Incompetent and unhelpful staff. The hotel is new and the atmosphere in the lobby is nice. Unfortunately, the receptionist was glued to his personal phone, I think at one point he was watching a film. And that'd be fine, if he could answer questions regarding location of events happening within the hotel. It felt like he didn't want to deal with us and his attitude was as if we were distubing him by asking questions about our stay. Also, upon arrival we were told we could have lunch one of the days of our stay instead of dinner. Once we arrived at the restaurant for lunch, staff told us that's incorrect and rushed us out of the restaurand in a rude way, without even listening. Such lack of coordination surprised me a lot. The food was not good, the chef was extremely friendly, but the dinner we had there was awful. Cold, tasteless, some of the chicken I had was not fully cooked, too. I was hoping for a relaxing and nice 5* stay. Instead, I got quite a stressful experience. Rude staff. Cold food. Leaking ceiling....

My hopes for this hotel were so high upon first visit, that it's the contrast with the reality which makes my experience more painful. As my wife and I decided on this hotel for our wedding, we couldn't be happier with our choice and the way we were treated/being accommodated. That was until we signed the contract. It became clear that they were not very willing partners in our event anymore when for *months*, our requests for meetings were met with "it's too soon, we only need to talk 1 month before". When the week of the wedding finally arrived, we were berated and accused of being terrible planners. The manager warned us to "remember this for your next wedding". An awful thing to say to a couple about to get married. Then the guests arrived: a confused employee at the front desk was unaware of our (well communicated) guest list and couldn't speak sufficient English OR Bulgarian(!) to get them checked in properly. Their first impression of luxury in the rooms quickly eroded when they realized there were loose sockets, cracking shower doors, flickering lights and more. NOT what you'd expect from a self proclaimed 5 star hotel. On the day of the wedding, our guests were denied lunch, with staff rudely turning back friends and elderly members of our family. Yet more unacceptable behaviour from staff. I won't go into too much detail about the wedding itself, since other guests have voiced their own personal concerns already about rude staff and cold food. I'd rather talk about the mentality of management at Poseidon. Wherever there is a smile and friendly greeting, it hides their greedy, disrespectful nature. The failure to take accountability is unheard of in any kind of establishment that tries to portray itself as high quality. Not only did they fail to meet basic standards, but they then attempt to blame their guests when confronted with their own failures. Calling your guests "Individuals associated with an organization that exerts pressure on the hotel through extortion." On public forums whenever there is valid critique is the perfect example of that. Instead of asking us to make the bad reviews go away, perhaps you should be more focused on your own team's incompetence and strive to improve your service. Your staff is just like your hotel: a mask with fake smiles and attempted luxury, but when the mask slips you quickly uncover the broken plugs, broken bathrooms and broken human decency. The only member of staff I respect was Ilyan: he was always aware of his teams shortcomings and tried to work towards solutions, whereas Margerita was more focused on "winning" and revelling in situations where she could hold her power over us. Let it be clear that this review is not an attempt at extortion, we don't want anything but to warn others of this hotel's awful management.

I'm disappointed with our experience at this hotel and sincerely regret choosing it as the venue for our wedding. It's concerning to be described as a “criminal organisation” simply because we did not discourage our guests from sharing their honest feedback. Since this response appears under every negative review, I want to make it clear that I'm simply a customer sharing an accurate account of my own experience with the below review. At the beginning, everything seemed promising. We received an excellent sales pitch and felt confident in our decision to book. However, once the contract was signed and the deposit paid, the standard of service changed. Several interactions with the sales and marketing manager, Margarita, were particularly unprofessional. During one discussion, she repeatedly joked, “Well you’ll know better for your next wedding,” following a miscommunication shortly before our event. She also commented that she is not married and doesn't believe in marriage-an inappropriate remark given the nature of our booking. Her attitude was condescending and unhelpful, but we chose to overlook it in hopes of a smooth celebration ... Dinner service was delayed, the food was cold and lacked quality and the non-alcoholic drinks we had paid for were not provided. The promised lunch for guests was also not served. Overall, the team appeared inexperienced and unprepared, with only two members demonstrating the professionalism expected from a venue of this standard. We are grateful for their efforts to salvage the event under challenging circumstances. I deeply regret coming to this hotel and introducing our guests, many of whom had travelled from abroad, to Bulgaria through such a disappointing experience. Numerous guests raised concerns directly with me, and I felt embarrassed by the level of service provided. Not just at the event but also during the stay. To be absolutely clear, I have no intention of damaging this hotel’s reputation. My only aim is to share an honest account of my experience so that others can make an informed decision.

Although we only stayed here for two nights, my impression of the hotel is negative. The hotel looks nice, indeed. The food is good. However, the staff seems inexperienced and unable to provide complete information. We arrived earlier than the check-in time and tried to ask at the reception if we could at least have the option to eat somewhere or use the pool. The staff gave us no information about what we should do next or where to find the hotel facilities. On the first evening, we asked at the reception about beach access cards. They told us to simply come the next day before going to the beach. The next morning, we went at 9 a.m. to the reception to ask for the cards, and they told us they had none left, as the spots were limited and already taken. Of course, we pointed out the wrong information given by the receptionist the night before, who failed to mention that the spots were limited and we had to come as early as possible. If you plan to come here, arm yourself with patience because of the staff. And let’s not forget about parking spaces – they are limited and need to be reserved in advance. Otherwise, you’ll have to figure out what to do with your car.

The hotel is really great! I did not even expect such a level of service from Bulgaria! The waiters are nice and polite! The reception is a very nice guy from Ukraine, who is always ready to help. The cleaning is very high quality and it is daily! The food is 5 stars, every day I ate seafood, all my wishes were fulfilled. The sea is beautiful, wonderful and it is close by. Convenient location is another plus. As a tourist with a lot of experience, I sincerely recommend Poseidon 5*! Keep up the good work!
