Matemwe Attitude

From the moment you walk in, you feel looked after and appreciated. The wow factor is huge, it is stunning and inviting. The staff cannot do enough for you. Big shout out to Ibrahim, he ferried us backwards and forwards to our bungalow as my partner does not walk very well, always keen to help, also Anthony in the Upepo bar, entertaining and always smiling. Bungalow was immaculate, spacious and comfortable, towels, bathrobes and water bottles supplied, drinking water topped up regularly. Food was not altogether to our taste, it was varied, but a lot of local influences, having said that, it was beautifully presented, and one of the chefs Musli always made sure there was something to suit us. Entertainment was good. One negative is the fact you get accosted on the beach by vendors, and you couldn’t really leave the grounds to explore. All in all a fantastic place.

Lovely beach resort with excellent service at the heart of everything they do. We enjoyed lovely roomy bungalow with a swim up pool and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of honeymoon couples here as it’s adult only resort. Mix of nationalities with a high proportion from the UK. Food is the best we experienced in Tanzania and we stayed at 4 other places on the mainland. You can chose packages- many are on all inclusive, we went half board leaving us open to graze in nearby restaurants for lunch. They put on a limited range of entertainment- we enjoyed an accompanied 5km power walk along the beach with visit to nearby village, a 5 km run round the resort, a short cookery session, aqua-fit session and a couple of evening shows/ live music. Recommend anyone staying here to book the beach restaurant so you avoid boredom of the buffet, albeit quality of food is excellent everywhere.

Perfect location, rooms are spacious and beautiful and very clean. The service was A1 especially the chef Muesli, I am gluten free and he so looked after me! The barman Anthony, the lovely Alice and Ibrahim. All the staff were friendly happy and would help with everything Beautiful pools. Lovely music.

I wanted to say thank you to the entire wonderful staff, including, without exception, all hotel employees, maintenance crew, housekeepers, waiters, bartenders, bellboys, reception, and the entertainment team. Special thanks go to Ali from the front desk and Lilian from the dining room. You gave us an amazing vacation and made us feel at home, like one big family. We had a wonderful stay at Matemwe Attitude and truly enjoyed every moment of our time at the resort. From the beautiful setting to the warm hospitality, the experience was made especially memorable by the incredible team. A special thank you to Masemo, the Front Office Manager, and his team, who took such great care of us throughout our stay. They were always attentive, welcoming, and ready to assist whenever needed. We would also like to thank Hassan, the F&B Manager, for his excellent service and attention to detail. A very special mention to Faidha and the rest of the team whose names we unfortunately didn't manage to catch your smiles, kindness, and genuine hospitality did not go unnoticed. The food was another highlight of our stay. Chef Sumesh and his team did a fantastic job, and special thanks to Muddy, the à la carte chef, for preparing some truly delicious meals. Every dining experience was enjoyable, and the care put into the food was evident. We also had the opportunity to enjoy a private beach dinner, which was a particularly special experience. Having dinner by the ocean in such a beautiful setting was unforgettable. We also enjoyed the spa, which was the perfect way to relax and unwind during our stay. What stood out most was the genuine warmth of the staff. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and clearly committed to making guests feel welcome. Thank you to the entire Matemwe Attitude team for looking after us so well and making our stay so memorable. We would happily return and would definitely recommend Matemwe Attitude to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable Zanzibar experience.
