Ekati Mare Boutique Resort

We have just returned from a week at this lovely hotel. It was my first time travelling with my youngest daughter & I was very nervous about what I would find. The hotel was, for us, a highlight. I had booked a double room for my daughter and I but it was small & our balcony tiny. I was very pleased that the manger upgraded us to a far better room at no extra cost. Thank you for your kindness! We really enjoyed the iced coffees & the cocktails are delicious!! We found the hotel very beautiful & well kept. Breakfast catered for everyone & most evenings I opted for a salad as I prefer colder food in a hot climate. There was a fantastic selection of fresh veggies & fruit. The karaoke night was another favourite memory for us! The entertainment staff, bar staff, cleaners, receptionists, supervisors, managers…. work very hard! I think our week was good value for money. Kavos is not for small children & even my teenager lacked confidence in going out along the main strip. We just headed off on an amazing boat trip & a visit to Corfu Town. If Kavos had been that bit nicer, my review would have been 5 ⭐️

### Very disappointing — definitely not the luxury experience advertised We stayed at Ekati Mare Lifestyle Resort for 7 nights in July/August 2026 and, unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, things went downhill. After a long journey and arriving in the early hours, there were issues locating our booking. When we finally got to our room, it was unbearably hot and the air conditioning was leaking a large amount of water onto the floor. I actually slipped on the water during the night. The room phone also didn’t work, so we had to go downstairs to report it. We were given an old, dirty fan for the first night. The room itself was far below the standard we expected. The “double bed” was actually two single beds pushed together which repeatedly moved apart, and there were several cleanliness and maintenance issues including mould on the curtains, dirty bathroom grouting, dirty cups and surfaces, dust, and even a false nail left behind by a previous guest. The pool was another huge disappointment. There simply weren’t enough sun loungers for the number of guests, with towels being placed on loungers early in the morning. We never managed to get one and therefore didn’t use the pool **once during our entire week**. The restaurant also seemed completely overcrowded. There were often not enough tables or chairs and the staff appeared overwhelmed. On several occasions nobody came to take our drinks order, and we actually ate meals without having any drinks because nobody attended our table. We were also disappointed to discover that drinks with dinner weren’t included. There were additional costs throughout the stay too, including €5 per day to use the beach, while we also had to buy our own drinking water as none was provided in the room. What makes all of this particularly frustrating is that the resort is marketed as a beautiful, luxury-style property. That simply wasn’t the experience we had. We paid £1,378 for our week and expected a much higher standard of accommodation, facilities and service. We appreciate that no holiday is perfect and that occasional problems happen, but this was **far more than a couple of minor issues**. Unfortunately, the combination of the room problems, cleanliness, broken facilities, lack of sun loungers, overcrowding, poor service and constant additional costs significantly affected our holiday. Based on our experience, we would **not return to Ekati Mare and would not recommend it to others looking for the luxury experience portrayed in the hotel’s marketing.**

We were hesitating but our stay at the hotel exceeded all our expectations! The hotel is freshly renovated, staff maintain it clean and tidy. Talking about staff.. thank you a lot for the feeling being welcomed and took care of. Service is nothing but excellent! Thanks to breakfast, restaurant, bar and kitchen team. Food is delicious, room is spacious modern. Especially like to mention entertainment team who went above and beyond. Morning yoga with Morin and day Water Polo with Leo were incredible and inspiring! Thank you guys A little tip for tourists 📌 Take a bike or ATV to see beautiful beaches around.

Beautiful hotel lovely pool and gardens. Can’t fault the place other than the restaurant. Too small, large queues very little seating for larger groups. The main issue which was clearly affecting everyone was the infestation of wasps constantly on your food, in your drinks. I couldn’t see anyone enjoying the experience it was very rushed and had to clear my own plates to try and reduce the amount of flies and wasps. This could be easily improved with traps and something as basic as fans in the restaurant area.

Beautifully designed hotel, lots of flowers and hardworking staff. BUT the food was terrible and the noise from traffic and music constant. Breakfasts ok. Dinners 2*. All overcooked beyond recognition and often edibility. Salads were nice and fresh mainly because they hadn’t been fried too long and then put under a hot lamp too long. Food sometimes actually burnt so it tasted bitter. Fish twice in the week I was there and was same each time despite “theme” nights. Meats and chicken overcooked and chewy. Lots of chips, pasta to sustain kids. Practical info (if you haven’t already booked, don’t!)If you have info below might be useful. Take cash for hotel there is a charge on card transactions and cash seems to be lower price. The first atm as you turn right out of hotel allows withdrawals using mobile phone card/wallets. Pool area is very slippy when wet. Sunbeds at a premium. Everyone towel bags even though hotel asks you not to. Room cleaning is adequate but no info as to towel changes etc, every other day no info on how to adjust air con (I had a teen with me) or to reset safe and how to use. We didn’t have our coffee cups (there is kettle) washed or changed at all All the pools are at least 1.5 m deep and only steep steps to access, unless you have swim up rooms. Swim up rooms nice but will spend at least 1/2 day in shade. And there are some guests who seem to dominate playing their own music so everyone had to hear it along with the constant loud music from the hotel entertainment. Kavos is awful. Dirty. Lots of half built closed down units. Huge range of slogan. T shirts that you would pray your kids don’t read and start an awkward conversation. Some cute jewellery beads etc. lots of phallic ashtrays and lighters. No pavements so super scary with toddlers and kids as it is a busy noisy road. Beach filthy and I mean filthy. The hotel’s own beach area looked very nice but no info or map to it in hotel -turn left and 2 min walk then across the road Food in hotel was expansive but if you were lucky not bad (don’t have the poke bowl, Greek salad was lovely) and Kavos is also expensive for rubbish food. Bowl of spag Bol 15 euro. Kids burger etc 9euro. There is nice Italian nearby and also Big Max is best value. There looked to be pretty taverna on beach Rousos. Turn right out of hotel and lots of minimarts for water and eateries etc. (and those 1970s style souvenirs 🍆). Floats used in pools. Lots of people leave behind so you can grab one. But wouldn’t want to take a kid who wasn’t a good swimmer or toddler who was a”runner” as gate always open and gaps in fence at back. I feel hotel means well but is just not being run as a 4*. Other top tip if you have late departure, lovely shower available but you have to book a time slot in advance. Unfortunately this seems to be a secret. Corfu airport very expensive for food etc. Overall disappointed with this trip. But that’s Tui these days- over promises under delivers.
