Hyatt Ziva Corfu

Overall we had a great holiday, and we had no issue getting booked in the restaurants. Cleanliness was amazing, the lagoon pool does turn white clothes green however. Housekeeping did sort this by washing the bikini. Would highly recommend.

Just back from another great holiday at this hotel. The reception staff were very welcoming on arrival and soon had our key card ready. This time we had room in a small block of four with a pleasant view. The guest services team had left a card welcoming us back for another stay with a bottle of wine and other small gifts which was a lovely gesture. The housekeeping service was first class during stay. Also on request gluten free beer was put in the mini bar. The standard of food at the World, Yiayia and Oceanside Grill was of high with gluten free options readily available. If you had a question the staff were happy to check if a dish was gluten free. Maria in the World Restaurant made sure we had a very pleasant meal every time we ate there. The team in the World Restaurant deserve huge credit for how they dealt with service on the evening of the huge thunderstorm and torrential rain which closed all the other restaurants. They put in a massive effort to cater for everyone that evening and all done in a friendly and professional manner despite the pressure. The beach was busier this time but there were still plenty of sunbeds and towels available. Service from the bar was first class with the team regularly checking if you needed anything to drink. All the staff we met were very friendly and professional working to ensure that we had an enjoyable break. A minor point is that the public areas, especially the seating, need some refurbishment. Another enjoyable stay at this hotel and an relaxing one for those who need a gluten free diet.

Honestly a great hotel…is it the best ever, no….but is definitely not the worst as some reviews would suggest. We had a bungalow room which was perfect. So quiet at night. The room was lovely, no issues at all. The pools were all ok, yes there was green staining but I had no issues with hair or costume discolouration. The sea was warmer than the pools but as described by others, murky and a little rocky. Managed to book the à la cartes and didn’t use the buffet in the evenings but used it for lunch and breakfast with no issues. The à la cartes were lovely and of a standard of others in similar hotels. Staff were excellent, efficient and helpful when required. We had preferred access to the lounge and pool. This was nice and worth the money we thought. We left the hotel a few times, the bus to town was an adventure. We went on the jeep safari to the north which was a great day out. All in all a great holiday on beautiful Corfu.

Just returned after nine nights at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed nearly every minute. Recent reviews had me slightly worried before arrival but personally could hardly complain about anything, the main positives for me were very friendly staff and the quality the food Our room on the first floor was lovely with a beautiful sea view and a massive very comfy bed, the bathroom had a great walk in shower and complimentary toiletries. The air con worked well but unfortunately developed a leak straight away which we reported on their app and someone came out very quickly to sort it, he did a good job and it was much better but unfortunately continued to leak very slightly for the duration of the holiday. The food at the buffet restaurant was varied and great quality even day,great selection for all tastes catered for and we never had any complaints at all. We also ate at the barefoot grill a few times during the day because it was handy for the beach area and though the menu was a bit limited we always found something tasty to eat. We went to the Greek al a carte restaurant one night and thoroughly enjoyed that as well as a one off but to be honest we were more than happy with the buffet. The main bar in the lobby was where we spent most nights and it had a great choice of drinks to choose from, it was waiter service but we found it was much quicker to just go to the bar ourselves. The night time entertainment was pretty good and we saw a very good live band called boombox collective who really impressed. Now for just a couple of negatives, recent reviews have mentioned the swimming pools being dirty and even having green slime in them , I never experienced this however around the edges of the lagoon pool in particular there is staining that does look a bit off putting, surely these stains can be scrubbed off easily enough, otherwise the pools looked clean enough to me and there was plenty of people in them. Finally our flight time was early and we arrived at the hotel at 1pm , as the hotels official check in time is 3pm we didn't really expect our room to be ready and it wasn't, but no problem as we were directed to the buffet restaurant for something eat and then a couple of drinks in the bar, but it had been a long day of travelling, in our case since 03.00am the previous day and we were exhausted and in desperate need of a shower and a sleep but we were left sitting around the hotel until 4pm before getting our room key,if you advertise your check in at 3pm then the room has to be ready by 3pm, I know that they must have been busy but they also must know when guests are expected to arrive so no excuse really. Apart from that an amazing holiday in a beautiful well run hotel and I would return in a flash, and I will hopefully return next year

Overall good holiday after initial room not being available on arrival ( requested adapted room due to my husband being a full time wheelchairs user) Room had been overbooked, our room was available the following day, the hotel is set on a hill and has a steep slope which runs from the hotel to the beach, bars and 2 pools, unfortunately there is a small step from the hotel to the main path/ slope, we thought this would be a prob with the wheelchair and there was no ramp, we highlighted this to the staff on arrival The 2nd day we attempted to manoeuvre down and my husband nearly came out of his chair, a shrub on the side of the path saved him, other guests assisted to get my husband back on the path A small temporary ramp was immediately put in, although better was not safe enough so we eventually found another path which led around the hotel The hotel manager and front of house staff were very attentive, the manager asked to meet us and we discussed the problems with step and not suitable for a wheelchair user All was noted and the manager reassured us this would be rectified when the hotel closes for the winter He also paid for a taxi to visit Corfu old town and checked on us for the week we stayed The hotel is lovely, gorgeous views into the bay, peaceful, plenty of sun beds, used the sea by choice, preferred pool was not as nice as pool near the beach in my opinion as no view Staff brilliant, food amazing, used buffet mostly as good choice Gouvia is not a pretty resort but we found the hotel had enough to offer for a relaxing holiday Corfu town 20 minutes in a taxi and worth a visit There was a mixed guest, couples, families, think it would be very busy in the school holidays and maybe noisy but we found September perfect for us Overall I would recommend the hotel but needs some tweeks, I would say not quite a 5 star but getting there
