Mangia’s Sardinia Resort

Like any large hotel, this place is made by its people. The facilities and standards are great too (more on that below) but the most memorable experiences this week have been meeting and chatting with the team in the restaurants and bars, who always have time for you. Superstars for us were : Silvana who seemed to be there as front-of-house to welcome us to whichever restaurant we happened to be at, and Lucia who also seemed to be looking after the tables everywhere we went and always had a smile, along with Marta who is always fast and always smiling. Simona on reception was helpful and welcoming on the first day, and Flavio at the beach bar welcomed us and chatted every time we saw him (along with his lovely colleagues who didn’t have name badges!). Thank you all for a great week. The hotel itself is in a great location on the coast, and has a layout which feels confusing for the first few days, made up of corridors and staircases which go up and down near each other, so for a while you think you’ve gone upstairs and downstairs when you could just have gone across.. but actually it’s on a steep hill and there’s a lot of climbing (which you will REALLY feel if you’re in a room in one of the lower sea-facing room) and a lot of stairs. But: there’s a regular little train service which does the full round of the area every 15 minutes, so if you’re not in a hurry then you can wait for that and avoid the hill-climbing. There are (currently) 4 restaurants: the buffet (where everyone has breakfast), the Italian (quite short menu and almost all pizza for main course, but it’s a great pizza), the bistro (more extensive menu, great choice, feels strangely like a canteen though because of the bright lighting and large rectangular space) and the grill down by the beach. This one is outdoor, and at least for now is only open during the day (maybe evenings in busy season?) As we were there in the low season there were way more sunbeds by the pool and beach than there are people who want one, so that was stress-free. In the whole week we only saw one family (guess the nationality..?) who went daily and grabbed two out of five of the largest 4-poster sunbeds before 8am, then didn’t come back until 12, mostly it was a situation of nobody doing that because nobody else was doing that. Busy season is obviously different! Tips: - if you don’t like a hill, or have any difficulty walking generally, do wait for the train. Everybody is out of breath by the top (although you feel like you deserve breakfast) - do get ahead and book restaurants, even in low season, they might look big and empty but that’s no guarantee of a table - check the prices of wine bottle v glass, if you’re paying (rather than all-inclusive) as sometimes it’s cheaper by the glass for the same wine. Also one wine (I think the Nasea) was 27 EUR per bottle in one restaurant and 40 EUR in another for no obvious reason, might just be an error but obvious one to watch out for Two minor points I would highlight, and they are minor: - the service is so fast and so keen that sometimes one guest’s empty plate has been removed while they’ve still got a mouth full and the other guest still has half a plate to finish, which wouldn’t normally be right (not the people I mentioned above by the way!) - a couple of times in the grill there were a few things which were „finished” (unavailable on the menu) by the time it opened, probably just supply issues Great week anyway and thank you for a first great experience of this location.

I will definitely recommend Mangia’s Sardinia Resort, especially for family stay. Location was perfect to have a trip to Corsica. We stayed from August 27 till September 4, 2026. Atmosphere was charming, the hotel is clean and well furnished. Our room was cozy and comfortable, with beautiful sea view. My experience has been flawless, it was a pleasure to stay there, amenities are beautiful and well cared. The staff was friendly and ready to help. Beach is lovely, the lifeguards make you feel rather safe. I would like to mention a lifeguard who was helpful to me on the last Friday of August, the first half of the day (28th of August), I wish I knew his name. His professional demeanor has been impressive. As for the restaurants, Donna Floriana Bistro was the most enjoyable. I would like to thank the Manager, the staff, especially, Joey, for their great work. Last but not least, I would love to be back.

I must admit I read the reviews on this hotel for about a month before our trip and was a little concerned. However, our stay was truly amazing, there are no complaints at all - it’s everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel and more. The staff are the hotels best assets thst together with the view snd the stunning beach. The food was excellent - loads of choice and very good quality. The room was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in, with a view to surpass all others, cleaned every day and replenished with water, coffee, tea and toiletries. I hope to return very very soon.

Difficult to judge. They want to cater to both luxury and mass tourism, which simply doesn’t work. Wristbands of all colors: breakfast only, half/full board, all-inclusive (with or without cocktails), and for Marriott Bonvoy status holders. How Marriott can support this hotel advertising itself as a 5-star property remains a mystery. It's more like 3.5, 4 at best. The parking is far from the hotel reception. The estate itself is vast (600 rooms), and there are far too many stairs to climb. If you are not particularly fit, or if you have a disability, this place can be quite a challenge. I feel for the people who work there, too. Small trains run around the property to transport guests between the accommodation, the beach, and the restaurants. Taking a train a couple of times a day during a vacation? A run-down football pitch suggests that the place may have had much bigger ambitions at the time of construction. Patchy Wi-Fi; almost none on the beach, which charges €40 per day for two beds in the first row. Sorry, but for that money, the Wi-Fi should be flawless. The beach is nice and the water was pristine. Unfortunately, some members of staff have an attitude. I personally witnessed one of the “managers” treating a young waitress very poorly. I decided to intervene and point out that this was not how someone should be treated, particularly in front of guests. Many staff members came across as being under tension. On the positive side, the furnishings are beautiful (as MB Life Platinum, we were upgraded), the breakfast was very good (although the MB breakfast area is a joke, tbh), and the dinner featuring typical Sardinian dishes was memorable. Often, plates were wet; this could be due to the number of people they have to serve, so they don’t have enough time to dry them properly (this isn’t something Italians would tolerate themselves in restaurants). Overall, overpriced. Would not return.

Avoid this hotel – multiple serious issues (theft, no accountability, broken promises) I don't write reviews often, but after a month and a half of calling, emailing, and being ignored, I feel I have to warn others. Communication is nearly impossible. The hotel is almost never reachable by phone, especially on weekends, and several of the listed phone numbers simply don't work. Email only gets a response if you're trying to book a room, once you actually have a problem or complaint, you're left to deal with it entirely on your own. Theft by staff, with zero accountability. During our stay, items of our clothing were stolen, 4 branded polo shirts and 4 T-shirts. Part of the staff clearly cannot be trusted, and the hotel refuses to take any responsibility. The front desk simply points to housekeeping and considers that the end of the matter. The "manager," Alessio, reads the emails (we could see they'd been opened) but never replies or acts on them. Broken services throughout the stay. On top of the theft: The shuttle train ran on only 2 of 6 days, forcing us to walk up a hill in 34°C heat. The boat trip we had booked and paid for was not what we actually received. Breakfast was chaotic, with tables left uncleared for far too long. The kids' club was a joke — don't expect anything for children. Every part of this stay was a disappointment, and the lack of communication and responsibility from management afterward made it worse. If you're considering booking here, think twice — especially if you're traveling with kids.
