Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & SPA

We stayed at Secrets Playa Esmeralda in Miches, Dominican Republic. Check in was super easy on the preferred side, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. A big thank you to our butler Ivan!! He was great and made my birthday day extra special!! We had a master suite swim out and what an incredible room it was!! The ocean is rough but if you walk left for 5 mins it is much calmer. If you are looking for a peaceful and natural environment vacation then this is the place to be.

Our couples trip to Secrets Playa Esmeralda in Miches, Dominican Republic, was an absolute dream. We stayed in the Preferred Club area in an oceanfront swim-out room, and it was stunning—waking up to direct ocean views and having private pool access right outside our door made the stay unforgettable. The service truly sets this resort apart. Our butler, Jesus, was exceptional—incredibly attentive, polite, outgoing, and friendly, making sure every detail of our stay was perfect. The rest of the staff shared that same warm, welcoming energy, always ready to assist with a smile. The property itself is pristine, modern, and beautifully maintained. Plus, the entertainment team kept the vibe fun and energetic throughout our trip. We couldn't have asked for a better getaway!

We stayed at this resort Oct 20-27, 2026. The resort is very new (slightly more than a year old). The facilities were top notch and the grounds were finely manicured. If you've visited Punta Cana or Cancun in the last few years you know the sargassum at the beaches is out of control. The beach at Miches was impeccable. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent, especially the Bordeaux (French) restaurant. Our butler Jesus was fabulous! He was very attentive and checked in with us each morning to see if we needed anything. You would be very lucky if you can get him as your private butler! The only negatives were that the main pool was a little loud during the afternoon activities and the no-see-ums (gnats) were extremely active. Other than that it was truly wonderful. We highly recommend it and will definitely return again!

Excellente!!!! We went to Secrets Playa Esmeralda for my birthday! The experience was Perfect, the room, the restaurants, the animation....and our fantastic butler DEIF RY She even sent me a birthday cake and bottle of Champagne to our room! She was giving us daily information about what was going on in the resort which was helpfull. She was loking for us every morning at the pool or the beach to see if we needed anything! We really liked where our room was situated! Swim out in building 7....we could be in our room but still be near the pool. We will return for sure!

I highly recomend Secrets Playa Esemerelda! Everything was wonderful! Food, service, rooms, cleanlyness, beach, and location is fantastic! The biggest highlight was the stunning beach! Yes, its a 90 min drive from the airport and its worth it. Walking along the beach and not seeing another hotel is beautiful! Matilda and Erica at the pool bar were awesome. Daniel our waiter at Rosewater was fantastic! Jennie our UVC rep was the best sparkeling personality that made us feel special and incrediably welcome. This was our second stay at this resort and we will 100% come back. Its our favorite resort in the DR. No Sawgrass on the beach!!!
