Hotel Tarthesh

This place is a dream as a couple, quiet, tranquil and a great place to spend a couple of nights away from the crowds, situated in a little town Guspini a great hidden treasure. We stayed as a couple for two nights as we were travelling around island in a rental car, the place is an oasis of calm and a great stop over between places. Hotel, the grounds are beautiful, their pool is outstanding and a lovely place to relax. Rooms a generous size, bathrooms great with great showers double sinks and views over the grounds to relax (some ground floor rooms had patios also on to the grounds). We travelled down from Olbia (approx 2 hrs 20 mins in a car) as we wanted to go to the quieter wilderness beaches southern and west coasts, didn’t disappoint 30-40 mins from the different beach locations and highly recommend visiting them ! We used the car and from hotel travelled 10 mins to main train station in San Gavino, boarded regular train service to main capital Cagliari (38 mins) cost 4.80€ each way per adult, not busy, took us straight into the Port area of the city and from there we walked around and did all the sites ! (Lots of tours you can book as well), beautiful city, cafes cheap and authentic, had pizzas and ice cream. Back to the hotel restaurant is fantastic food is lovely and reasonably priced, we enjoyed great food and wine ! Breakfast continental not hot breakfast food, but cereals, juices, hams, cheeses, all different warm pastries, fresh coffee, teas and fruit so great bonus before a busy day out. Facilities at hotel were limited it was very quiet, only a few couples that we saw, in fact one afternoon we had the pool to ourselves, no bar service by pool unless lunch time but I think it was because it was not a busy time for them ! A perfect stay though to get away from the crowds of the city and beaches !!

Very good one week stay. The hotel is very nice and quiet for a real rest stay. The pool is superb. The service is very attentive, smiling and efficient. The rooms are spacious with very good bedding. A few kilometers you will find one of the most beautiful beaches of Sardinia, Piscinas.

The rooms are huge--perfect for families, a very generous and welcoming staff. Food on site is excellent. The pool is incredible, great wine selection and drinks. We enjoyed it so much and will be back.

Pretty dismal, where to start... The bottom of the pool had green clouds of algen(?) which are not cleaned by the vacuum cleaner they have. The terras has cracks in the floor, the dinner is very expensive (over priced), cold what should be warm and all in all just not good. As this hotel has the only decent restaurant in this little town you are more or less condemned to it. The breakfast was appalling, definately not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Own drinks were not allowed on the premises, nor in the room, meaning that a refrigerator or even a table where you can sit and drink a coffee in your own appartment was missing. In some way this is understandable, what's not understandable is that the bar is closed in the morning and early evening. A drink, even a bottle of water can not be consumed after breakfast until early afternoon. Don't be fooled by the pictures, they do not represent the reality. Staff is mostly friendly..

We had a 3 night stay here which had been postponed from 2020 due to covid. It is a 4 star hotel and the rooms are well furnished and of a very high standard. The staff were exceptionally nice- a big thank you to Isabella, Alberto, and the 2 staff at the poolside bar and restaurant! We felt very welcome, and well looked after. Sitting by the pool during the day was so relaxing. Having dinner outside by the pool in the evening was delightful. So glad we finally got there.
