Riu Plaza Manhattan Times Square

This hotel has a great location, close to all the tourist attractions and lots of restaurants. Great service, very clean, lots of lighting (newer hotels have one light only), usb ports to charge your phone. I strongly recommend the taxi service to the airport. Cheaper than uber or lyft. If you don't have a lot of luggage, the uber shuttle has a stop a block away.

Very enjoyable 5 night stay at Rui Plaza Manhattan, Times Square. Trip to New York to celebrate 50th birthday 🎂. We had not shared this information with hotel prior to our visit or on arrival, so we were very surprised when a small box of chocolates were delivered to our room. Lovely touch! The hotel is centrally located in Times Square. Plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance. Meals can also be purchased within the hotel. Ideal location for exploring downtown and midtown Manhattan. On our first day, we used the Big Bus (hop on, hop off) to take us downtown to see the 9/11 memorial & museum, catch a boat trip to Liberty Island and view the Manhattan skyline from the One World Observatory. Amazing day which ended with a walk from downtown back to Rui Plaza, which took us about an hour and three quarters. Good walking shoes are a must for visitors to New York! The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable for using as a base, while exploring NY. Large, comfy bed, immaculately made each day by house keeping. Air conditioning kept the room at an ideal temperature🌡. Small fridge and safe also in rooms. Plenty of space for hanging clothes and drawers for belongings. Suitcases stored neatly under the bed, maximising the space within the room. The ensuite shower/toilet was spacious. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand wash all provided. A hairdryer is wall mounted in the ensuite. Note to UK visitors, heat hair styling tools, did not work as hotel has 110V. There are plenty of charging / USB points within the room. WiFi was also good. TV in room had multiple American news channels (not BBC). The ensuite does have a glass sliding door; glass was obscured. Maybe not to everyone's taste, if sharing a room! Several elevators within the hotel, so never a long wait. We were on Floor 36, only certain lifts go to upper floors. Room access cards are used to activate elevators. Hotel took a $200 deposit on arrival. This was immediately credited back to our account upon departure. Check out time was 12pm. Courtesy rooms with a shower are available for guests to use after check out. Luggage can also be kept safely if needed. We would definitely choose Rui Plaza Manhattan, if visiting NY again in the future. Thanks for a great stay! 🗽

Avoid this company at all costs. My father suffered a stroke while on holiday in India, and I had to fly out from the UK immediately to be with him. I contacted them multiple times to cancel my upcoming trip to New York due to this emergency. Every other airline and hotel I booked with showed basic human decency and refunded me without issue. This company? Absolutely nothing. No flexibility, no understanding, no compassion. They hid behind “policy” and refused to help because I couldn’t instantly provide official paperwork from India — which anyone who has dealt with emergencies abroad will understand is not always possible. So after cancelling 4 hotels and 6 flights, this is the only company that decided to profit from a family medical emergency. Loyalty means nothing to them. Customer care clearly doesn’t exist. I will never use them again, and I strongly recommend others think twice before booking. If something goes wrong in your life, don’t expect them to care. My years of loyalty obviously means nothing

We stayed here for five nights in May and had a really great experience overall. The location is unbeatable — literally a minute (if that) from Times Square, which made getting around New York so easy. We were two adults and two teenagers sharing a room with two queen-sized beds, and I have to say, the room size was a pleasant surprise. Having stayed in New York before, I was expecting something much smaller, but this felt spacious and comfortable for all of us. The hotel was immaculately clean throughout our stay — the room was spotlessly cleaned every day with fresh towels, and the shower was particularly nice. I’d also say don’t be put off by some of the reviews about the breakfast setup. Yes, you have to go down and then back up to the fifth floor, but everything is extremely well organised. Even when it was busy, we never waited more than five minutes. The food itself was fresh and plentiful — great waffles, pancakes, bagels, and cereals. The only slight downside was the coffee, which could be better, but that’s easy to fix in New York! Despite being so close to Times Square, the hotel was surprisingly quiet. We stayed on the 39th floor and couldn’t hear any outside noise at all. The view wasn’t anything special, but honestly, we were hardly in the room long enough for it to matter. Overall, we had a really comfortable stay and would absolutely return. Definitely recommend!

Super 4 night stay, huge bed, great shower and perfect location, didn’t like the $133 I had to pay for facilities I wouldn’t use!!
