Riu Plaza Manhattan Times Square

We have just spent an incredible 4 days at this wonderful hotel x room was immaculate every day ,breakfast was excellent ( lots of choice to have a different breakfast every morning) I celebrated my 60th birthday on August 4th had a big surprise when we went for breakfast that morning the waiters came with a big birthday cardboard cut out and presented me with a birthday cake with candle ) the whole restaurant sang happy birthday was a lovely gesture by the hotel certainly made me feel very special indeed , we went out and came back to a lovely card and box of hotel chocolates again made my day its the little gestures that count xx nothing was ever too much trouble for our stay we were made to feel very welcome by all staff from reception to cleaners its 1 birthday I will treasure and never forget xx its brilliant location was excellent for the tubes and hop on off busses although we wouldnt use the hop on busses again far to expensive the tubes and under are far more cheaper and very well air conditioned felt safe on them at all times if you go on the hop on buses be prepared to sit for a 2 hour journey stuck in hiddious traffic so tubes are better as you can easily navigate around xx the only little teak I would do if I was the hotel manager was to offer tea bags as well as the coffee as the coffee was very strong so I had tea for breakfast 😀 can't wait to go back would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone great job guys keep up the incredible work xx 😀

This RIU has made me a fan of the brand. Daughter and I stayed during a recent trip to New York. Location was outstanding, in the heart of the action and activities. Hotel was very nice and my room was extremely nice with a great view from the 43rd floor. I would definitely stay here again

Hotel is pretty new. Location is unbeatable. Literally a few steps to the times square. Next to the Hershey World. A short walk from Harry Potter and Lion King broadway theatres. Housekeeping did a great job. Bed was comfortable. Family deluxe room was big enough to open 2 big and 2 small luggages. View of skyscrapers from window was great. Did not try their breakfast. Grubhub delivered to the lobby. Never wait too long for the elevators. Got a nice small box of chocolate on my birthday. Receptionist was efficient but not friendly. I will be back if I need to stay in Times Square.

Excellent location. Right in the centre and removed enough not to allow the noise get to you. Another lovely RIU, not quite as big as the RIU Plaza New York! But gorgeous all the same!! We had a room on the 22 nd floor, modern and comfortable. It was warm enough given it was artic whilst we were there! Staff were extremely helpful and friendly! We will definitely be back!

Upon check in no one told me that in order to turn on the AC/electricity in the room your key card must be inserted at all times. Upon learning this, we decided to leave the key in while we were out. We were gone for hours and returned to find our room was 80 degrees. Called the front desk and they sent someone up to help fix the issue, they were in and out a few times but the room never cooled. The front desk let us know if we packed up all our stuff and took it down the next morning, when a new room was available they would take our stuff up for us. The next morning we did just that, waited 30 min for an elevator that never came, seemed like only 1 out of 3 elevators was working. Had to leave our luggage in the room and take the stairs from the 7th floor down to the lobby. We spoke with a woman who claimed she was one of the managers about our issues and she explained that the elevators take long because they use one to take people up to the 5th floor for breakfast, breakfast was included in our reservations but we never attempted to go because you have to go check in on the 1st floor and they take you up to the 5th floor with a special key card, line was always long. I let the manager know I wanted a key card left in the room they switched us into so the ac could be left on and she acted like that was too big an ask. I have 3 children, I could not walk into a hot room again. The new room temperature never got below 72. Worst experience. Never staying here again.
