The staff are not friendly at all. They don’t fool your fridge. Neither you have to wait 20 minutes in line just for a drink what they go ahead and ask other people that speak Spanish the food is not that great. Neither their service in the dining room is awful. It’s a long way from the airport for the service you get at this hotel that’s not worth the drive. I will not come back at this resort. It’s my second time I gave it another try will not recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed a wonderful week at the Viva Miches! Second time staying at a Viva Wyndham chain resort. I previously stayed at the Viva Dominicus Palace which was also amazing! There are many positive things I can say about this resort and would definitely recommend it for any age group and families. Location: The drive from Punta Cana airport is 1.5 hours. The Viva resort was the first resort stop upon arrival of 4 hotels in Miches (Dreams, Secrets and Zemi) and the last when departing. On the way you see a lot of greenery, the mountains, many cows and construction as Miches seems to be in the developing stages. Resort: -The resort is fairly new (built in December 2024) so it is modern and everything working well. Smaller resort so super easy to get around. -room: was on the 3rd floor on the side of the building. Room was clean, AC worked very well, good water pressure, fridge had 2 bottles of coke, 1 sparkling water. We only used 1 and wasn’t restocked. We also used the coffee machine with the pack of coffee they left and it was also never restocked. I heard from other people after consuming all bottles their fridge was not restocked all week either. -brown water one day in faucet and toilet but let it run for a while until it was clear. -water stations to fill up your bottles around the resort which are convenient however the water was pretty warm. They also provide you with a glass bottle in your room. -they do have people standing near the caffé or walking around the resort for excursions and time shares (you will see them with a green or red shirt). They were friendly and not pushy with us. -many cats walking around and look out for the toads at night. Pools: -2 pools which are facing the beach and there is a swim up bar in a smaller pool that is not attached to larger pools. -because the pools are so close to the beach, there is a lot of sand in the pools from people going in out out from beach to pool. -they clean the pools every morning -there are rinsing showers by the pools & beach -beach towels were always available for exchange Beach: -beautiful beach! No sargassum! The water is calm, no waves, darker sand so it’s not clear like Cuba however on a sunny day it’s pretty clear. -you can walk to the right or the left. Towards the right after the dock there are water sports, many seashells and I’ve seen crabs, fish and jellyfish. There is also a coconut stand. You can swim in that area however there are no beach chairs, no lifeguard. Towards the left you see the mountains and you can walk for miles! -while swimming you may feel a little sting and itch with a minor rash. Happened twice to me. I have read that this may be jellyfish or sea lice. It does not last long, make sure you go rinse! -one day a week they have vendors come on the beach (other times there are stands inside the resort at night). If you’re not interested and ignore them they won’t bother you. -there is security on the beach (there is a small hut on the left side of the beach) as well as police officers were seen daily. -There is a “quiet” section on the beach with hammocks in the back, and also a more crowded area where they do daily activities/games. -there are only palm trees for shade, but you will always find a chair! -beware of mosquitos or sand fleas especially when it rains and it’s humid. Didn’t feel them at all and suddenly had a bunch. Extremely itchy for 3 days after coming home. Needed hydrocortisone cream and cold compress to relieve the intense itch. Food & restaurants: -Buffet is large and has many options! You won’t go hungry unless you’re extremely picky. -there is smaller quiet buffet for breakfast -snack bar by the pool: wood oven pizza is amazing! -one day they did a grill on the beach for lunch -à la carte restaurants: I was able to book through the viva app. depending on time choices available we only decided to do 1, the Atlantis (seafood). It was good! -the café was very good! Variety and little desserts. Coffee is much better than in the buffet! -drinks were good and lots of choice. Once there was no beer at the pool bar. The beach bar seemed to make stronger drinks than the pool bar. Service: -good service at the lobby when arriving and departing. -the service at the buffet was ok. They were always ready to clean the table and at times ready to grab our plate before we were even finished. If you aren’t seated at your table or leave any personal belongings, leaving just your drink they will assume you are finished and clean up your table before you come back to sit down. This happened several times to us. -there are self serve drink machines (including wine from the tap) in the buffet so they will not always come serve you. But more often than not they will come serve you. Entertainment: -great entertainment for everyone who is interested -daily activities on the beach (kids games, dance lessons, aqua gym, bocce, darts, trampoline exercise, bingo) -canada country party -foam party -beach party (late 10:45pm) -nightly shows (9:30/9:45) pretty good! We enjoyed the Lion King and Michael Jackson -dancing at “La placita” at 9:00pm before the shows and after. -kids club and kids shows at night -circus classes for kids and adults
