Hotel Palazzo Doglio

This level of guest service is unacceptable from a five-star hotel. The previous evening, I contacted the hotel directly to request an offer for arrival the following day. At around 8:00 a.m., they sent me a concrete offer, which I accepted at approximately 10:00 a.m. I was then informed that, in the meantime, their last room had been booked through Booking.com. It is already difficult to understand how a direct offer sent by the hotel cannot be held for even two hours. What was even more disappointing, however, was the way the situation was handled: apart from a brief apology, no solution was offered whatsoever. No alternative room category, no other option, no meaningful attempt to resolve the situation. When I then pointed out that I found this entirely inappropriate for a five-star hotel, they did not even bother to reply. Obviously, we never had the opportunity to experience the rooms or facilities, but we did gain a very clear impression of the hotel’s approach to guest service. From a five-star property, I would expect a significantly more professional, reliable and courteous standard of communication and customer care.

Great hotel experience. Room had a balcony, shower, bidet and bath. Gym was fabulous. Balcony overlooked the square so lots to look at plus coffee shop and several other restaurants in the square. Room was cleaned regularly and all our requests were met with a smile. Lots of fun, great buffet breakfast and great staff.

We absolutely loved our stay at Palazzo Doglio in Cagliari! The room was amazing—spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was large and gorgeous, and the overall decor throughout the hotel was modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. We also had a car, and while the on-site parking wasn’t available, their offsite parking was incredibly easy and convenient. The parking was just about a one-minute walk from the hotel, so it was honestly not an issue at all. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better. But the real highlight for us was the courtyard. Even though Palazzo Doglio is right in the middle of a busy city, the courtyard feels like its own little oasis. There are several bars and restaurants surrounding it, making it such a great place to sit, relax, have a drink, or grab something to eat without even leaving the hotel. Overall, Palazzo Doglio is a beautiful, stylish, and incredibly convenient place to stay in Cagliari. The combination of the gorgeous rooms, wonderful courtyard, friendly staff, and central location made it one of our favorite stays in Sardinia. We would absolutely stay here again!

Little lost for words as to what to say. We were very impressed on arrival and well looked after, we were taken to our suite which we were pleased with however when my partner went to use the bathroom she was somewhat dismayed to discover that the toilet had not been properly cleaned after someone had obviously been unwell in it We called reception who turned up with the head of housekeeping, whilst waiting we discovered some of the towels were badly frayed as was one of the bathrobes. Everything was sorted out and we were given free use of the Spa facilities for one of our days although to be honest it always annoys me when I am charged to use the pool and sauna in a hotel when I am staying there, in this case €50 each per 90 minute session, an experience I have had before in Italian hotels. All this was not my biggest complaint however. That was reserved for the dining room where we had breakfast each morning and dinner one evening. I was aware that there were complaints about how slow the service was so was expecting that but often it was virtually none existent and not all the staff were that helpful or friendly. I know other guests I spoke to were more than happy so perhaps we were just unfortunate on this occasion, it happens. The staff on reception and the concierge were very good and indeed put in every effort to address our concerns. So not all bad

Nowhere is perfect, but this is pretty darn close! We were able to walk and get to our tours very easily . The staff is very gracious and we ate in their fine dining restaurant twice. Beds As we were very comfortable in room was very clean. The front desk, especially stood out as making you very happy really love this hotel.
