Melia Jardines del Teide

The location is amazing, beautiful surroundings with the whole of Costa Adeje visible and a perfect sea view. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, Johnny at the main bar remembered or drinks order and had them at the table swiftly for us. The rooms were clean and modern and the air conditioning was cold!! 🥶 The food was excellent in the main dining room and that was every meal. The drinks were of a high standard with a good variety of cocktails. Now the issues that stopped this from being a 5 star review. The pool, when we arrived we went to look at the pool and it looked flithy, black stuff over a fair amount of the pool floor!!!! I did email a complaint and put a verbal con into the hotel. I spoke with the guest manager who told me they accepted it was an issue but they cannot do anything about it without emptying the pool and shutting the hotel. They assured me it was tested daily and it was clean and hygienic. I did go in the pool but would not put my feet on the floor as it was slimy and slippery. Secondly- All inclusive?? It was not really all inclusive. 1) the mini bar was filled with drinks and snacks but you have to pay for them!! My advice, just provide an empty fridge. 2) pool bar- some snack in the fridge were all inclusive but if you want anything from the menu you had to pay, also you had to pay for certain drinks and ice cream. 3) you can only have food at the main bar all inclusive after 3pm? My advice, offer this menu at the pool bar. Sunbeds- fantastic. You could get sunbed anytime of the day! No early morning rush. I'm an early bird and was often alone by the pool until 10am. The big question is would I go back. Yes I definitely would as I know what to expect and the staff and entertainment was fabulous. Would I like to have the main pool fixed? Yes definitely, it wasn't nice not being able to touch the floor. Thanks to Silvia who contacted me after my complaint about the pool and explained everything. I was offered late checkout but we had an early flight so didn't need the room. We are already looking at booking for October but maybe with the level package as that pool was clean and slime free!

Not what we were hoping for- 2.5/5 We were really disappointed with our stay here overall and, unfortunately, felt the hotel was not worth what we paid for it. One of the biggest things we noticed was that the hotel seemed to prioritise Spanish guests. We felt that they were prioritised more than other guests, and were served more and quicker in the evenings etc. Also you could pay considerably more to upgrade despite already being all inclusive, access an additional pool and a separate dining area. The extra pool didn’t look particularly special to us, and having different areas depending on how much you had paid made the atmosphere of the hotel feel quite strange and divided. It wasn’t something we enjoyed. The all-inclusive offering was also quite disappointing. There wasn’t a huge selection of drinks included, and we found ourselves having the same drinks every day because there were so few options available. For us, the food was by far the worst part of the stay. Breakfast was probably the best of the three meals, but the food was consistently cold, regardless of how early we went down. This was extremely disappointing. The coffee machine was also awful when it actually worked, and the coffee was essentially undrinkable. Lunch was repetitive and, again, the food was cold. We held off one day as you could order freshly prepared food at the lobby bar (only all inclusive after 3pm…) and this was poor quality and disappointing too, although one way to get a hot meal. Dinner was much the same, repetitive, cold and, in our opinion, poor quality. We really expected much better from an all-inclusive hotel and were severely disappointed with the standard of the food throughout our stay. The main pool was another disappointment and, at times, actually felt unsafe. There were black splodges all over the bottom of the pool, which looked unpleasant and were very slippery underfoot. We also noticed what appeared to be bits specking off into the water. We couldn’t say for certain what this was, I overheard some guests were speculating that it could be black mould, while others thought it may have been chipped paint.. but either way, it was not something we expected to see at a 5-star hotel. Getting into the pool was also quite difficult and, in our opinion, unnecessarily dangerous. There was barely anything to hold onto, the edges were very slippery and uneven, and the steps into the pool were deep. It didn’t feel particularly accessible or safe, especially for anyone who might struggle with mobility. The room itself was nice enough but felt quite tired and in need of some attention and retouching. The shower leaked after every shower. Although the bed was made daily, the room didn’t feel properly cleaned, particularly the floors, which were often grubby. Drinks in the bedroom including water weren’t included in the all inclusive. One of the best things about the hotel was the availability of sunbeds. There was absolutely no need to rush down early in the morning, as we could wander down at pretty much any time and still find one. However, the sunbeds themselves were quite grubby and could definitely do with being refreshed. The gym was another positive. It was small but nice and had decent equipment. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning. The entertainment was generally good and gave us something to enjoy during the evenings. Overall we did have a nice time and made the most of our holiday, but the hotel itself was a major disappointment, we just didn’t feel that the hotel provided good value for money. The experience simply didn’t feel like what we would expect from a 5-star hotel, particularly considering the price we paid. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we wouldn’t recommend booking this hotel until some maintenance has been completed.

This was the most perfect couples holiday 10/10. We have loved every second of it. The room was modern stylish and very clean. The buffet food was so good and had lots of variety. The staff, every single one them were so polite kind and very helpful. The view from the hotel of the sea and bay of Costa adeje and Mount Tiede were stunning. The evening entertainment was great as-well , always became a song and dance at the end. I’d say the value for price was worth it.

We stayed at Meliá Jardines del Teide from 11th to 26th July 2026, and what an incredible two weeks it was! From beginning to end, every single day gave us something special to remember. Our mornings started with a fantastic breakfast overlooking the stunning blue sea, while our evenings often ended beneath spectacular Tenerife skies, with sunsets and dusk colours that almost didn't look real. The food throughout our stay was amazing. The buffet was of an exceptionally high standard, with excellent quality, variety and beautifully presented showcases every day. The service was consistently excellent too, with staff always attentive, professional, welcoming and genuinely friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful. Everything was sparkling clean and very well maintained, but we particularly loved the main pool area and the overall design of the resort. With its gardens, greenery and open spaces, walking around the hotel sometimes felt like being in a little tropical paradise. We filled our holiday with plenty of exciting activities and excursions that we booked ourselves with local partners, but we have to say that the entertainment provided by Kevin and his team was on another level. The attention to detail was fantastic. We loved getting involved in the different workshops and activities, and it was such a lovely touch to finish each workshop with a little "handmade by us" gift to take home. These small details turned activities into genuine memories from our holiday. The evening entertainment was exceptional. Our favourites were definitely the live bands, the acrobatic performances and, of course, Mama Africa, performed with the entertainment team's own choreography. Absolutely brilliant! What really made our stay special, however, were the people. Over two weeks we had the opportunity to get to know some of the staff, and their warmth, friendliness and enthusiasm added so much to our experience. We would therefore like to give our very personal thanks to Kevin, Ropi, Yaiza, Diana and Luisa, as well as all the other members of staff whose names we may not have mentioned but who contributed to making our holiday so memorable. We left Meliá Jardines del Teide with so many wonderful memories and the feeling that we will definitely be back. Thank you all for making our holiday so special. Interesting hotel, there is a definite bias towards their Spanish guests. They get better service and larger portions of food. Particularly noticeable in the pool bar they all got table service meanwhile as an english guest i had to go and order the bar and the portion sizes notably smaller. If they don’t want to treat everyone equally I can’t see us coming back. We did the level experience and the snacks are very much the same everyday and crips are stale.
