Travelodge by Wyndham LAX South

Booked my room direct through Wyndham as a rewards member. Upon arrival I was told by front desk staff the King I reserved was in their undesirable building across the street, in a dark corner where non-guests often congregate overnight and have caused issues, on ground floor. This detached building has no onsite staff or exterior cameras. Staff pressured me to take a Queen bed/ smaller room in main building, wanting me to "feel safer". Assured the main building would have 24/7 access with my room key- this was Not the case. The overnight staff instead locked the power doors with no room card override, and I spent an uncomfortable amount of time attempting to find a direct phone number to the hotel. Staff then gave attitude when I called from the main door. The only reasons I give 2 stars is because the room was clean, there was hot water and because my rideshare driver told me this place is under newer management which has made improvements to "clean it up", that it used to be very "ghetto". Wyndham should be ashamed. Why are they renting unsafe rooms to Wyndham members?? Absolutely feels like bait & switch. Additionally: Housekeepers were observed to be working while obviously ill with upper respiratory symptoms, which didn't make me feel any better. Stay Somewhere Else. - Booked in advance. Requested highest floor. Got ground floor. Slept 2 hours. :/

Hotel shuttle is unrealible. Only takes 10 people every hour. By time I arrived 7am-10am was taken. I booked this hotel just for the shuttle. Had to get my own ride.

We had a great stay here. The rooms were lovely and Esmerelda, our receptionist was lovely, and helpful. The only negative was that parking was chargeable on their property and we were not made aware of it. When back in LA we will stay here again.
