Mangia’s Sardinia Resort

This was a beautiful hotel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It has good parking and is a very short drive from the town of Santa Teresa. It is so peaceful and beautiful. I was very thankful for the wonderful breakfast provided with ample gluten free options. The rooms were beautiful and clean. We also enjoyed the evening of live music and cocktails. We originally booked this hotel for only one night, but added 3 more because we liked it so much.

I had an amazing time! The hotel was stunning and spotlessly clean, food was great and quite varied. When I arrived I had a great surprise when I was told I had been upgraded to a suite! My room and the view were stunning. The beach was absolutely beautiful and staff were amazing especially Alyssa on reception. Everyone was so kind and polite. As a solo traveller I felt really safe was really comfortable there. I can’t wait to get back there!

Firstly we were not due to stay at this hotel TUI overbooked our original hotel advising us 16 hours prior to departure leaving us no option but to accept an alternative. On arrival we realised the hotel is in a beautiful setting but remote nearest town is 15 minutes away. Bus is 6 euro per person but last bus is 18.45 so if you want to eat out in the evening it’s 30 euro for a taxi back to hotel. We had to wait nearly 4 hours until 4pm to check in to our room. That evening after dinner we returned to find bathroom floor flooded, contacted reception and maintenance man came, he opened the hatch in bathroom ceiling more water came down obviously an ongoing problem as it was sorted within minutes. He came back with some dirty towels and proceeded to mop up with his foot on towels. We assumed the floor would be cleaned the next day, no in fact the bathroom is not cleaned on a daily basis, cleaning consists of making the bed, emptying bins and replacing towels if you are lucky. Two days after we arrived we got back to our room to find our wet towels where we had left them in the shower. Two days after that we arrived back at our room at 5.30 pm to find nothing had been done. Contacted reception to be told someone would come within the hour, called an hour later and 15 minutes after that a man came, made the bed and gave us clean towels. The following 3 days not even the bins were emptied just replacement towels and bed made. I spoke to reception again saying the housekeeping management really need to be made aware of how dreadful the housekeeping was. After dinner we found our room had been cleaned, bed changed, fresh towels and bins emptied. On holiday you don’t expect to have to continually complain in order to have the basics done. Hotel has a buffet restaurant, pizza pasta restaurant and another which wasn’t open. Buffet is 40 euros per person for lunch or dinner other restaurant you choose from a menu and a service charge is added to your bill. Buffet food…salad bar and desert station good. Hot food unless you get it when it first comes out is cold, Luke warm at best. Also pizza restaurant doesn’t have a pizza chef on a Monday. Although hotel own sunbeds on the beach there is a charge of 40 euros front row 30 euros rows behind. We stayed 10 days from 20th September and I can truthfully say this was our worst holiday experience. TUI do not have a rep who comes to the hotel.

Lovely quiet venue and idyllic setting. What spoilt it however was the meals which were served warm at best, soon to become cold. We resorted to going for the salads instead which was not what we paid for really. We raised this issue twice to the restaurant manager and once to reception but nothing changed over the seven days. We have also put in a formal complaint to Tui as a last resort. A shame but we won't be coming back here because of this.

If you are okay with an extremely oversized, badly managed, resort with unmotivated, poorly dressed, (dirty and untidy) backpacker staff, that hardly speaks English, you might get an okay stay at this resort. The set up is quite nice in the newly renovated part of the building. But be prepared, the whole huge resort has not one lift, yet many, many stairs. You will find old and young with children / prams, climbing along those stairs, mostly lost. The restaurants were often closed, or fully booked, but the nearby town has beautiful little restaurants, for far better prices. Don’t expect the staff to be helpful, nor friendly. They seem mostly scared. And when you going to the beach, you will have to pay extra for certain lounge chairs in prime position. You also might want to book a car, as the resort is quite away from the near by town. But be aware, the car park is a bit of a walk, and we did quite a surprise when a wild boar came running out of the bushes.
