Iolida Corfu

Strávily jsme se sestrou v termínu od 9. do 16. června v hotelu a byly jsme velmi spokojené. Velmi nám pomohla se vším skvela recepční Alex. Byla naprosto skvělá!!! Se vším poradila, pomohla. Personal v jídelně s panem Costou byl také velice milý, příjemný a vstřícný. Pobyt se nám velmi líbil. Hotel je krásný. Velice děkujeme za služby. Kamila a Hana (Italy).

We had a large room in the Annexe with the biggest balcony/terrace l have ever seen in a hotel..!! We mostly sat over at the main pool with lots of sunbeds available. Often it wasn't very busy. I'm guessing that was due to the high temperatures Southern Europe is currently experiencing. Both pools and garden areas were well maintained. The dining room had small plastic tables and uncomfortable plastic chairs..Not very attractive. However the self service All Inclusive was good plus coffee/teas were available with every meal. The servers were lovely especially Kosmena and all worked very hard with hundreds of people at every sitting. On reflection we would not return because we like to try different islands. The setting is lovely though with good views of the Albanian coastline.. Thank you Corfu..x

We stayed here for a week and, while there were some positives, overall we left feeling quite disappointed. The best parts of the hotel were the pool, the food and the rooms themselves. The pool area is lovely, the snack bar was good and the cocktails were enjoyable. The rooms were modern and comfortable, and the food was consistently good. The only downside was that the restaurant felt very canteen-like, especially at busy times, and lacked the atmosphere you would expect from a hotel of this standard. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest issue throughout our stay. Reception staff often seemed uninterested when we asked for help, with sighs, huffs and eye-rolling making us feel like we were being a nuisance rather than paying guests. We asked for an iron and had to chase it for two days before finally receiving one. It was then removed from our room without anyone explaining there was a time limit on its use, leaving us without it the day before we were attending a wedding. Our hairdryer also stopped working during the stay and, despite reporting it, nobody ever came to look at it. The air conditioning was another major frustration. The room never seemed to get below around 24 degrees and was uncomfortable to sleep in. We raised this more than once but nobody seemed particularly interested in resolving the issue. Housekeeping was also below expectations. The room wasn't cleaned particularly well, soap and towels weren't always replenished and, most surprisingly, staff packed our belongings into our suitcases while tidying the room. As two friends sharing a room, items were simply thrown into whichever suitcase was nearby. We found this intrusive and had to spend time sorting everything back out ourselves. There were also two male members of staff, including one bartender, whose behaviour made us feel uncomfortable during our stay. As for the location, Dassia wasn't our favourite part of Corfu. There isn't a great deal around and the beaches are nowhere near as nice as those on the west side of the island. If we returned to Corfu, we would choose a different area altogether. For us, this was definitely not a 4-star experience. The pool, rooms and food were good, but good facilities alone do not make a 4-star hotel. Customer service was poor, reported issues were largely ignored and housekeeping standards were inconsistent. We left feeling that guest satisfaction was not a priority. Overall, while there are some positives, we would not stay here again and would recommend looking at other areas and hotels in Corfu before booking.

The location in Dassia is central for the East coast. The buses run North to South along the main road and it's only a 30 minute ride into Corfu Town on the number 7 that runs regularly with plenty of his stops. It's set back from the road so noise is not a problem. It's a relaxed atmosphere, we went in early September so it was mostly couples and a few toddlers. But it was not crowded with plenty of sun beds. A real mix of ages too, young couples, older couples and families with teens probably pre uni return. The rooms are compact but have all you need, hairdryer, tea/coffee and air con. I'm not sure on the differences between the rooms as they all seems the same, except those at the front over looking the pool will also have a sea view, but really it's not worth it. A garden view room is fine. We booked a year in advance with TUI so definitely shop around as lots of companies use it, also French German and probably Russian guests there as well. It was refurbished 3 years ago and it shows. In September it still looked as good as the online pictures. Very clean with daily room service and a fridge in our room. I was happy with the price which was a package deal. The food was great, a variety of meat dishes through the week. My wife was not impressed with the vegetarian options, but they looked fine to me. A lot of things came in thick flavoursome sauces. I was very happy as there was variety and not the same main dishes each day. The staff were friendly and helpful and have us plenty of advice on travel and places to visit. There was only evening entertainment 3 nights out of 7 and these were all singers doing pop classics. There are no planned activities in the day so take some games and cards to fill the evening. The all inclusive bar was good with a selection of cocktails, a tasty lager and red white pink wine all on tap. There was no haggling over how often you could go back for a refill. But the guests were all well behaved so it was not an issue for the staff. I would recommend the Iolida.

Amazing views, friendly, helpful staff, great choice of food and close to the lovely bay.
