Zanzibar Bay Resort

We booked this hotel through Secret Escapes. Combining the hotel with a 3 night safari at Selou. The hotel is vey good and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. There are a couple of types of room, Pool View and Beach View. We were located in the Beach View rooms thanks to the manager Ibrahim. The rooms are spacious and the views are spectacular. The downside is the travelling. We arrived at Gatwick Airport at 8.00 am on the Saturday and arrived at the hotel in Zanzibar at 6.30am Sunday. There are curently no non-stop flights from the UK to Zanzibar. The Safari was organised through Beachsafari.com. This was excellent. Our guide on day one and three was Sadick and he made the safaris even better. We saw a wide array of animals, a swim in a hot spring, and a lunch for two with a view that we will never forget. The camp had no fences so after dark we had to be escorted back to our hut by a Maasai warrior. We came across a warthog one night..! The huts are clean and well equipped with all the necessary modern facilities. All in all a trip of a lifetime and we enjoyed every minute

Namaste restaurant is incredible, really nice food and perfect attention. All the team specially Denis really kind. Will go back for sure.

Sigh! Where to start.? The whole experience was underwhelming for us. The most disappointing bit was the food. Breakfast is the same everyday. Nothing is tasty. Lunches and dinners are a scramble at the buffet place where food is served in small pots, which get depleted fast. The food is not tasty. It's very disappointing for fruits to be lacklustre in a tropical country where there there is a variety of many delicious fruits. Sometimes, some of the food and drinks do not taste fresh. There is no machine for lattes or cappuccino. Smoking all over! There is no designated smoking place and guests are smoking everywhere. If you go to the pool, you contend with smokers. Good luck getting a bed by the pool. How do you know it's time for turn down service? There will be a loud bang on the door. This hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating.

Everything so lovely, staff so respectful and friendly, food so nice. Jeremiah, Bryson, Amina, Housem, lovely stuff.

The staff and management were absolutely wonderful and service delivery was great. Loved the waitress Latifa at Namasthe Restaurant at Zanzibar Bay Resort. She was kind, caring, attentive and brilliant in service delivery. All the staff was awesome.
