Travelodge by Wyndham LAX South

Where do I begin! Maria's (Night Duty Supervisor) lack of professionalism was not enough, she even then proceeded to reprimand me for having observed a dog being brought into one of the rooms, after having asked about the 'no pets' policy of the hotel. I asked whether my room was a pet-free room, and asked about the property's pet policy. Maria's response was that it was illegal for me to ask about the dog, which she claimed was a service dog. It was a bizarre, hostile and unprofessional environment to be exposed to. I never saw the pool - this amenity was never shown or explained to me (as advertised in the property's management photo), neither was any other amenity explained or informed to me either. I did not receive proper, professional and hospitable care that one would expect from a Travelodge by Wyndham property. The shuttle service does not operate between certain hours (12AM-5AM), and the property only makes this known to you once you have booked and paid for the reservation afterwards (omitting this information at pre-payment and pre-booking stage). When questioned about this, you will be threatened with a refusal of service, have your paid room key temporarily taken away from you, threatened by intimidation to have the police called to have you removed from the property, and falsely advised that they do not have to provide you with your confirmed and paid room reservation if they simply do not want to - this is discrimination (based on the personal likeness/dislikeness of a person). I expect better standards of service, quality, and basic professional levels of behaviour and conduct from any Travelodge by Wyndham property, and indeed from any Wyndham Resort and Hotel owned property. Poor manners and unprofessional conduct is unacceptable. In fairness however, I do have to state that the room cleanliness was top class, the room looked newly renovated and very clean; the personnel however, need a customer service mindset reset.

This is a no frills property but more than adequate for a short/airport stay. Rooms are clean, have air con (though it is noisy.) Bathroom has shower gel, shampoo, conditioner provided. Fresh towels and linen and we had a business room with 2 queen beds. The rooms are 2 storey motel style and we had very noisy upstairs neighbours, so I would recommend getting the higher floor. There is a blackout blind. There was also some general Friday night noise from passers-by. Tea/coffee in the room and a safe, along with a fridge and iron. Tv and remote. There is free wifi and a small pool onsite that we used with a few loungers and chairs. There is also free tea/coffee just in the area near to reception. Staff were all pleasant enough and we could leave luggage and use the facilities a few hours prior to check in as we were early, so grateful for this. There are lots of residents here that are staying on a more permanent basis, so hang around outside their rooms etc. smoking and on the phone. Locally there’s plenty of dining options, iHop being very close, with Burger joints (Carls Jr, Habit, In and Out) being a 5-10 min walk away. Ralph’s and Walgreens are accessible by walking too 10 mins. Shuttle runs on the hour every hour (not 24 hours though) to get back to the airport. Only takes 8-10 people, so you need to pre-book, but it was only 10 minute ride to the terminal. There is plenty of parking but you need to register and pay for this in reception. They offer day use rooms if you’re waiting for flights. All in all a good stay for the price point and I would stay here again.

Booked my room direct through Wyndham as a rewards member. Upon arrival I was told by front desk staff the King I reserved was in their undesirable building across the street, in a dark corner where non-guests often congregate overnight and have caused issues, on ground floor. This detached building has no onsite staff or exterior cameras. Staff pressured me to take a Queen bed/ smaller room in main building, wanting me to "feel safer". Assured the main building would have 24/7 access with my room key- this was Not the case. The overnight staff instead locked the power doors with no room card override, and I spent an uncomfortable amount of time attempting to find a direct phone number to the hotel. Staff then gave attitude when I called from the main door. The only reasons I give 2 stars is because the room was clean, there was hot water and because my rideshare driver told me this place is under newer management which has made improvements to "clean it up", that it used to be very "ghetto". Wyndham should be ashamed. Why are they renting unsafe rooms to Wyndham members?? Absolutely feels like bait & switch. Additionally: Housekeepers were observed to be working while obviously ill with upper respiratory symptoms, which didn't make me feel any better. Stay Somewhere Else. - Booked in advance. Requested highest floor. Got ground floor. Slept 2 hours. :/
