San Miguel Park & Esmeralda Mar

Definitely a 2 star hotel, some really nice features but some poor ones too. Firstly location is amazing, quiet beach, quiet village, beautiful. Rooms were ok, our were modernised which were nice whilst the other party had an old style room. The pools are two of the deepest pools I have ever experienced but far too small, alot small than they look in the pictures, the pool area is also far too small for during the day and evening if you want to watch the entertainment, we didn't so can comment on the quality. The food was ok, limited choice but tasted fine but again dining room was far too small. The staff can come across as a little abrupt at time although the man on reception was helpful. Overall had a great holiday but was due to the area and beach, would return to the hotel felt a very cheap holiday experience

Here's an honest review about our stay. I booked for 10 days all inclusive with my 15yr old daughter. I was a little worried about the reviews before the holiday. The transfer from the airport was only 40mins we were picked up in a luxury minibus. On arrival we were given a map, wrist bands, paid the tax and showed passports. Getting to the room was hard work it was hot and had to carry the cases up a flight or stairs and had to walk about 5 / 10 mins uphill to our room. It was basic but had air conditioning, fridge, large bathroom, lots of storage and a balcony with a forest view. Comfy beds, yes you can hear a chair move from other guests next door but I always take earplugs so not a problem. Room was cleaned and towels refreshed nearly every day. Breakfast buffet English breakfast, pastries, toast, cheese ham etc juice and a hot drink machine. Nice lunches and evening meals lots of pizza and chips for youngsters. Bar drinks and snacks- toasties, ice cream and pastries. To be honest as you fill up on main meals we didn't bother too much with the snacks. There's 2 main pools one on the top terrace we used all the time, loads of sunbeds though the day no need to panic! We took a drink from the bottom bar with us to the top pool we then found when we needed another drink the top bar was open. Gorgeous sea views from the top pool area, pool is deep although there's a small children's pool. The pool are by the main complex is more for children, the entertainers are based here, sunbeds go quickly here about 9am towels appear. Evening entertainment for adults starts about 9.30pm ISH they had dance shows, magician, quizzes and karaoke. We alternated a pool day and beach day. Go to reception and ask for drink tokens for the beach bar and sunbed discount. It's 16 Euros for 2 beds and a parasol. Go to the beach bar it's 1Euro refundable deposit for a plastic cup we kept them until the last day and use tokens for free drinks. The kayak is a must! Book at reception and get free kayak use from 30mins. We enjoyed snorkeling seeing fish, ray and squid. Jellyfish fish further out when kayaking. Lots of souvenir shops, bars etc around the beach. The bay is stunning we went to the next resort bits it's not as nice as San Miguel. Taxis are expensive book through the hotel much cheaper. On your last day reception keep your cases (check out 11am) and you can use there shower room with towels to freshen up also you can still use your All inclusive facilities until you leave. It is on a hill so going to your room is a mini gym workout but that's the only negative considering the cost, location etc it's so worth it. The beach is only a 5 mins walk and mostly flat. Not recommended if you have trouble with balance or use walking aids.

This review isn't really down to the resort itself we were completely mislead by Jet2 when we booked. Online the apartments are described as being up a "slight incline" this is a massive understatement as the hills are steep, uneven and tiresome. We had an elderly family member and a pram and the steep hills to and from the facilities were extremely frustrating. The second pool has no entertainment, no kids entertainment and the snack/drinks bar opens 11am till 1.00pm then closes until 3.30pm so for 2.5 hours the only way to get food and drinks is to navigate up and down the 2 steep hills. Again this is not described online. We were all inclusive and were told that drinks and sun loungers at the beach were included in our stay. This is a complete fabrication. We were allowed 2 euro discount on sun loungers and could only have 1 drink with a ticket provided by the hotel - which wasn't explained to us on arrival and no tickets where ever given to us. The resort has 1 bar and 1 supermarket and is definitely not for families as there are limited facilities and nothing to do for teenagers. The hotel itself is absolutely not toddler friendly, the kids disco is on a raised platform situated near the pool, how a young child hasn't injured themselves falling from the dance floor is beyond me or ended up in the pool. Overall we had a very dissapointing week. The place is beautiful, very traditional and quiet but it certainly shouldn't be advertised as a family resort.

We have just returned from a weeks’ stay, we had a one bedroom comfort apartment the rooms were spacious and cleaned daily while we were there, once we sussed the air con it worked well, you could hear other apartment doors creaking open but nothing too loud. The restaurant area is small but copes well with the guests always a chicken, pork or fish option on all inclusive no one went hungry including kids. There are 2 pools each have a small shallow sectioned off area. The top one is a little trek up a few ramps depending on room location but has a lovely view and bar serving snacks, the entertainment team are at the bottom pool and keep the kids entertained with various activities. The local area has a couple of shops which close at 8pm and a few restaurants on the beach, taxis can be ordered from hotel to go further afield. There was a lot of reserving sun beds and parasols being moved when we were there but we always found somewhere. Each night there was a mini disco for kids and face painting which went down well followed by bingo or karaoke or an act.

Just returned from a 2week stay. The rooms are spacious modern and clean. Cleaned everyday apart from Sundays. Great selection of food and drinks, something for everyone. Fresh and plentiful. Location is very very quiet. Limited shops and restaurants. The restaurants are high quality. Very close to a beautiful beach. Entertainment team Pau and Marian are great trying to meet the needs of Multi national groups. It is hilly so wouldn’t suggest staying if this would be an issue. Overall our stay was wonderful. Staff and facilities are great. Would recommend to families wanting a quiet base to explore Ibiza.
