Cook's Club Corfu

Stayed at Cook’s Club Corfu as a larger group and came away feeling disappointed. The hotel looks great on Instagram and the aesthetic is probably its strongest selling point, the pool area is nice, drinks selection is good, and visually the hotel has a modern vibe. Unfortunately, beyond appearances, the experience really did not live up to expectations. Rooms are lovely, well accommodated and bed is super comfy. The biggest issue was how misleading the “inclusive” dining options were. We were under the impression certain restaurants were complimentary as part of the package, only to then be hit with over £100 worth of charges for one meal. The communication around what was and wasn’t included was incredibly unclear and felt deceptive. Communication itself was poor. Our dining reservation was cancelled. We didn’t know until before attending the restaurant and when question, the told us they called the room during the day… who sits in their hotel room all day during the day on holiday? Food across the hotel was consistently poor. I honestly don’t think we ate a single genuinely hot meal the entire trip. Everything was lukewarm at best, bland, repetitive and completely lacking flavour. Even the speciality restaurants, which were supposed to be an upgrade, were massively underwhelming. No wow factor, no quality, nothing memorable whatsoever. The food genuinely let down the entire holiday. The sunbeds are also surprisingly uncomfortable, which matters when you’re spending most of your day around the pool. Service was extremely inconsistent. Some bar staff were lovely and friendly, but others were openly rude. We were met with eye rolls at lunch, dismissive attitudes, and it was obvious at times staff were talking about guests in Greek and laughing amongst themselves. It created a really uncomfortable atmosphere. There also seemed to be completely random rules depending on who served you, one person would say only two drinks per person, while another let us order for the group with no issue. The inconsistency just became frustrating. The worst part of the stay, however, was the night manager. Genuinely one of the rudest hospitality staff members I’ve ever encountered. Two nights in a row he came over aggressively to our group. The first night, he complained we were “too loud” despite the bar literally having just closed and guests still being around. The second night was unacceptable, he stood at the end of our table clicking his fingers at us to get our attention like we were children. It was arrogant, aggressive, degrading and completely disrespectful. Rather than speaking to guests properly, he chose to speak down to us with an awful tone and attitude that completely ruined our final night. It honestly felt misogynistic and hostile. It’s frustrating because a lot of the staff were genuinely lovely and the hotel itself has potential, but the poor food, misleading inclusions, inconsistent service and awful management experience completely overshadowed everything else. Would not return, and definitely would not rate this as the premium experience it tries to market itself as.

We had a fantastic stay at cooks club, all the staff and facilities were fantastic, along with delicious food. We had a spa treatment from Christiana and marileta while visiting and they were amazing therapists and the treatment was great. This is my second time visiting cooks club and I definitely will be coming back for a third.

This hotel is amazing .... we had the best time ...the food is unreal, the drinks selection expansive and i cannot rave enough about the spa and the wonderful therapists in there ... i had a neck back and shoulder massage one day and a facial the next ... they have every detail covered and its just so relaxing the perfect compliment to your holiday, really reasonably priced too for how amazing it is x

Had an incredible hydrating facial with marileta, she made sure I was informed and comfortable. The experience was wonderful from start to finish from stepping into the spa we were treated so kindly, when we booked in the therapist advised me what I was able to have being pregnant without needing to ask myself which was very reassuring that I was in safe hands. My partner had a full body massage with Christiana, which he also loved and we were able to have the treatments side by side which made the experience even better

I’ll be honest, I’m not sure how this hotel has so many good reviews… We’ve just finished our holiday at Cook’s Club, we were only there for 5 nights and happy when we were leaving! Aside from the hotel having a lovely vibe and aesthetic, it doesn’t get much better unfortunately. Rooms are lovely, bathroom is frosted glass so just something to note - it wasn’t a massive issue for us. Doors are paper thin and so are the walls, luckily we are heavy sleepers so we didn’t get woken up but definitely something worth keeping in mind! We had an issue with getting fresh towels to our room, they weren’t replaced when housekeeping came to clean. We phoned reception and still had to wait nearly an hour for towels to be dropped to our room… The pool area is nice, pool was freezing at this time of year though. Cats do roam, again, not an issue for us. The worst part… the food. Breakfast is buffet style with the same options everyday. There is one 6 slot toaster so be prepared to wait, they also serve fresh eggs which is nice. Lunch and dinner at the main restaurant is all done via their app… honestly, the food is bad. Bland and lukewarm at best, there’s also not a lot of options. Food by the pool clearly sits on the side for a while… really not sure how people say the food here is good. We also had a couple of VERY uncomfortable experiences at the restaurant. The was a waiter who was more than just ‘overly friendly’, it got to the point where we were uncomfortable coming to the restaurant as we knew he would be back to harass us - and I don’t like to use that word lightly. The location of the hotel is fine. Like most say, there isn’t much around but for €2.50 you can hop on the bus into old town which is lovely and have hot food that tastes amazing. All in all, we won’t be back.
