Punta Cana Princess

Our 4th stay at the Punta Cana Princess “adults only” resort & spa, in a year & 4 months! 2 years in a row celebrating my birthday here in April! It literally just keeps getting better! What a fantastic time, returning to our favorite place in the sun! It’s always so refreshing & relaxing! The staff have become like family & they go above and beyond to accommodate & make you feel right at home. We appreciate each & every one of them for their top tier service, kindness and making my birthday experience unforgettable once again! Hats off to Alexander in guest services!! The grounds are kept beautifully groomed. We love the smaller resort vibe with the ease of access to amenities. The Princess is the perfect balance of relaxation & entertainment. Our room was very clean & maintained very nicely on a daily basis. The mini fridge always well stocked, always fresh bath & beach towels. We enjoy dining at all the Ala cart restaurants. The fondue is our favorite. We love the Italian & always enjoy the VIP upgrade lobster dinner (I get steak) at the steakhouse. Which is phenomenal! We have never had a bad meal at this resort & we have always been able to find something to eat 24/7!!! Breakfast at the main buffet is a must, for one of Henry’s custom made omelets! With access to the sister resort, you have other dining options & we always pop in the sports bar next door, after a long walk on the beach, for a cold drink & appetizers. We have enjoyed hibachi at the sister resort.& drinks at the rooftop bar. But, keep in mind it’s family friendly. We love the poolside entertainment during the afternoon & the nightlife at the Princess, always fun times happening at either the lobby or at the beach! We have danced the night away, sang karaoke, been in contests, made many new friends from all around the world. All age groups, couples & we’ve met a lot of solo travelers, as well as guests that have returned 6, 10, 20, 34 times to the Princess! It’s seriously the best of the Dominican vibe at such an excellent price point! The beach!! It’s spectacular! As part of the VIP upgrade, you have access to the Bali beds & beach waiter service! The ocean, the breeze, the palms, all things on Bavaro beach are amazing!! The Spa Metamorphosis is a must for massages & hair salon pampering! With VIP, we schedule a time daily for use of the sauna & relaxing pool. Usually after our couples massages. Massages are discounted with VIP. The fitness gym is located inside the spa. It’s small & busy in the mornings, but we got our workouts in… Drinks… I don’t drink beer at home! When in the DR I love a cold presidente with extra lime. Banana mama’s are YUM!! VIP gives you top shelf selections. I may slide in a jack & coke here and there, but we’re so random with trying different drinks throughout our stay, it’s not a game changer what’s top shelf, what’s not! It’s just that the drinks are great, not slacking whatsoever & always made with love! To wrap up this review… We Love the Punta Cana Princess & can’t wait for our 5th visit back to the DR to our Home Away from Home!!

Definitely not a 5-star experience – waste of money My stay at Punta Cana Princess was extremely disappointing. Every morning, there was no water in the room – no shower, no running water, nothing. I called reception multiple times, and every time they said, “it will be fixed in 15 minutes.” In reality, it took hours. The only explanation we got was some vague excuse about a pipeline that “needs to be wider.” Absolutely unacceptable for a so-called 5-star hotel. On top of that, I called to ask for a rain umbrella because I had an excursion and it was pouring. They said someone was on the way – no one ever came. They just leave you hanging. And then the beach: way too few beach loungers, so if you’re not early, you’re out of luck. Towels often run out, and the staff acts like it’s your problem. They honestly couldn’t care less. This hotel clearly doesn’t give a damn about its guests. The service is awful, the communication is poor, and the facilities are below standard. This might be a 3-star hotel at best, but definitely not 5. There are plenty of better hotels in Punta Cana where you’ll actually get what you pay for. My advice: stay far away from this place.
