Corfu Club Apartments

Very nice place to stay, the hosts are very nice people! We’ve stayed here for 8 days and we couldn’t have hoped for a better place to stay. The rooms are nice, beautiful pool and is a really relaxing place. 10/10 would love to come back in the future.

The Corfu Club Aparthotel is a small charming oasis of calm tucked away on the edge of Gouvia (NB its a long walk to the beach!). However that is no bad thing in my view as Gouvia is a typical tourist trap with little to recommend it unless you like "english pubs" and shops selling tourist tat. The beach isn't up to much either - a thin scrubby strip alongside the dock. Most of the resorts on the island are the same. As a general rule find a place you like and stay there unless you get a car and venture into the interior of the island where some of old Corfu still exists. Most of what was once an idyllic Greek island has been ruined by decades of rampant tourism overdevelopment and a corresponding lack of infrastructure development. The roads are bad, the traffic in the towns especially Kherkyria, is diabolical, parking impossible and the standard of driving unspeakable. The buses are grossly overstretched so don't bank on getting on one if and when it eventually arrives. Okay so that's thye bad news. The good news is that if you want a place away from the hurly burly to relax and unwind and not do too much the Corfu Club may be just the ticket. However be warned - as an aparthotel it offers the the minimum in bothcategories. As a hotel its bed and basic breakfast only although an evening meal of variable quality can be provided on demand. There is a small pool and a bar which is quite sufficient as there are only 30 guests. If you want to self cater, either bring your own kitchen, or be prepared to live on what you can prepare on a 2 ring hotplate with one saucepan a milk pan and a kettle.(NB there aren't any restaurants nearby but there is a small market a butcher and a fish shop for the survivalists. Helena and her colleague who run the place are most friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, and though slightly ramshackle the place is well looked after. We really enjoyed our week there but a week was enough. A tip - if you want to go into Corfu town the only reliable way is by taxi. If you have a car don't try and drive in, for the reasons given above, and the prospects for getting on a bus are very uncertain.

The location of the corfu club hotel is good: green bus and blue bus station are just on the nearby street. The hotel was ok. positive: Friendly young woman who tended the bar in the evening. Good location if you want to take green buses to the north. 30 min. with blue bus to Kerkyra. Nice garden and swimming pool. Breakfast ok, though could change from time to time (for a couple of days it might get boring). negative: apart from the friendly young woman the other woman and the elderly man (owner?) were not very friendly and we didn't feel so homely then. The floor in our apartment was quite dirty when we arrived the first day. kitchen hob and hood were dirty. The hotel room (the house looking to the garden) was pretty loud, distant street noise and dogs barking at night kept us awake. The windows should definitely be renewed to have a quieter room. The room interior is rather old.

Couple 50's stayed here 10 nights from end July to beginning August 2016. Airport transfer to hotel in afternoon for 30 euros (25 euros back to airport booked through hotel). Takes about 20/25 minutes. Hotel is set back from main road access via single road making it quiet. The photos don't do this place justice and obviously cannot capture how nice, friendly and accommodating the staff are from this family run hotel. All staff are genuinely very friendly with Era looking after us mostly and so very well helped with her lovely daughter Angela. Make sure you get Era to make you some food it is fantastic. All the 5 star reviews can genuinely be trusted and the sun loungers are the most comfortable we have had on holiday. Our Studio Room was set up back from the Pool side and very big. We had a a very big double bed, 2 fridges, 2 large wardrobes, very large bathroom with 2 WHB's, WC, Walk In shower and towels every 2 days. There was also a sink with 2 ring cooker and all dishes/pans etc. you need but didn't use them as eat out, also had a large table with 4 chairs, 2 couches and coffee table and a single chair. AND finally in the corner we had a SAUNA!! It was very big, very clean and very well looked after. Air Conditioning is standard in all rooms as well. The best way we can describe this place is like you you are staying at a friends large Villa with Pool, far closer to a Villa holiday than a hotel. Gouvia was nice with some really good restaurants. We would recommend Leon (Lamb Kleftiko in Foil and Stifado), 9Muses (Sofrito) and BBQ Art for lunch. Look at Tripadvisor Restaurants its very close to being very accurate from our view. If you want to cook and feed yourself there is supermarket out to main road and look to right its 100 yards away cant miss it and very well stocked. Corfu Town is well worth the visit. It was totally different to what we expected passing through on way to Hotel which was brief. It is fantastic and feels like Rome in many places. We mentioned this to Era who then gave us a history lesson on Corfu which was so nice and so well informed. Ask Era about Corfu she is full of knowledge and so friendly. We walked into Gouvia each day for Lunch and each night for dinner and its about 1 mile one way although we did walk to the Marina one day which is a lot further but very nice and worth a visit. There were a number of families with kids when we were there and they all were having a ball and so nice to see. Parents could relax as they were all in sight and just getting on having a great time. Everyone we spoke with (other guests) during our stay were all very nice and easy to get on. The Pool is also very child friendly with large shallow end dropping deeper at other end but easy to stand upright above water. The pool is like everywhere else, spotless. Highly recommended.

Just got back from this amazing hotel. We went for 8 nights as a family of 4. Children aged 12 and 14. We arrived late at night and was amazed at how beautiful the hotel looked. There is a small lane from the main road to the hotel but it makes the hotel a little hidden paradise. We was met by Helen who is so lovely and welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. We have stopped in many 3 and 4 star hotels in the past but the Corfu club is by far the best to date! The breakfast is basic but does the job and era who does the cooking is a lovely lady. All the staff who run this hotel are very hard working and lovely kind welcoming people. They keep the hotel in excellent condition. The rooms are fabulous. We had calypso and elphida room. We had 2 bathrooms with amazing double power showers. Huge wardrobes in both rooms. The beds are the most comfortable beds we have had on holiday. The rooms are cleaned everyday and clean towels also provided daily. Pool towels are also provided. Air con is really good and is free!! We can not praise this hotel enough and can't understand how it is only a 3 star as it deserves more! The pool is a good size and is spotless. The sunbeds are really comfortable and always available. The food menu at the hotel is limited but what food they do is beautiful and very fresh. There's a supermarket on the main road just at the end of the lane. We got taxis to dassia and ipsos. Make sure you check price of taxi before getting in as the drivers try to charge more if you don't ask. A taxi to gouvia centre is 8 euro, dassia is 12 and ipsos is 15 euros. If you want to go on the nearby beach which is a 15 minute walk its a must to wear the swim shoes as the pebbles hurt your feet! Thank you to all the staff at Corfu club for a great holiday.
