Mimosa Hotel

Hotels were totally booked up for the one night after getting back from our cruise because of a lot of events in Miami that weekend. I was bummed to not really be able to get anything outside of the $500 per night price point, but I was relieved when we got to our hotel after the cruise that I was at least getting something for the money. Because of the availability crunch, we paid more than what the typical cost was. But the beach access and beach quality were great. I didn't know I got a balcony room which though it was street side and not beach side was a definite plus. The rooms were fine - tile floor in a beach hotel is not unexpected. The staff were generally accommodating with holding our luggage and trying to get us in early. The cons - they were always in short supply on towels which left you sort of begging to get one, one elevator was out and made lugging suitcases around more cumbersome. The biggest downside - we door dashed in some food to eat poolside but were quickly shamed by the restaurant manager that it was not allowed there. There is a restaurant but we were definitely in the hotel pool area and it certainly seemed appropriate to have it there. More than anything, his attitude was not appreciated in how he handled it -as the guest I was more gracious than he was as the host.

We only stayed 1 night post cruise out of Miami, and I wished we stayed here prior to the cruise as well. We will definitely stay again here next year!

This is a poorly run operation. Towels were almost never available for the pool and also for the room. House keeping always forgo to refill toilet paper and towels did not cover the number of occupants in the room. Elevator needs to be working. It was broken and we were there for multiple days - this should be prioritized to be fixed. Hotels feel dirty the floor was always gritty. In addition the curtains for the ocean view rooms need to be better for darkening out the sun. Should have sheer and black out combo for privacy.

We have had a very nice stay at the Hotel. Great calm location with unique direct beach access and with a very nice and trendy restaurant. Cris, Miguel and Cami are great and made of our stay a great experience, thanks you to the three of you and for sure we will come back!

The room was dirty! There were hairs on the linens and somebody’s socks by the desk, also one towel had hair on it and the other had a big stain. The food for luck at the Calypso was bad too - hard to chew and semi warm calamari THE staff was great though!
