Fergus Cactus Garden

After a long day travelling, Patrizra and her team on reception made us feel really welcome. After a couple of hours settling in, she made it feel like home. 2 days in so far and ee would recommend this hotel and the staff.

Rooms fine .. clean and comfortable . Staff friendly . No indoor lounges .. appreciate weather worse than normal but too cold in the evening to sit outside where the “entertainment” takes place. Very disappointing food in the restaurant.. nothing to really look forward too.. .. eg whoever puts cut up pieces of corn on the cob in corn soup without detaching the corn .. the cob is really not edible and you can’t detach the corn with a soup spoon ( not that they actually had any soup spoons just teaspoons or desert spoons.!). A microwave was available to make the food hotter . We did not try a single dish that we thought was really tasty and worth thinking about having a bit more . The Pizza was extremely poor ( I didn’t see anyone going back for an extra slice ! . Breakfast ok . It seems that everything is run on a budget that does not allow for anything better . We did not pay a lot for the holiday but have had better overall experience for a similar price. Did not live up to expectations. All inclusive but you were expected to pay ( with a 20% discount ) if you wanted a drink at the bar on the 6th floor .. ridiculous .. was told “ well you can take a drink from the ground floor bar and take it up “ only 4 cocktails included on all inclusive We would definitely not return.

We are here 10 nights go home Monday the rooms are great cleaned daily, the staff are all very nice and helpful, the food is average goodjob they have a microwave the entertainment isn't great, the all inclusive bar is out side by the pool so not very warm at night so this ruined it for us sat in reception most nights most people said the same thing, I would not return.

Hotel does what it says on the tin! Cannot fault staff - majority polite friendly and helpful. Pros Solarium - quiet area, lots of sun beds always available and jacuzzi - my favourite part of the hotel Had a junior suite on 8th floor with good views Good value - we went B&B but paid for a couple of evening meals ok- only 18 euro including drinks Excellent location. Easy access to the main strip and beach. Some excellent local restaurants Quiet - although entertainment on it was completely quiet by 11pm Excellent choice at breakfast especially cereals and cold options. Lovely fresh bread available Daily cleaning of rooms Stunning beach location Cons Drain smell in bathroom - couldn’t close the door as it was a very loose frosted glass which also impacted if you were in the room when someone wanted to “use the facilities “ Hot food quite often Luke warm Only bar open was by the pool and in the evening it was chilly so nowhere to sit communally. Lack of tables available at breakfast on occasions Surface cleaning good but shower looked a bit grotty around seals and grouting. This was the first time we had stayed in all inclusive hotel even though we were B&B. Don’t think we had appreciated volume of people around at breakfast some of whom didn’t follow the best hygiene manners, despite notices from the hotel. Hotel is “surface clean” but needs more in depth - eg air con vents, grouting. For folk who do AI I can understand why and this is probably a great place for budget hotel, but not for us

On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite, good size room and balcony. Room cleaned every day and coffee/tea sachets replenished. Bed comfortable and slept well during our 9 night stay. We were on half board basis, food was of a decent quality but after a few days became rather repetitive, hot meat was mostly pork. Desserts disappointing consisting primarily of squares of sponge cake. However we never left the restaurant hungry. Hotel is in a good location and is clean and has plenty of sun beds, we enjoyed relaxing at the solarium on the 6th floor. Last drop off/first pick up does mean a good 2 hours transfer on the coach. Despite some disappointing weather (strong winds, cloud and showers) overall we had a good holiday at this hotel.
