The Kinney Venice Beach

When we got there we were told that there would be fire alarm inspections the following day from 10-11. So the following day we were out until around noon. When we got back the testing was still happening so we decided we would go to the beach. My husband opened the door to see about the noise. Just then one of the fire alarm inspectors shoved past him and walked into the room. He didn’t say may I enter or excuse me or anything. Luckily, I had just put a bra on, but I definitely wasn’t expecting for a stranger to just barge into our room. We went immediately to the front desk and told them what happened. They agreed that it was inappropriate and that they are supposed to knock before entering the room. They said the manager would call me. The manager never called. I wrote a review on booking hoping for some sort of apology or something for this breach of privacy and I got nothing. Not even to be told that they had talked to the man or reprimanded him. In fact, in one of my reviews they called me a liar. I’m not one to write 1 star reviews, but the initial situation and the actions that followed made this hard to ignore.

We stayed at the Kinney for 3 days in June with kids. The hotel itself was fun & stylish with well appointed rooms. It's well located a quick 15(ish) minute walk to Venice Beach. The kids loved the small pool after long days exploring LA.

Eddie was very helpful addressing some online issues created by booking.com. Pool was great and available. Highly recommend it.

Very nice and interesting hotel not far from the Venice Beach. Price/quality is fine, rooms are a good size and everything was very clean. friendly staff.

Nice staff, room seemed clean. Parking is in a garage attached to the hotel which is awesome. It's walking distance to restaurants and a gas station, and one mile from the beach.
