SplashWorld Aqualand Resort

I came here with 4 of my children (17, 15, 9 and 13 months) We had a great time and didn’t want to leave! We came on 21st August and left on 30th August, we should have done 2 weeks! Everything is at hand for the children to go off and make friends, swim, eat and have a great time. We were all together and had a fantastic holiday, thank you. I’m looking at rebooking for next year. We booked directly through the hotel website and flights were with RyanAir total cost £4,900. The same holiday with TUI would have been £7,500!

Positives first… Aqua land is great. Superb for the kids and teens. Keeps them occupied. Plenty of variety and queue times aren’t huge, even at peak times. The resort is kept clean and tidy in general. Its split into 3 areas essentially, aqualand, wavepool and the resort. Staff do the best with what they have. Staff in general are friendly, pretty quiet but help when needed. Rooms are clean and tidy, have all been recently refurbed and to pretty good level. New tiling and a lick of paint. Drink service outside is quick, alcoholic drinks don’t skimp on the hard stuff, nothings watered down, all free poured if anything sometimes can be a tad to strong. Receptionists really helpful. Polite and will go above and beyond. Guy at Wavebar most helpful out of them all. Bad points… the lighting at night is terrible. First night fell down unlit steps, twisted my ankle and spent rest of holiday with swollen blue foot! There are just no markings to the edge, so if you are visually impaired you’ll be tripping all over the place. Food… holy hell, the best I can give is edible. Sometimes. The same thing day in, day out and none of it particularly great. Cake that aren’t eaten are then made in to bases for other cakes. More mousse that you can shake a stick at. Even the special evenings you can book are just the buffet meals moved to a different restaurant. Its not 4 star. Biggest let no Greek food! None!! Entertainment is just don’t bother. Good for tiny kids. In the sky bar, so sweating covered in wasps and smashed people. Entertainment in the day… is a guy buy the pool playing happy hardcore full blast. If not that the most inappropriate explicit non family music you could ever hear. I’m no snowflake, but hearing f this and f that played to lots of families is not right Other activities… Darts… wooden board, blunt darts Aqua aerobics… never happened Water polo… he tried his best Volleyball… there was a net Gym… 2 running machines, 2 cycling, some free weights. Nothing else Amusements… ancient lollipop machines, total of about 10 machines, only one is a game. Bonus is the guy running it is a miserable, horrible, rude sod who just shouldn’t be running an amusement for kids. TUI staff you wont see. That doesn’t have anything to do with the resort. But if you need info speak to other guests and the receptionists. Wasps and hornets everywhere. Mini Market go up the road DONT use the one at the resort. Double the price and then some. I’ve seen people complain of location. But if you don’t check the location before you pay thousands then you can’t blame the resort. Its in the middle of nowhere. Public buses are regular to old town which is lovely. Free coaches you can book the day before. Security is a worry when you stay. External customers can pay to go in aqualand for the day but can walk straight into the resort. Which is a not good. Overall. If you like a rough and ready resort, send the kids off to entertain themselves, food that fills you up but is not all that, good size pools and that’s it, then this place is for you. Just don’t be disappointed. Anything more go else where.

Great rooms the food is your basic all inclusive food but good The splash park with all slides are great sometimes you have to queue for certain slides. On arrival to hotel check in was quick, and directed to our room. Room was nice, I believe was recently renovated. However there was ants which no matter what they came back. We had no food in the room. There was a slight smell of sewage from the drain in the bathroom but this went once had shower on. We were near the main reception area on 1st floor and could hear the loud music until around midnight. This didn’t bother us too much but if you had young children it may do. The resort was nice and kept clean and the food was nice, although not much variety however we always found something to eat even with a picky teen. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach and town which were both nice for days out. These need booking the day before at reception. Theo’s boat trip was good booked with the Tui rep in resort. The water part was good too although had to buy food and drinks in there. The let down for this resort was the entertainment, the nights in particular. We have been to many resorts and we have never been so bored after dinner. Most people stayed in the lobby and played cards and as you are in the middle of no where there isn’t anywhere else to go. There was an attempted fire show one night which was embarrassing and the rest of it, well I’m not even sure what it was supposed to be. Half the nights were just left to music playing very loudly I would not return because of this.

Family of 3 - age 54, 21 & 13. Waterpark is great, variety of slides for all ages (great perk as it should have cost us 40 Euros each per day). Wave pool at hotel is good fun, but one negative - paint is peeling off the floor & you can feel it floating round your feet. We found food to be pretty decent, usual all inclusive selection, you will always find something that you like. Children's chicken nuggets & fish fingers are poor quality. Tip - breakfast from 9am is very busy, go early (around 8am) you have a more peaceful experience. Cocktails are strong but good! Rooms modern & cleaned regularly. Beds are hard, but this is to be expected abroad. Air conditioning works well. Adult entertainment is absolutely awful! Only one good act 'Fire Breather'. Karaoke, disco, female singer all poor. Tip - take advantage of the coach transport to the beach & Corfu town. There is nothing to see or do outside the hotel complex, it is quite a desolate area. Took day trip to Albania, enjoyed it. We would like to go back & spend our full day in Saranda (ferry port), it was beautiful & plenty of shops/stalls etc. Theo 's boat trip & BBQ to Sidari was very good. Great for families. Crew very attentive & engaging & food was good. Reception staff at hotel very helpful & pleasant. Staff at reception bar are lovely. The man changing notes to coins in the games room is horrible & obnoxious and Overall we enjoyed our week & would have easily stayed for 2 weeks .
