Horse Country Resort Congress & Spa

Pro’s first: nice beach location in pine forest. Con’s: long way from anywhere else, of three restaurants, only the pizza place was not an expensive buffer, even the pizza place shut down after some rain in the evening. We were in a bungalow in the forest. Really dated and dark (but under the pine forest canopy, so ok). We were first in number 7, it stank, so moved immediately to 6. After a couple of days we needed some heating in the evening. Did’t work. Also, shower only ran hot for 2 - 3 minutes. Tiny fridge, but we could work with that. After two days of complaining, they moved us to bungalow 10. Similar layout, still dated, but everything worked! No WiFi in any of the bungalows or at the beach, where nothing was open. To be fair, there seemed to only be around 10 units being in use. No body at the pool and seldom people at the beach. More surprising they couldn’t give us a better room. To use a restaurant you have to book at reception. On the first night we wanted a pizza, but it was full, so couldn’t get us in until 9:30….. too late. But we couldn’t believe it despite a lot of people there for a weekend religious gig. So we walked round there at 7:30, there was at least 7 empty tables I. The main restaurant. Loads of space in the saloon area. The lady said they were full, I pointed out the empty tables. She went off, asked if we were all inclusive or half board or just accommodation. Not sure what that difference that made to empty tables. She came back and relented. We had our pizza,s, and by 8:30, it was less than half full. We paid and left, and never went to a restaurant in the resort again. Went to Arborea, less than a 10 minute drive with several really nice restaurants (cheaper than the EUR 40 buffet at the Resort) although we never actually tried either in the end, In conclusion, a beautiful setting, but needs modernisation and better options for food.

First compliments to Milena at reception for quiding me to correct police station to collect lost 💳. Resort is hidden in wooded area large complex with couple restaurants and supporting services. Kind receptionist makes great welcome and than charge 220€ electricity use and cleaning bungalow fee brings down optimism and star rating. Resort bungalow landline does not work so contacting reception is a personal walk. Bungalow is big and clean but cookware are scratched to the base and is health hazard to use which has been reported to no avail. Beach has warm sulfur spots with noticable smell but no temp.difference. Whole complex has been busy with different venues through out 3rd week of October. Over all OK experience worth 3.7-8* Recommendation ...maybe depending on accomodations price.

Worse timeshare exchange ever. The resort is located in the middle of nowhere so if you are interested in exploring Sardinia be prepared for long drives and very dark roads returning at night. The resort itself is extremely dark and difficult to get around. Poor wayfinding and lighting make it difficult to find your way especially at night. We had continuous ants in our bungalow and the lock sometimes took 10 mins to open. They provided 2 towels for a two bedroom unit. The kitchen consisted of a fridge and microwave and inside an armour a mini sink and two burners which I was afraid to use since they were inside wood. The only restaurant open during the week was a buffet for 40 euro per person. We thought that was steep. The pool area was nice and although there are lots of chairs they were very uncomfortable if you wanted to sit up.

Nice hotel, 2 pools, beach oae by, friendly and helpful staff. Especially thw riding constructers were super nice and funny (:. Thank you again!

Lush location, really beautiful you really feel like your at a resort. Plenty of pools space one for swimming and another one has a bar, i think there may be a third. It was quiet when we went so no entertainment mabye too early in season check this before you go. Room we had was basic but had nice old style charm. If you are not use to the heat consider air con, it was non exsistant in our room. Staff were nice. Breakfast was buffet style i thought it had good options considering italians dont really do breakfast. We did the horse riding it was very expensive and sadly the staff there seemed like we were in conviencing them by being there. Not sure if it was langugae barrier but it was disaapionting. We had dinner out and came back to the bar for a drink before bed. We were charged 6 euro each per glass which is like irish prices, and we were ripped off we were served what tatsed like 120 wine we couldnt drink it as it was so bad. Really annoying as we know wine and know in sardina a half decent glass of wine does not cost much at all! So that was really poor, do they see a non italian tourist and think we wouldnt notice. I felt the location itself made up for the above, but i would either eat out or stick to beers at the bigger bar.
