant we loved meeting Pendo and Lillian who we saw daily and were always so welcoming and friendly! Anzel our room attendant also made our day with a lovely note to congratulate us on our honeymoon, so thankyou to her as well! Finally, the staff arranged a great evening meal on the beach for us to celebrate our honeymoon, so thankyou to Mary and the rest of the team that organised this. Finally, we were impressed with the amount of entertainment and activities on offer from art lessons to traditional dances in the evening, and we enjoyed the outdoor cinema. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and asante sana for making our honeymoon so special!

Beautiful location, very peaceful. The friendly and efficient staff made it a very stress free holiday.

We arrived in Matemwe after a 2 week safari, and a couple of days in Stonetown. The drive to Matemwe village was scenic and we enjoyed seeing the lives of Zanzibarians on the way. We arrived at the hotel to a lovely welcome and smile from Antonia. Our first impression was very impressive, and as expected, as it wasn't too busy which is what we wanted for a chill time, after a safari. The surrounding were amazing with loads of resting areas, a couple of pools and loungers near the beach. Antonia walked us to our room and provided us we all the necessary info for an amazing stay. We had a very spacious swim up room with with so many little touches including water bottles and a beach bag for you possessions. The customer services from the team was second to none. We would like to thank the following staff for making our stay very comfortable. Allen - Who went over and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. Thanks for your suggestions and caring nature. He is such a hard worker. Serggio - The entertainment coordinator. Another hardworker who goes out of his way to ensure that the guest are entertained. We really enjoyed the cookery lessions and the walk to the village. There were so many others who make our hotel special that we didn't want to leave. Wished we had spent a full week.. or more, instead of 5 days. Special thanks goes out to the following staff for exceptional service and warm smiles during our stay: John, Victoria, Luki, Lilian, there were many more who names I have forgotten, but also wanted to thank management for running a successful hotel with the emphasis being on making the guest feel as comfortable as possible. Well done!!

Location - beautiful views of the sea, but very remote. Can’t use beach at all because a) if you step out onto it you get harassed by locals selling you things b) when its low tide, c) even high tide you can’t because its rocky / lots of boats / lots of seaweed so isn’t pleasant. In summary - can’t really step out of the hotel unless it’s for an organised tour. Service - very friendly staff. Made mistakes quite often with orders etc but nothing too bad. A couple we met got told the wrong time for their tour and were made to wait an extra hour because of it. Not great communication. They didn’t explain anything about what the hotel provides / tours available on arrival either. Later we asked and then they gave us the website where we could look everything up. Catering - food is very average in the buffet. Breakfast was good. The other restaurant on site has better quality food, just be prepared to wait 45 mins. Room - amazing, as beautiful as the pictures. Public areas - really nice decor and design. The pool and bars etc really lovely. Best part about the hotel as well as the room.

The most relaxing, calm resort I have ever had the privilege to experience. The staff need the most praise as each and every one of them has been welcome, friendly, happy and keen to ensure we were always satisfied with the food and drink. Our room was a villa with a private Pool and seating area, it was fantastic. Couldn’t fault anything. We didn’t venture out of the resort as I felt the trips were quite expensive and we didn’t want to be hassled by locals! However the range of dining and seating areas made it easy to stay put! If you want to swim in clear blue seas this isn’t the place for you, there are coral and rocks which make it hard to enter the sea.
