Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & SPA

We recently returned from the Secrets Esmeralda. We stayed in a junior suite partial Ocean view in the preferred section. Honestly, this room really could’ve been marketed as an ocean view, it was awesome. Claudio was our personal butler, and he was an absolute gem! He assisted us several times during our stay and checked in with us daily asking if he could help with anything. If you choose to stay here, I hope you get him as your personal butler. He’s a great one! We really enjoyed all of the preferred areas, especially the preferred pool, the rosewater restaurant and the preferred lounge. They also had daily activities around the preferred pool, which were a lot of fun. We tried a few of the restaurants and we liked everything we had, but our favorites were the steakhouse and the mediterranean. I would recommend this resort for a nice relaxing vacation.

Had a great vacation. Our host was great she keep everything in order and made all our dinner reservations and anything we needed for the room she made sure we got. Rooms were clean and pool was very nice. We didn’t have anything to complain about at all.

We had such an amazing stay at Secrets Playa Esmeralda! The resort is beautiful, the location is stunning, and everything was absolutely perfect. But honestly, what made our stay truly special was the people. The staff were incredible from beginning to end, and they deserve so much recognition! A huge shoutout to the entertainment team — Benjamin, Brenda, Acuaman and Nelson! They were honestly the sweetest. Always smiling, full of energy, and in such a good mood, they made every day more fun and enjoyable. Their positive energy was contagious, and they really made us feel welcome and included. We’ll definitely remember them! ❤️ The service at all the different restaurants was also amazing. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and attentive. We especially want to thank Yessika for always being so warm and welcoming, and Leandro, who made our breakfasts such a lovely part of our mornings. He was always smiling, so attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Those little interactions really made a difference! A special thank you to Alejandro at the Asian restaurant as well. He gave us such a warm and wonderful welcome and made us feel truly special. His hospitality was exceptional! And we absolutely have to mention the entire pool bar team. They were AMAZING! Always friendly, smiling, attentive, and ready to help. They made our days by the pool even better and created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Honestly, while the resort itself is beautiful, the staff are what truly make Secrets Playa Esmeralda stand out. Everyone we met was so kind and genuinely seemed to care about making guests feel happy and comfortable. We left with so many amazing memories, and we really hope that the team members we mentioned receive the recognition they deserve. It was awesome! Everything was so clean, and people were so friendly. We will be back. The food and drinks were also amazing! Couldn't have asked for a better trip!

The staffers that made a difference at Preferred club in room 7222 and 7219 has a better ocean view. Some people come for beach and Sun only (Pool is not the same and was often dirty) , if you dont clean the beach and pool all the time - I will not be coming. you need to get a tractor and clean the seaweed from beach area. Seaweed came only after the storm. When the seaweed wasnt there the beach was beautiful. Staffers that made a difference, Preferred bar, Adrian Butlers, Yeudy and Juan Carlos Restaurant staff at rosewater, Dyson and Emilio Room cleaning staff for both rooms were great! Entertainment - Brenda was great! Social event was great but too much focus on Latin music - You have visitors from all over the world, you need to have music for all generes (Dance, Classic, House, HipHop) Halftime club, needs to play various music genres and not just latin music. Please eliminate the silent headset dance event (Not fun at all! ) - on a nice warm night, the best thing to do is to listen to music and dance in the show area and NOT in the headphone. CoCo Cafe - Medaline was great Please communicate with all restaurant staff, that if a spoon or knife or fork falls on the ground - DO NOT put back on table, use a clean utensil. I observed one staffer (Girl) at main secrets breakfast buffet pickup a utensil after she dropped and put back on table. Food was not consistent - at Castaway, i had lobster and was delicious - I revisited on another day and found the lobster very chewy not the same quality.
