Travelodge by Wyndham LAX South

Excellent experience. Clean and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Nice little pool area. Spotless. Reminded me of a family owned business in the pride and attention to detail. Staff was 100%. Manager went out of his way to offer information about schedules and local area. Property looked newly renovated. My first choice when overnighting in LA. AAA+

I had a couple of speaking engagements in the LA area and upgraded my air to get there. I thought I would then go cheap on the accommodations. I wanted something near the airport that had a shuttle and was relatively inexpensive. I found a good deal at the Travelodge. They had shuttle but you had to call a number to get it to arrive at the LAX terminal. I called waited a few minutes and it arrived. It arrived but did not inspire confidence as it had the hotel name written in the window with some kind of white substance. We arrived at night to an older motel looking establishment and quite frankly I was not impressed. That initial view was then changed. The check-in was fast and friendly. Upon surveying my room I found it to be large, impeccably clean, had a refrigerator, microwave, safe, a large flat screen TV and king bed. The bathroom was nicely sized with a shower and a tub. The water and toilet worked great. As I had arrived at night I did not really look closely at the outside of the buildings. By light of day I noted that while it was an older classic motor lodge, it was very well maintained and had a very busy staff. It has a great pool section for people into that. There was an IHOP next door and a great mini market. Everything I needed was right there. I'm a walker and have found some gritty areas while staying at other hotels near LAX. I was shocked that his hotel/motel was actually in a nice area in El Segundo that was very gentrified. The neighborhood behind the place had a green belt and most all the houses and apartments were very well maintained. I was impressed. I took the shuttle back to LAX and of note the earliest they have is at 5am so you need to know that and let the desk know prior to the time you need. I had a great stay and found it much better for me anyway than those large hotels I used to stay near Century BLVD. Thanks!

Location to the airport was wonderful, free shuttle to airport every hour, just sign in for time needed. Room was clean, shower stayed hot and shampoo dispenser s. Coffee in room. IHOP is 5 minute walk. Front desk very friendly. Checked in super early for $25 more , which was fine with me.
