Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & SPA

Secrets Playa Esmeralda exceeded every expectation we had and gave us one of the most magical vacations we've ever experienced. The property itself is absolutely stunning. Every area feels thoughtfully designed, from the beautiful accommodations to the gorgeous pools and resort facilities. Our room was incredible and had every amenity we could have wanted. There were activities happening throughout the resort, making it easy to strike the perfect balance between relaxation and fun. The beach, however, is truly spectacular. I've traveled to many beautiful destinations, but I've never seen water this clear and turquoise. One of my favorite things was being able to snorkel right off the shore along the coastline. Between the beach, pools, spa, excursions, and activities, there was always something wonderful to enjoy. While the resort itself is beautiful, the staff is what truly makes this place exceptional. A special thank you goes to Amarlys Mercedes, our personal butler, who made our stay unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, she handled every detail with incredible care. She coordinated restaurant reservations and activities, checked in proactively to make sure we had everything we needed, and made every part of our stay feel effortless. When she learned we were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and taking a snorkeling excursion, she surprised us by arranging a beautiful celebration in our room, complete with a bottle of champagne, a bubble bath, rose petals, and a sweet sign on our door. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel genuinely celebrated. Throughout the week, she made us feel like we were her top priority. Her kindness, attention to detail, and proactive service were truly remarkable. We also want to thank Carlos, who helped us get settled when we arrived and provided wonderful recommendations for dinner and evening entertainment on our first night. Another highlight was the Tennis Center. Leonel and Jose went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. They helped coordinate a court reservation, and when I became overheated and had to stop playing, Jose stepped in to play with my husband so he could continue enjoying the match. It was such a thoughtful gesture and meant so much to him. Our favorite dining experience was undoubtedly Doña Altagracia. The food was exceptional, full of incredible flavors and beautifully prepared. Our server, whom I believe was named Anthony, made excellent recommendations throughout the meal, and every single one was outstanding. We loved everything we ordered. The entertainment throughout the resort was also fantastic. The evening shows were impressive, and I especially loved how performers would occasionally make appearances in the restaurants. My personal favorites were the gentlemen who led the dance lessons and Zumba classes at the main pool. They brought so much energy, joy, and fun to every activity and had me laughing and dancing the entire time. Finally, the food and drinks across the entire resort were top notch. Every meal, every cocktail, and every experience felt special. This vacation was everything we hoped for and more. The beautiful setting brought us here, but the people are what will bring us back. We cannot recommend Secrets Playa Esmeralda highly enough. Thank you for helping us create memories we'll cherish for a lifetime.

Great experience and beautiful resort. I would specially like to Thank Nelson from the entertainment team would planned a surprise Birthday celebration from my girlfriend. he even helped me with the reservation at a Restaurant. I highly recommend this place :)

The property is lovely with great views - highly recommend the beachfront swim out suites. Food 5/10 for me, would like more breakfast + lunch options - dinner was inconsistent even repeat dining experiences. You definitely need to do Preferred Club here. My butler was Simon was absolutely AMAZING and went above and beyond during my stay. The drive is about 1.5 hours from PUJ but beautiful and not winding so no car sickness.

Dominica Rebublic was a great experiance @secrets resort.

This was an amazing resort. We transferred here during our stay due to another awful resort “Secrets Royal Beach” this was such a great experience. Amazing and beautiful property, the beach is amazing and clean and beautiful, the service is 10/10 and every employee was so great. This blew the other out of the water and we are so sad that we were not able to spend our entire vacation here. Please consider!
