Holiday Inn Miami West-Airport Area

Regularly stay at IHG Hotels. We checked in to learn that air conditioning was down and repair was not expected for over 24 hours (91+ today). No assistance to re-book a other Holiday Inn nearby, nor facilitate a shuttle to other site. Staff were polite, but not supported by management. One of our rooms smelled of mold, but another room was provided.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at the Holiday Inn Miami West – Airport Area. The first thing you notice when you walk into the hotel is the unpleasant smell. The lobby, hallways, and even the guest rooms have a dirty odor that’s being masked by an overpowering fragrance. It gives the impression that the carpets haven’t been deep cleaned in a very long time. The noise level was another major issue. Guests were constantly yelling and talking loudly in their rooms and the hallways at all hours of the day and night. It was nearly impossible to relax, and the hotel did nothing to enforce quiet hours. The air conditioning barely worked. The thermostat showed conflicting temperatures, and it appeared to be locked, so we couldn’t adjust it ourselves. The room stayed warm and uncomfortable the entire time. I was also shocked that housekeeping doesn’t automatically clean your room. You have to call and request service, which is ridiculous considering how much this hotel charges. Speaking of prices, they’re outrageous. Breakfast is over $16 per person, yet it’s not even included with your stay. The vending machines are just as bad—around $4 for a tiny pack of candy is absurd. To make matters worse, the laundry room was out of service. A hotel charging these rates should have working amenities. It’s frustrating that basic things aren’t maintained. Overall, this hotel is overpriced, poorly maintained, and not worth the money. Between the unpleasant smell, loud guests, broken air conditioning, lack of automatic housekeeping, expensive food and vending machines, and broken laundry facilities, I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Save your money and book somewhere else.

We got stuck in the airport and American Airlines gave us choices in hotels. This was the one we chose. It worked because it had a free shuttle to avoid costs and it ran 24/7. Not the typical hotel we’re used to staying in but was decent for what we needed. Staff was accommodating and helpful.

To start off rooms were a little high to be charged for this type of stay when I got there. When I researched through my work app all reviews were goods like they were paid for or put together. This was false advertisement. I checked out early, first it was the room water, it was milky white. Then as I observed the bathroom the water did not get hot i let it run then i called downstairs, the man and lady were the only good piece of service on this trip, i was ill and couldn't keep going back and forth, they moved my room after maintenance came to my room to test the water. They stated let it run for 20 minutes, never heard of this! It had already been 25 after it did not get hot I asked to be moved to another room. As i was packing up I started looking at the interior of the hotel room. It had been spray painted, and I wish I would've taken pictures but because I was ill I was just trying to get comfortable and ready for a family wedding hours away. Moved to the next room, the same thing, i stayed packed because my mother turned on the shower and the handle fell off, they moved us again A TOTAL OF 5X, we appreciated the effort but because it was so hot i couldnt breathe. We were so uncomfortable we left the hotel early that morning to find if there was any openings we could take because this was false advertisement. We didn't have any luck, so we came back to talk to the man that was upfront. He came with and saw these conditions. The bathrooms were horribly stains everywhere floors, counters the tubs the walls, and as we were moving I was mortified to see how the rooms were being cleaned. During checkout time the rooms were being cleaned in a matter of seconds. I watched one of the housekeeping for the floor, throw water in the tubs, she didnt scrub anything, hardly wiped she did a lot of spraying and was doing 2/3 rooms at a time which explains why they were very disgusting and dark brown/black looking at the bottom of tubs you could tell they spray painted over everything in these rooms because of the peeling and discoloration, it was over rust thats unsanitary, there were stains in the carpet, there were not many towels in the room. They were very small for a child. I was so disgusted with the rooms and the way that everything was going, I did not even go take a look at the pool. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau because this needs to be investigated, I was told I could not get my money back because I booked through a third-party which was my job. This was just all unacceptable so I left the day before we were supposed to check out. I am a cleaner and how inspections go they need to be reported I wish that I could get my money back from the stay, this was very uncomfortable, not clean, no type of air and just filthy but crazy smelled good. The only thing I can say was clean was the bedspreads, pillows and the lobby. It will fool you! POORLY PUT TOGETHER FALSE ADVERTISED!
