Location is in the North, which is a hour and a half driver from the airport. It's a bit tiring after a long flight if your travelling down from further than London or Manchester to get here. The Hotel is very nice and has been renovated fairly recently. The area it's self is very up and down hill, so if your older or have mobility issues you might find getting around a bit hard unless your on a coach based holiday. I would say it's ideal for hikers. The surrounding area is a mixture of new, old and run down. It's more of a Spanish resort. If your looking for loads of bars, clubs etc you won't find them here. If your not eating at your hotel, I would stray away from the main strip and head down back streets to eat, it's cheaper. Plenty of supermarkets to grab a snack or drink and they vary. If you get the chance, grab a cab to EL Campo, it's like Costco and you will find drink, cigarettes and everything but the kitchen sink to buy there. There are also some lovely shops there. It's about 10 mins and 13 euro by taxi. You can get a bus. There are some lovely places to see the old town, the botanical gardens. There is a zoo and aquarium but the tank is very small to keep Whales and they do to many shows a day. But I believe they should be in the sea. You can go on boat trips to see them in their natural habitat. We had a standard room that was quite spacious with a balcony. Granted the view wasn't great but could see the sea at the end of the road. Air con works really well, comfortable bed and lovely pillows. Nice bath towels very big but not the softest but that's how I like them. There is a mini bar but we used it to store milk in because you never get enough. Hairdryer in bathroom with a 2 head shower. Nice and clean and was cleaned every day. Room was very quite at night even though we were on a main road. The dining room is buffet style and there is a fair amount of choice from cold to hot. Some nights I wasn't to keen and not much choice for kids if they are fussy. I would of liked the food a bit hotter, so eat up quick if you don't want a cold meal. Breakfast was probably the better of the two sittings. If I came here again I think I would just do breakfast. The serving staff were hit and miss. First two nights it was like to much trouble to take your order with a side of arrogance. Then the 3rd night we had a little bald waiter who was pleasant and polite. So we sat at which ever section he was covering. We found the same sort of attitude in a number of places on the island. Puerto Del a Cruz is more a Spanish resort which is not a bad thing but not as welcoming as the people of Lanzarote. Both our transfer rides in the mini bus were just the same, it was like an effort to drop us off. The wine was a bit pricey and some waiters kept trying to push it in the restaurant you can buy it by the glass but we had water or a beer then had drinks in the hotel bar or one of the many small bars/cafes nearby. Overall hotel nice, food ok, lovely pool area. Staff hit and miss in the bar and restaurant restaurant. Spa and reception staff were fine. In a few shops we even got asked if we were English, I joked and said does that make the price go up. If I go back I'll try another area of island. Overall for what I paid for this trip it was very fair, shame the surroundings and some of the people let it down.
We have recently returned from a great week at this hotel. The hotel is in a great position on the sea front and it was calming to hear the waves at night. The hotel is family and dog friendly although there were not many children there during our stay. The atmosphere was calm and laid back. We had two rooms booked and were lucky enough to have them next to each other. They were light and airy. The beds were very comfortable. The air con in our room was adequate but very noisy in the second room booked. The bathroom had a large walk in shower but is starting to look tired with mould around the shower screen and ceiling. The rooms were cleaned but we noticed dirty footprints on the floor when we arrived which were still there when we left. The pool is lovely and there were plenty of sunbeds. This may not be the case in busy times. The pool does not have a very shallow end and may not be suitable for young children. The children's pool is just a paddling pool. The food is good. We especially enjoyed the sushi and breakfast was always good. The only criticism is the food was not hot. The staff were very friendly - including reception, pool bar and dining staff. We stayed on a half board basis and would consider staying here again if we ever returned to this resort.
Fabulous friendly and lovely hotel in every aspect. We have stayed for only one day before travelling on to our next destination and it’s been just perfect. Polite and courteous reception staff, helpful staff in the lounge and bar. We ate in the lounge area and the food was lovely, plenty of choice. The room was fab with sunshine on the balcony which was lovely for sunbathing. The pool area was nice and clean with plenty of free sun loungers. The hydro spa was an unexpected bonus and was really worth using.Just splendid for spending some peaceful time in the sun. We will definitely look to come back for a longer stay. x
II spent 8 days at this stunning hotel and found nothing to criticize. Absolutely excellent.
Absolutely terrible experience at the hotel, got a phone call on the 3rd night in at 12:30pm when me and me friend was sleeping saying there was a noise complaint coming from our room, Move on to 2 nights later it is currently 12:43pm and we are woken up by somebody banging aggressively against our door, bare in mine we are 2 young females in the hotel alone!! Called down to reception where a none English speaking security guard was sent up and advised he would stay on the corridor as he was sure this was a “mistake” checked 5 min after placing the call and no security on the corridor!! Absolutely appalled at the level of service and help not provided by the hotel, let’s hope it doesn’t continue for the rest of the holiday as I’m currently sat wide awake at the door at 1:08am waiting for someone to bang on our door again!
